First, your skin looks amazing w/o makeup! I really like the Tom Ford Soleil Flawless Glow better on you than the NEW Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Foundation because it looks more natural and smoothing. I think the new foundation is a bit too dewy and does emphasize (really, really closely) the miniscule (lol) pores you have. I also think the new foundation looks a bit more like makeup and the original Flawless Glow looks more natural and skin like which flatters you. You always make me wanna go glowier!!! Beautiful! I might like your left side one better...I do! The dewy plumping is gorgeous! Thank you for all the homework you do for us!!
Thank you Kathy!!! I do love HA! It is my best friend : ) The Soleil Glow is similar in sheerness to the Guerlain L'Essential. The New Shade and Illuminate definitely has more coverage and is dewier and glowier!!! Thank you for watching. xoxo
This is a great comparison, Abby. I ALWAYS think you already have foundation on BEFORE you apply any foundation at all! It blows my mind. Then, I have to giggle when you zoom in and say, “It’s going to be scary.” 😂 You’re so funny! While TF Illuminate is nice, I do personally prefer Soleil Flawless on you. It seems more skin-like on camera - like when you wear Chantecaille Future Skin or Surratt Dew Drop, for example. I just read that both TF foundations contain Lavender Oil, but at least not high on the ingredient list. I’m glad that isn’t an issue for you. So it’s way past midnight, and I have to try my little Chantecaille Lip Chic sample in Tea Rose because it’s beautiful on you. 😗🌹🌹🌹 xoxo
Tammy- I adore YOU!!! And honestly- when I am zooming in and editing - I am like WHOA- this is going to scare some people!!! And yes- I am not a fan of the lavender oil but so far have not had issues but would rotate this foundation so would not wear it everyday just in case... and love the TEA ROSE! It is the best color!!! xoxo
I like the shade & illuminate side it seems to have evened out a bit better but maybe it’s because it’s a warmer tone? Not sure but your skin tone imo looks a little brighter smoother etc 😍
Oh Abby, I like both for different looks! I wore the Soleil Flawless today, hadn't worn it in awhile and it is beautiful. I did notice no one that I saw anyway mentioned "ingredients" and some of those ingredients are a bummer especially for 150 bucks. I might, might have considered it to wear once in a while (due to the ingredients) but the price tag for a few not so good ingredients I just can't..... You know I have so many foundations that I just love right now and it IS so much fun to try new ones! I do plan on getting the new Estee Lauder one, I don't believe I've seen a bad review yet. I know you can't wear EL and that's a bummer too! I must say the Shade and Illuminate side looks gorgeous though! I didn't notice the pores but I do know if something is too illuminating on me it Does bring out pores And texture. Anyway, I'm writing a Chapter again....let me stop rambling. Love you and you look Beautiful! xxoo
I love your CHAPTERS!! Yes- one of my hesitation is the lavender scent - I can wear it a few times but not on the day to day. AND I know I need to get over being scared of EL but my reaction to the Double Wear still scared me. LOL!!! I too- have so many foundations that I do love - so need to cause trouble. xoxo
Laura - you are so nice! I think they are actually TWO different foundations. I could see myself liking the Shade in Illuminate for days I want more coverage but on the day-to day- I would go with the Soleil Flawless because it looks more natural in person. xoxo
Abby Bliss White yeah- I could see that. I always prefer less when it comes to foundation. I heard the delivery method on the Soleil foundation is not the best-?
