Somebody has to stand up for Laena and her girls because Daemon sure as hell isn't going to 💀 I was so sad, disappointed, and enraged by the latest episode of HOTD. These changes they made to Laena and Daemon's marriage and Daemon's character (being a bad husband and father), in general, made me SICK. I'm a daemyra girl through and through, but he had a good marriage with Laena that laid the foundation for his happy marriage with Rhaenyra in the book. It's so upsetting how Laena barely had screen time in the show even though it's written in black and white how she was close to Rhaenyra, and she spent most of her time with Daemon and her. Instead, they gave that friendship to Alicunt rolls eyes so hard I'm in mourning guys it's not funny haha, but funny weird 😭😭😭
Never thought I'd be able to use this song with any of my ships because like what the actual f*ck?! but here we are...so I guess enjoy lol

This is an unfair way to show daemon. They film him hugging his daughters they delete the scene. In the book he is by her side until she dies and then carries her body to bed. This is 100% on the show runners that want to make daemon emotionless.
Yes, it’s unfair. Laena and her daughters deserved better as did Daemon’s characterisation because they made him appear as a terrible person🙈 but this is what we have. This is show Daemon🤢
@@paulinutec I think it completely ignores the fact that he loved her enough to not allow her the same fate that Aemma suffered, the show intentionally chose to leave out the good parts in order to push their Rhaenyra and Daemon agenda as evident by the fact they get married in the next episode.

The conflicting sides of good and bad were always what made Daemon such a compelling character to me, I feel like the show runners are destroying one of the best arcs in the book to spin their own narrative - one that isn't nearly as complex or interesting. I feel bad for Matt Smith, as an actor he was capable of portraying so much more.

Yes. The whole cast is being underused, really. It's a great cast with a really weak script. Most of the time the show is boring and Matt said they took 13 months to film. I was like "Really? For this shit?". The show is all talk, no action.
I feel like he did love her (show Daemon) but he loved Rhaenyra more. You could see in his face after her death, the sadness in his face. I agree they should of had more scenes between them. It’s sad because I could feel the pain (emotion) from Daemon’s reaction 🥺❤️

well...i feel bad for laena. i think he loves and respect her. but he misses his homeland and he isnt happy in pentos. in the whole ep 6 daemon isnt acting like daemon. he is supresses himself while with laena but i think he is yearning rhaenyra. he couldnt forget her and westeros.
Well, he shouldn’t have married Laena when he clearly had feelings for Nyra. He sentenced Laena and his kids to a terrible life. This isn’t my Daemon because family is supposed to be his one redeeming quality. Book Daemon had a happy life with Laena and loved his girls. Show Daemon, however, is a deadbeat father and husband. They now even release more footage where Daemon was apparently cheating on Laena with a servant so the writers messed this one up really bad.
@@paulinutec yeah i saw these photos and i agree with you. book daemon had a lovely relationship with his wife and had a peaceful life but show daemon was so...idk he looks like he doesnt want to be in there. its unfair. i think writers wants to potray daemyra as soulmates. thats why they ruined laena's and harwin's stories. i love daemyra but i was so mad after watching ep 6. they deserved better. especially laena and her daughters.
@@lvileo I couldn’t agree with you more! Daemyra is my otp, but what they did to Laena made my skin crawl. They’re such bad writers they couldn’t portray a stable and happy marriage between them because in some way it would take away from his later marriage with Rhaenyra? Hell no.

@@iriswatt4275 hbo keeps releasing stills from deleted scenes. They released one where Daemon is close and acting romantically with a male servant. In the actual episode you can catch them being intimate too. It’s during the dinner with the prince Daemon touches his arm suggestively and the servant smirks

