Really he kept the pace with the instrumental parts , the rythm and filling in the same time! that ' s what i call a great drummer! A musician for the whole! And recently i ve learned that he is left handed!!
SORRY GUYS - BEST VERSION IS ON ALIVE SHE CRIED -JIMS ENERGY ON THAT VERSION IS GREAT - AND IT HAS THE GRAVEYARD POEM ON IT .THIS WAS THE BAND AT THEIR TIGHTEST . EVERY NOTE WAS DEAD ON I THINK THEIR FIRST PEAK WAS 68 THE ALIVE SHE CRIED ALBUM VERSION OF LIGHT MY FIRE AND THE ROUNDHOUSE SHOW RECORDED IN LONDON ESPECIALLY CELEBRATION OF THE LIZARD WERE UNREAL APPARENTLY ANYONE WHO WAS ANYONE WAS AT THE LONDON SHOW INCLUDING STEVE MCQUEEN - THIS SHOW CAN BE SEEN ON RUclips - CALLED THE DOORS ARE OPEN
Half the Alive She Cried version IS this version; it's a composite, same as the Roadhouse Blues rendition on that album. Starting at 4:12 on ASC, right before Robbie's solo, it switches to Aquarius Theatre. Ray's organ switches from a Gibson G101 to a Vox Continental. The version posted here is pitched wrong, but is otherwise uncut. There are bars missing from the ASC version, but this is the source performance. The "Graveyard Poem" wasn't part of the performance either; completely different concert in Boston in 1970. After the poem, it switches back to a 1970 performance (and thus Ray's organ is a Gibson again) for the end of the song. It wasn't until all those Bright Midnight releases that people realized how carefully curated a lot of Doors live releases are (and they're hardly the only ones; John Entwistle re-recorded the first line of "Heaven and Hell" in 1994 for the reissue of the Who's Live at Leeds because in 1970 his mic shorted out and didn't catch the line).
@@sethcopeland4362 You know id heard that before somewhere but i wasn't sure - glad you've confirmed that for me - i love the doors but I'm no audiophile if u know wot i mean - i first thought it was like absolutely live - best versions from different concerts - and like ASC i thought it was from one amazing extra long show - i think when jim had it together the band were super tight - i wonder what would have happened if he had been able to live without the booze benders - its like the whole europe thing they did in 68 - the roundouse gigs(Doors are Open VHS) the danish and swedish tv spots i mean jim was all business and they were great IMO - especially liked the Celebration of the Lizard leading into the Light My Fire finale at the evening roundhouse show - legend has it some of the stones were there and steve mcqueen - thanks for your reply brother

It's simply my favourite rock intro!
How the heck is Densmore keeping time in all that free flow!!
You tell me!

dude, it’s not the mexico 1969, it’s the aquarius show, 2nd gig 1969
Why does Jim speak spanish in the begining?
Definitely not the Aquarius, 2nd performance. Listening to it now. Plus the crowd at this show is much larger than the one at the Aquarius.
Bro just listen to both of them they aren’t
@@zyrrhos the only show with "enciende mi fuego" is aquarius 2nd gig. and mexico recording has much worse quality
wheres the end?
which one's Jim?
ma il brano mi sembra palesemente accelerato
Definitely not México 1969.. No broadcasts are known during any of the Mexican performances.. Aquarius Theater on 21 July 1969.. Late Show ..

The Ed Sullivan performance was far better in terms of Jim's vocals.