Hi, much prefer the flawless glow but I can't take my eyes off your earrings, they are beautiful Abby......please say where you bought them please!! Greetings from Ireland xx
You are so sweet! These are actually Kate Spade earrings and I can't find the exact ones - but these are similar- go.magik.ly/ml/tsi9/ I hope this helps. xoxo
Hi Abby! Thanks for this wonderful review! Your skin looks gorgeous, by the way...They look similar, but I prefer the Soleil Flawless Glow. I like the tone and it's finish. (Also like the price better) For $150. it would have to apply itself! :-) xoxo
A tough question, Abby - both look beautiful. I am siding a bit more on the Shade & Illuminate side - complexion is a tad more even and is flawless. The Soleil Glow is a bit more natural. I pulled the trigger on the Shade & Illuminate - I love TF and love this foundation. I also have the Soleil Glow which I use for a no makeup makeup look - the shade & illuminate is longer lasting - the Soleil Glow Gadd a bit after 7-8 hours. Shade & illuminate is similar to the Surratt Dew Drops (that would be a fun comparison) and of course the Dew Drops is less expensive, but it is .64 ounces and not 1ounce )makes it ~$117/ounce).This was a great video - thank you Abby❣️ BTW, which do you like better 😉
Ann-- I think I might have to do that Comparison because my first thought - was this reminds me of the Surratt Dew Drop foundation. THANK YOU!!! And I love the coverage of the Shade and Illuminate but it got a bit glowy by the end of the day for me. BUT I did not powder down initially - so need to keep playing... and of course, I still don't know which shade is best - thus the reason I am holding out until it launches in store..... I am glad to know you are loving it. xoxo
What skin type do you have? I have super dry dehydrated skin and am trying to figure out if it will work for me since Nordstrom isn’t giving samples right now 😭
@@ultraviolettas my skin is dry - both TF and Surratt (Dew Drops) work well - but my latest obsession is the Chantecaille cushion - lighter coverage but a beautiful finish - doesn’t settle into lines or get valet; wears well. No access to samples is challenging. Hope this helps.
i think the new one looks better from far away on camera at least (i do notice the pores when you get closer tho). that side of your skin looks plumper and smoother and therefore perhaps more youthful. that being said, your skin looks soo good even w/o any makeup on!
Christine- exactly! From afar - I freaking LOVE it- but up close - it looks a bit makeupy and the pore issue. NOW- powdering down right away did help but I will admit that i don't get that issue with many of my other foundations. Thank you for watching! xoxo
So helpful! I agree with so many that your skin is flawless and glowy on its own!! I have had the same experience, the S&I does not wear on my skin as beautifully as the Soleil (as in where did those big pores come from??) xoxo
Thank you Abby for doing this video. So thorough and really helped me out. I think they both looked great on you. I couldn't see the issues with your pores..lol. we all see things on ourselves. I definitely do think the illuminate is very glowy and has a more make up look but not heavy. I think if I didn't have the Soleil I would try it but I like less of a makeup look at 62 years old. I have the Chantecaille skin I the jar which gives me a little more coverage if I need it and just love the feel of that one on my skin. When you describe it as cool on your skin that is exactly right. Wondering which one you like better on you... could not tell the difference in color on camera...which color did you like better on you. This one looked less pink I thought.
Jill- I am still a hard fast FAN of the Chantecaille Future Skin - so to be honest- it has to feel BETTER than that to really get me excited! I still like the way the Chantecaille looks and feels on the skin - thus, I am normally a 'ooh I gotta try this ASAP' person- I am actually glad I got samples. The 4.7 is definitely more pink and this 4.5 is a bit more neutral. To be honest- I could not tell the difference on the skin once they were on- so that is good news for anyone who wants to purchase online. The differences are SLIGHT! Always something to obsess over!!! xoxo
@@AbbyBlissWhite I just wish that Chantecaille was not in that jar. Question does the Sisley bronzer look orange? It doesn't on you and I have been wanting to try it. Everyone loves how it feels.
@@jillpappas6508 I wish the shade range was better too! And I avoided that bronzer for the longest time because I thought it looked ORANGE and honestly - it is not orange on the skin at all. The texture is DIVINE!!! Did you end up loving IVORY in the Future Skin?? xoxo
@@AbbyBlissWhite I ended up getting the color Aura. It is good for winter and if I add a little of the DE D-Bronzi it will be perfect in the summer. My favorite bronzer right now is the Goa. Perfect color. I love bronzers now that I don't worship the sun anymore...lol
I think I love the softer glow side on you best. I am a fan of a less makeup-y look, soft and natural. Not sure I see that on the REALLY expensive side of your face. Sometimes I think all these marketing claims are just nuts. Holy smokes....$150? $88 is expensive enough, but if the color match was perfect and my skin adored it, I might be persuaded to buy it. Never the $150 one that’s just crazy to me. Thank you so much for doing this review!
