Today we're going to discuss the upcoming "new" weapon, the Kuva Sobek, this is set to release in Mai, alongside the Tenet Glaxion.
We go over Rivens, Progenitors, current state of the Sobek and clarifying when Acid Shells should be used.

Sobek with Acid Shells might as well be Saryn's signature shotgun. Between the Venom Dose aug and Toxic Lash it can clear rooms even on SP. It is a bit weak for most everyone else, though I haven't tried it with Garuda. I really hope the Kuva variant can use Acid Shells.

The Kuva Ogris can use Nightwatch Napalm, so there is no reason that the Kuva Sobek will not be able to use Acid Shells.
Thanks for the insight into Acid Shells. I was wondering how it would fit into a general-use build. Looks like I won't be needing it.
I managed to open a Sobek riven about a week ago, can't wait for the Kuva variant soon!

Just curious, how do you enjoy the Sobek, are you using it with saryn or general main weapon? I use sobek with saryn it deals good damage because of Saryn BUT its ugly to use. The gameplay is horrible for me.
@andrew2324g use it with saryn with venom dose and roar its insane im pretty sure it can scale to level cap
@@FatCJ haven't put roar on my Saryn, i heard it good Helmith for saryn, imma try it and hope it melt the mobs hahaha
@@andrew2324g roar is actually really strong on saryn cus it also doubles the spores damage helminth on the 4th
@@andrew2324g well I main Hildryn so every thing has no armor and with acid shells and my multishot crit damage riven
Modded for 33 crit chance seems bad but multishot is at 25 pellets

I bought a riven for Sobek, rolled Toxin/Grineer/infested with no negative.
Then friend tells me "Well, concealed explosives is much better than Acid shells".
I really hope the kuva stat buff makes up for it
Your friend has no idea what they're talking about. Aside from the fact that they simply go on completely different weapons, Acid Shells has way more damage potential than Hidden Explosives since it scales directly off the hp of the enemy you killed whereas Hidden Explosives does a flat 100 damage that scales with barely any stats and massively drops off once the enemy level goes higher than maybe 20.

I’ve gotten about 3 Sobek rivens and thought I’d gotten rid of every one of them but found out I still had one then came to this video (I got rid of all of them because no one told me there was a Kuva one coming) because I have never actually used the Sobek, I was made to see it as mastery fodder but I noticed it’s really strong

If they would buff acid shells so that they scale off the active health instead of the base health of the enemies, then the Kuva Sobek, when it comes out, would be a *very* powerful AoE shotgun that I would use a shit ton. But, one can only hope
I'm glad I hung onto my sobek riven mods. Neither of them are uber-fantastic, but both are fairly solid. One has a really nice flat damage bonus and a shock elemental damage bonus while my second sobek riven has two elements and a nice flat damage boost. Fun Fun!

They'd need to be literal god rolls to be usable, at least when they first drop, being one dispo. The bonuses are going to be worse than a standard 60/60, so there will be lots of stuff that will boost it better than that. The Sobek in particular probably needed an incarnon instead.

I might the only one with a build for variety here with the help of a riven I am able to run a
cold +shivering contagion
Radiation (radiated reload)
Gas
Acid shells + Shattering justice
Seeking Fury -reload and punch through
Or
Galvanized Savvy/hell
Chilling reload [bottom right mod slot]
I plan to use Mesa for a future Cold,Radiation,Gas,magnetic Kuva Sobek.
I feel attacked. I love impact on eximus to Paragon to get energy ammo n health like I'm playing a budget DOOM.
Acid shells will need testing with the status and defense changes once they land. Since they are changing health, armor, shields, and status there is a chance that acid shells becomes good. It might be an accidentam buff but stranger things have happened in warframe

I think the Kuva Kohm will be better than Kuva Sobek when the cold status changes because it is auto slash
What does he mean puncture wil give you extra crit??
In a sort of recent update DE changed puncture so that each stack adds flat crit rate to the affected enemy, and they did something similar with cold, but for crit damage. This is in addition to their normal effects.
Watch de release a sobek exclusive mod that turns all of that' impact dmg into slash procs just to troll us.

when they reduce armor and increase mob health acid shells might be ok.. will have to see.
If it does damage based on only base health, then increasing health scaling (DE is obviously not going to increase base health, since the base armor is not going to change) will make the mod even weaker than it is (since even armor stripping wont help it that much anymore).
So use the other augment then? It looks pretty solid
on a tangential note: I would love to see a shotgun mod come out with with a combination of puncture and punch through. Something like a discarding sabot round but for shotguns
I am personally a fan of impact as a melee aficionado, I enjoy setting up people for finishers and crowd control is underrated damage however is overrated in my perspective so very tired of this damage forward nonsense it's so very very VERY boring. Electricity is also underrated, give a little bit of status duration and electricity becomes slash adjacent and rivals heat in every capacity, electricity much like in real life requires more stacks to really take effect. How many actual applications of electricity are in a single lightning strike eh? Amperage is important to understanding electricity and thus is why status duration is crucial for electricity it's that amperage or overlap of electricity procs that is devastating. What looks like a single shock is most often in reality more strikes or surges than the eye can percieve in a span of miliseconds not seconds. Higher levels CC(Crowd control) becomes more valuable as does damage over time because eventually you will not be one shotting things in a properly designed game. Damage over time is better for higher levels because higher hp enemies don't die as easily etc this is the problem people who are against damage over time seem to not understand. Nothing and no one should be one shotting level 1k plus enemies this is a flaw in game design.