I literally spent all of Monday crying over this 😭 I’m such a sensitive bitch, but like COME ON. To do their relationship this dirty and to involve his daughters as well? SICK before the latest leaks came out I was so confident they were gonna show them content lmao like maybe Daemon wouldn’t be in love, but he would love Laena and his girls. Instead I got this wet rag version of a man who dismissed and was cold to his wife, treated her as inferior and cheated on her with servants 💀 what in the actual f*ck pardon my language. And now this kinda ruined daemyra for me? Episode 7 is gonna be epic for them so much content and I can’t even look at Daemon without wanting to castrate him(I know it’s the writers/directors/show runners fault, but this is the version we have) I want Baela and Rhaena away from that freaking emotional cripple before he traumatises them more. (The show making Daemon a dragon purist and dismissing Rhaena is so whack especially since he claimed Caraxes, he didn’t just hatch to him) like wtf is this…I hope the girls go live with their actual family - Rhaenys and Corlys. Especially because Daemon will fawn over Rhaenyra’s boys while he can’t even take care of his own daughters. I’m sorry for the rant, Sof😂 thank you for watching🥹💞

For me, I was already meh with the way they did daemyra 'cause it was extremely rushed. I know next ep is gonna be a fest for the shippers but for me what mattered the most is how these characters would come to feel; like how alicent came to hate rhaenyra, how daemon came to love/seduce rhaenyra etc Yet we saw nothing. So while I know the next episode is gonna be enjoyable for lots of people, the rushed relationship and the butchering daemon got in the latest episode have turned me off completely.
I knew from the leaks his relationship with Laena was gonna be a disaster 'cause the showrunners clearly hate her character 💀 But I was completely caught off guard with Daemon being a shitty father to the girls.
I just don't see how they can undo it. I hardly think the writers even care. I'm definitely dreading for all the other characters I enjoy in the book 'cause the show has made me very weary of how they'll be portrayed 😔
@@nyxldx I totally understand how you feel😭 the choice they made to not do the entire season with young rhaenyra is a mistake. If they did do that we could have gotten better daemyra development and other characters would have had their time to shine. The finale could have been the time skip or start season two with a skip. I liked what they were doing until episode 5 where daemyra just didn’t make sense? He shows up and then disappears like a magician? What?! Hahaha anyway it’s clear Daemon doesn’t give a shit about the girls and there’s literally no way to fix it(not that they’re going to) because I saw new stills and the girls are being comforted by their grandparents while Daemon is playing a valiant protector with the strong boys 🙄 i want to take out his freaking eyes lmao
Even in the book, he loved Rhaenyra more but yeah he did love Laena and when I watched the episode I was like that wasn’t how she died at all. I mean yes she lost the baby but she attempted to ride her dragon one last time in the book but before she could, she had tripped and hit her head then died a few days later. She never asked to be burned alive by her dragon
@d bollman here’s the thing a dragonrider’s death isn’t death by fire…it’s just dying while riding your dragon. So the show made up some bs that was supposed to appear “empowering” but after the way they treated her the entire episode it was very far from that

Even Laena’s own death wasn’t about her and even her own death was about Rhaenyra. Three guesses as to why they changed the manner in which she died! 🤦🏻♀️
The showrunners were acting like they were doing her character a favor by letting her go out on her own terms, but they could have done this same death scene in Driftmark. She could have been home like she kept asking for in the show, Rhaenyra could have been there for her like in the book and Daemon could have been more affected. Why was she being held hostage in Pentos?

The way their relationship was shown bugs me so much. In the book version he literally challenged, fought and killed her suitor because he wanted to be the one marrying her and here they made it clear that he got with her as his second choice. He was so cold to her! Laena deserved better than this

@@paulinutec Yes, in episode 5. When Laena was going on about Daemon being "every young maiden's dream," but he tells Laena that's only because she doesn't know him, yet. A bit enigmatic, yes, but I count that as a warning.

I'm not enjoying the way the series is portraying Daemon, in the books he never killed Rhea Royce, he truly cared for Laena, he never took Rhaenyra to a brothel and left her alone. I love Matt Smith but this Daemon is not very likeable
I remember in one account he did take Rhaenyra to brothels, but, yes, he never left her there. It’s crazy because Daemon was already threading the villain line in the book but had some redeeming qualities. But show Daemon has none, he’s just a static plain villain ish character the morally grey part is completely gone
He is very likeable to many. Killing the bronze bitch is a thing he could have done also in the books to inherit runestone he is very powehungry and Matt is killing it.But they mistreated laena and her relationship with Daemon so much (perhaps) to push the green agenda who knows,he really did love her.... Although the fact that he wants to stay in pentos with her and the girls and hugging his daughters (which they cut from the show) indicates that.