Both shades look good on you and both give you very nice healthy glow. The new one seems to have more coverage which looks cakey and enhances texture on your skin. I like the older one which looks sheer and blur effect on your beautiful skin.
Thank you Yoko! I thought it made the texture and pore look a little more emphasized versus other foundations I have. I tried it again today with VERY little product but still having the same issues. LOL! xoxo
Great comparison. They both look very good on you (although your skin is positively blooming without any foundation. The New TF is a bit more glowing on you but I would probably chose the Soleil glow and save my pennies😀
Hi, Abby! I definitely like the Soleil Flawless better on you. It's dewy but not too dewy. It looks more natural. If the TF Illuminate is this glowy in the middle of winter, it makes me wonder what it would look like in the middle of summer. As for the difference in the color swatches, I honestly can't tell the difference. Regarding the cost, why pay an extra $62 when you already look flawless with the SF? As always, you look great, and I'm loving the Tea Rose lip color.
First off, your skin is so beautiful without any foundation on!! They both look lovely, tough call! Do you like the new one enough to purchase the full size? Thanks for the review Abby!
Alisa-that is a great question! I can't believe I have not ordered a FULL bottle already and seem to be on the fence. I like the way the Chantecaille FS feels better on my skin thus the hesitation. This is CRAZY! I am also still holding out for the Victoria Beckham foundation because I really like the primer- so... I guess that gives your answer. LOL! Or my answer : )
Thanks for the comparison Abby! I liked the Soleil color shade a little more and actually thought the Flawless may be too overall glowy. Although I love a dewy foundation I think it’s more flattering when the glow is more dominant on the high points of the face. I thought it helped when you powdered. I’m nitpicking because both looked good. I’m going to be in Nordstrom’s tomorrow so I’ll get a sample. I just ordered the Sisley Anti Aging Foundation for a little more coverage so I hope I don’t love the new one😘
Marjorie- I think it is good to be nitpicky- you gotta love it!!! I do love that Sisley one but what color did you get?? I bought it before but had to return it because the color was off-- this was before I could go to the counter... I loved the look of that one and the skin benefits!
Abby- A Nordstrom Sisley gal matched me to 02R Organza. Like most advisors she felt I looked best on the pinker side. It looked beautiful. I’m still trying to replace my Cle de Peau which was a little more coverage than most of my current foundations.
@@barnes166 I think I started with Vanilla - I bought it off of Beautylish and it was not the right color : ) I am wondering of O2 might be right for me... you see where my mind is going. LOL! I remember loving the finish but not the shade range.
I think I like the Flawless Glow Foundation better, but it’s hard to tell the difference. And if it’s hard to tell the difference, do I really need the new $150 foundation??
hello abby ! i think the shade & illuminate side looks better. the coverage is more even and effect is smoother. the light dusting of powder definitely took care of the pore issue quickly. the soleil glow side was a very sheer evening of your complexion, reminding me more of a primer than a foundation. having good skin means you can very well wear both ! my preference is still on the new one, as i prefer a perfecting and natural finish, which is exactly what the shade & illuminate does. one question though - do you have light coming in at your left side ?
