The best time to hear this is when you're out driving at night in the rain and it unexpectedly comes on the radio. it's that feeling I love.Like being alone on a light aircraft, flying through a thunderstorm. I was a senior in high school and I got word that John Densmore was coming to promote his book Riders On The Storm it was an amazing night listening to his stories and he even did some drumming, and I got his autograph! I'll never forget it! 😎👍

Jims voice and lyrics are deep a.f and the moody atmosphere created is so cruisy and perfect! the genius use of the real storm and rain sounds in the background were such a great idea and sound so effective and the sound is so ahead of it's time! But to be honest, I mainly came for the treasure that is Ray Manzarek's input - such talent, his two hands playing both a bass line (Yep, The Doors didn't have/need a bass player) and that iconic, beautifully melodic solo always will BLOW MY MIND to pieces!!