Thank you Angeline!!! I totally agree and I have two windows that I sit between but the LEFT side does appear to be getting more natural light that day. Hmmm... that is a good call! Thank you!!! I think both of these foundations are pretty and just two different ones. If you want more coverage and a flawless look go with Shade and Illuminate! More skin-like - day to day coverage- Soleil Glow. Woo hoo! xoxo
The right side (your right) looks nicer to me...pores less obvious (as you noted). Thank you for this...it was illuminating....(sorry, bad pun!). These are both a bit pricy but I am thinking about the Chantecaille Future Skin (hope that name is correct). For some reason I tend to have a problem with foundations making pores more obvious...and a little whitish. Anyway, I enjoyed this video very much. 😊
Thank you for watching Lynn!! And of course, I loved the PUN! AND yes- I am a huge fan of the Future SKIN!!I have not had any problems with pores with that one. xoxo
They look the same to me. They look flawless. Maybe it has something to do with your already flawless skin. The Chantecaille just skin tint just arrived today and it didn’t really wow me at the beginning. It has no coverage. But later on in the day, I took some selfies and it is really really looking good. Now I’m interested in what other foundation you could influence me into buying lol hi to satchmo. I watched your video with you beautiful daughter yesterday and I agree with the rest, she should have her own you tube channel. That bully from school is an ignorant jealous fool who doesn’t deserve attention. I’m binge watching your videos and learn from the master
Vialamesa yay!!! Yes- the Future Skin is an interesting foundation and truly feel like my skin looks better by the end of the day wearing it. It was not love ❤️ at first try! But there is something magical about it! Thank you 🙏
I love a glowy foundation but the new TF appears almost too radiant. Powdering it down a bit helped. You look great with both-your skin probably looks a bit more flawless with the new stuff though. I'm guessing it has slightly more coverage?
Hi Abby, I have been searching your videos for your reviews on the TF Shade and Illuminate. This video is great but I can ‘t find your video using the 4.7 shade. Did you ever decide which shade you liked better.? I am thinking of getting this foundation and I rely on what you have to say about it. Also, my coloration is similar to yours. Please let me know. Thank you in advance!
Espree- I DO think 4.7 is a much better match for me!! Of course, I still don't know if I have the EXACT match - LOL! BUT You know that I am crazy. I hope this helps!!! xoxo
I am on the eternal search for the perfect foundation (and the perfect mascara!). For some weird reason, I always seem to be going against the tide of popular opinion! For example, I love the TF shade and illuminate best on you, (most commenters said the soleil glow). And I’m sad to say, I don’t love the Surratt dew drop foundation very much at all. I can’t get it to work for me, it looks dry and not good at all! 😢 Another example, I happen to love the TF extreme quad from this holiday. So many reviewers didn’t love it. (Including Michelle Wang, another of my trusted beauty youtubers.) It’s ok, I’ve accepted that I’m different lol 🧐 Abby I’ve just ordered the Chantecaille future skin in ivory based on your recommendation. I trust your opinion and your videos are very helpful to me, you explain things clearly, intelligently, and thoroughly and I get a handle on the items you review. So thank you for being a great beauty guru, especially for us over 50 gals! ❤️😊. Sorry I went on a bit.... I could talk makeup and beauty all day!
I love that you are DIFFERENT and have different opinions on products! That is what makes MAKEUP FUN!! I love to learn from others and also know I can get into a RUT and need to push out of my comfort zone. SO thank you for sharing!!!! And for watching my videos. xoxo
Barbara- I don't trust the SPF in foundation. I know it says it has SPF 50 but the question is HOW MUCH would I have to use to actually get 50 coverage. Does that make sense? So I think of these foundations with SPF as just a bonus and will always use my big dallop of GLo Skin Solar Shade SPF underneath. Actually that is a good question- how much do we actually need to use to get the spf 50 in foundations? Like 1-2 pumps or more? LOL!
@@barbarabailey5767 I think so too!!! I don't really care for SPF in my foundation because I am bit sensitive to SPF - so when I saw that we actually need a shot glass of spf for your body- and at least a quarter for your face- I was like - I am going to stop using foundation with SPF- as my SPF - on my face. Thank you for the idea!!!!
Wow, don’t know! They both look great on you. But, I’m thinking the Soleil is a little more natural, especially for every day. But, I like the other one on you too! The shades are great on you, both of them. Darn, if I didn’t own the CdP foundation, I’d pick up both! Soleil for day, Shade and Illuminate for dinners out etc.
Your skin looks great without any makeup! But since you asked, I’d say I’m gravitating towards the left side of your face, the new shade and illuminate. It seems a bit more glowing, which is what I love. But the difference is small. If I didn’t know better, I wouldn’t know you have 2 different products on. The shade is such a close match, with the finish being the main difference. Is it worth $150 though? Ouch! That’s steep. 😂
i hate to admit it because of the price point, but the Shade and Illuminate Foundation looked better on you. I picked that side even before you revealed that it was the one with that foundation.
Fair enough! I think that is what I have been trying to figure out. I do like it but not in love with it. I have shelled out $120.00 for the La Mer foundation but I truly felt like it was an amazing foundation. xoxo
While I find that you look beautiful, as ever, I do not find that either foundation looks markedly better than the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-refreshing (on me) or what I’ve seen of Bite Beauty’s new foundation (at least to my eyes), and w/ the remaining cash, one could purchase a lovely (or portion of) eyeshadow quad... Simply my opinion. I realize some will simply WANT to use TF. 🌻
Thank you Ann!!! I totally get it!! LOL! I have been wanting to try that new Bite Beauty one as well. And yep- if TF makes someone happy then I am all for it : )
Janni- that is good!! It is just funny when you are editing and going WHOA- I have to show people this : ) I am always glad to help people make informed decisions though. xoxo
On camera the S&I looks better, like your skin is thicker. Not thicker, like tough and thick, but that thickness of youth, like your epidermis and dermis are thicker, meatier, and juicier. OK, I sound crazy. I really hope you know what I mean!🤣🤣 But with that being said, I feel that in real life you would be able to see the fact that it is makeup more than the Soleil Glow. So I guess it depends on why you want to wear foundation that day!!! If you want to look good for your partner and you plan on getting up close and personal with them 😘🤣 then wear the less detectable Soleil Glow. If you just want everyone to see how great you look while you're out with friends or shopping or something, then wear the Shade and Illuminate!!!😊😊😊
I totally understood what you meant-- and it is funny- because I edited a part out - but I was saying that I felt like my skin looked waxy but in a good way- LOL!! So yes--- there is a word for this but not sure how to explain it. And yes- these two are apples and oranges. If you want sheer skin like- go with Glow - if you want perfected skin with more coverage - then go with S & I!!! You are the best!!!

😗🌹🌹🌹
xoxo
LOL!!! I too- have so many foundations that I do love - so need to cause trouble. xoxo
I like the Soleil flawless glow more but your skin looks amazing. Period! Which one do you like more?
Laura - you are so nice! I think they are actually TWO different foundations. I could see myself liking the Shade in Illuminate for days I want more coverage but on the day-to day- I would go with the Soleil Flawless because it looks more natural in person. xoxo
Abby Bliss White yeah- I could see that. I always prefer less when it comes to foundation. I heard the delivery method on the Soleil foundation is not the best-?
@@Loralarify yep! I wish the put the Soliel in the pretty new bottle!!!
Hi, much prefer the flawless glow but I can't take my eyes off your earrings, they are beautiful Abby......please say where you bought them please!!
Greetings from Ireland xx
You are so sweet! These are actually Kate Spade earrings and I can't find the exact ones - but these are similar- go.magik.ly/ml/tsi9/ I hope this helps. xoxo
Thank you Abby x
Hi Abby! Thanks for this wonderful review! Your skin looks gorgeous, by the way...They look similar, but I prefer the Soleil Flawless Glow. I like the tone and it's finish. (Also like the price better) For $150. it would have to apply itself! :-) xoxo
Thank you sweet Robin!!!! xoxo
@@anndoucette4307 That’s super helpful, thank you so much! 💕🤗
@@ultraviolettas one thing - with the TF, less is more. TF provide the most coverage of the three
i think the new one looks better from far away on camera at least (i do notice the pores when you get closer tho). that side of your skin looks plumper and smoother and therefore perhaps more youthful. that being said, your skin looks soo good even w/o any makeup on!
THANK you Stacy!!! I am glad that I am not the only one who noticed it!!! xoxo
Thank you Amanda!!!! xoxo
Hi Abby. I prefer the glow one on you
Thank you Zoe!!!
Definitely prefer the Soleil Glow It looks more natural and when I wear it I feel like I have nothing on my face
Clarissa - you definitely do not feel the Soleil Glow on the skin. That is why i love it!
Thank you !!! You are sweet! And on the skin- you could not tell the difference between the colors. xoxo
Shade and illuminate looks beautiful on you!
Thank you Jenny!!!
I like the coverage of the shade and illuminate better and the glow is lovely
The coverage and glow is really nice!! xoxo
Will you be trying the Biologique Recherche Serum De Teint for us?
MK H - oh my goodness- I have not heard of this product yet??? But the answer is YES!!! I will go check this out ASAP!!!
@mk h - where did you see this product? I can’t find it online??
I spotted it on the official BR IG page!
@@beauty_enthusiast okay- I reached out to Aida Bijac-and they said probably launches end of February beginning of March! I am SO EXCITED!!!
Abby Bliss White Me too! Thank you so much for all you do for us💜✨
Thanks for the comparison Abby!
Abby I’ll let you know- I was surprised because I would have chosen Vanilla. 😉
@@barnes166 LOL!
I think I like the Flawless Glow Foundation better, but it’s hard to tell the difference. And if it’s hard to tell the difference, do I really need the new $150 foundation??
LOL!!! That is the BIG QUESTION Stephanie!!! Thank you for watching. xoxo
hello abby ! i think the shade & illuminate side looks better. the coverage is more even and effect is smoother. the light dusting of powder definitely took care of the pore issue quickly. the soleil glow side was a very sheer evening of your complexion, reminding me more of a primer than a foundation. having good skin means you can very well wear both ! my preference is still on the new one, as i prefer a perfecting and natural finish, which is exactly what the shade & illuminate does. one question though - do you have light coming in at your left side ?
Thank you 🙏
I prefer the Flawless Glow. But they both look lovely on you. 👍😊 (in the Shade and Illuminate, I think 4.7 was better on your skin tone tho.)
Thank you Melinda!!! I am nutty about matching foundations and have the hardest time. LOL! This is helpful to know. xoxo
I love a glowy foundation but the new TF appears almost too radiant. Powdering it down a bit helped. You look great with both-your skin probably looks a bit more flawless with the new stuff though. I'm guessing it has slightly more coverage?
Yep! The Shade and Illuminate definitely has more coverage and is pretty when you set with powder! xoxo
I hope this helps!!! xoxo
@@AbbyBlissWhite thank you so much! I hope I can get some samples first.
Another example, I happen to love the TF extreme quad from this holiday. So many reviewers didn’t love it. (Including Michelle Wang, another of my trusted beauty youtubers.)
It’s ok, I’ve accepted that I’m different lol 🧐
Abby I’ve just ordered the Chantecaille future skin in ivory based on your recommendation.
And for watching my videos. xoxo
Abby, I wonder if your results would different if you weren’t wearing spf. The new foundation is already spf 50.
LOL!
Abby Bliss White I have a feeling it really takes about 1/2 cup to really help. Could be a good topic for a video!
No worries Tensy! I agree that it offers great coverage and a flawless finish! xoxo
Hi Abby,
You are Amazing, is not TF foundation is yourself 💕.
Freundliche Grüsse von Schweiz
You are sweet!!! THANK YOU!!!! xoxo
Solieil Glow!
xoxo
I like the illuminate side better, but not enough to pay $150
And yep- if TF makes someone happy then I am all for it : )
Lol! No scares! We need the honesty without the lights and close up to make an informed decision.
Janni- that is good!! It is just funny when you are editing and going WHOA- I have to show people this : ) I am always glad to help people make informed decisions though. xoxo
Hi Abby, as I mentioned to you it’s way to expensive, here in Australia it’s $235 dollars. No thank you 😊
WHOA!! Ronni- that is crazy-expensive! I mean it is crazy expensive here in the US but in Australia - no thank you!!!! xoxo
try to do better focus
I like your left side better.
On camera the S&I looks better, like your skin is thicker. Not thicker, like tough and thick, but that thickness of youth, like your epidermis and dermis are thicker, meatier, and juicier.
OK, I sound crazy. I really hope you know what I mean!🤣🤣
But with that being said, I feel that in real life you would be able to see the fact that it is makeup more than the Soleil Glow.
You are the best!!! xoxo
There is no difference that I can see.
xoxo
