@crooklynz718 it might not be but depending on what the Tigers want to do. Because Flaherty is gone so they are clearly building for the next few years by then Skubal will be a FA so ti keep Skubal while having losing seasons idk why keep him. You Taje a bad contract and give Baty and top 30 prospects.
There fna base has to realize their team won't pay Skubal and they are looking to shed payroll. They are a few years away from being a contender by that time Skubal will be a FA.
@petercoyne7676 I think it's a good and fair deal for both sides. Tigers get money off their books who won't contend for at least 2 years and get a young SS that I think will be good. A RHP prospect and Baty who can be in the majors right now
Outside of Burnes, most of the FA starters are prove it type of guys, so why not trade for a premier starter plus he’d be pitching in Queens which is a benefit. Skubal if he stays in the AL, he’s one of the Cy Young favorites if not the top guy. Don’t forget, the Braves are also looking to add at the deadline so that should be motivation as well.
I like the deal, it makes so much sense. Baez might actually get it together in this type of environment and we desperately need a SP that’s a stud. I’ve been a Mets fan for over 30 years and this puts us in a better position all around. Tarik Skubal is a young made man already which means you know what you’re getting. Pull the trigger Steve! LGM!
@andreminassian9740 I don't think so. I'd add another top 10 prospect but this video was for the annoying prospect hugger strategy want to win but don't wanna give up anything
They would prob cut Baez! But I would keep him n c if they catch lightning in the bottle! I’d try Batty?Kevin Parada(9th ranked prospect) he plays catcher, if everything goes right, they’ll be no spot for him because of Alvarez!
@marcrapaccuiolo2406 I mean that could happen but why can't Baez be a plus for this team. Getting a second chance to play with his buddy Lindor and now Lindor is the leader of this team. I think he would be solid for us.
Was it a moneyball mentality when he traded for Yelich as Brewers GM? HEs added money already to payroll and will again especially if he doesn't want to give up major prospects
Rob like I said in your other video I don't get these people personal look at how many spots were going to have open not every one of these prospects are going to be on this team you keep the ones we definitely need and the other ones you trade we have guys locked up in positions locked up the you're not going to be able to put four or five prospects on this team next year especially if we add somebody like a Soto
I Don't Think Mets Sould TakeThat Bad Contract It Always In Up A Mess But Give Up Prospect For Good Pitching I Like That Mets Could Find Another Hit Some Where Else Because Mets Need Big Hiter Right Now Offers Keep Stuttering That Not Good Trying Get To The Playoff.
@arthurgregory2171 they don't need another bat. The lineup has struggled for a few games. They need pitching. If your not willing tk take a bad contract then you must give up top prospects. It has to be one or the other my friend

@@luisvaldez6938 I'm on board with you with that. But I made this video to explain and show a deal that would appease prospect huggers and the bad contract you would have to take back to get a top line arm in the rotation
Really? The dbacks didn't either last year, the Phillies of 2022 didn't have a chance and the .509 2019 nationals weren't good either yet they all made the world series. The NL is not very good and anyone can be beat in the playoffs. Sorry but that's a lovers mentality and why some fans really don't wanna win but rather be negative and complain
So let me get this straight, you think the Tigers are trading an ace with 2 1/2 years of control for salary relief and no blue chip prospects? Ok
That won't be nearly enough to get Skubal, even with the Mets taking on Baez contract
@crooklynz718 it might not be but depending on what the Tigers want to do. Because Flaherty is gone so they are clearly building for the next few years by then Skubal will be a FA so ti keep Skubal while having losing seasons idk why keep him. The Tigers are not going to trade Skubal. Their fanbase would implode.
There fna base has to realize their team won't pay Skubal and they are looking to shed payroll. They are a few years away from being a contender by that time Skubal will be a FA.
Horrible trade. The Mets won’t be bringing back Baez and his terrible contract.
Tigers would never do it. Why diminish the return for their best player by attaching Baez to it?
Thats not a bad trade but baez i dont want back. Add chafin in the deal and we cooking..
Yes bringing Baez that great
You might be onto something there. I'm good with giving up those 2 prospects and the contract. Baty is good but only in the minors in my opinion
@petercoyne7676 I think it's a good and fair deal for both sides. Tigers get money off their books who won't contend for at least 2 years and get a young SS that I think will be good. A RHP prospect and Baty who can be in the majors right now
if thats possible do it and cut Baez immediately
Yes get the deal done
Great move but what do we do with the position player we don't have any open roster spots who gets cut

Also allows guys like Scott and Vasil time to adjust to being in the majors instead of being pressured to contribute immediately.

Rob for gm, clever trade, especially that cohen has done this type of deal before!
100%
I know Mets take on Baez contract but Detroit absolutely laughs at that deal and hangs up. lol.

@@TalkinMetsWithRobthat I completely agree with you. Only way to get excellent player without giving up multiple top prospects.

i like the trade but i don't know prospect to much because don't follow them to much

No blockbuster trade stopped it.
Don't mess with the rotation
Blockbuster trade coming for the METS? Better rwmember that STEARNS has implemented a MONEY BALL PHILOSOPHY.

No way the Mets take on Baez’s contract.
Is there anyway Baez can recover from sucking? That contract sucks so bad
We are looking way to much into Baez and not Skubal, it's worth the risk
@@TalkinMetsWithRob true. I'm trying to see some light of the dark side of the trade.
GOOD TRADE FOR A STRETCH RUN BUT METS WONT DO IT THEY ARE GOING TO SIT BACK AND WATCH THE OTHER TEAMS MAKE MOVES LIKE ALWAYS

How about give up baty and parada and maybe a low end prospect. Parada is blocked anyways and now Baty is too
@petercoyne7676 that's not enough for 3 years of control of just Skubal. If they take that then great. But there gonna want 2 top 5 prospects.
@TalkinMetsWithRob isn't Baty and Parada in top 5? Not sure where Parada is ranked but Baty is. I'll have to look that up
@petercoyne7676 Baty isn't ranked anymore and Parada is 9.
@TalkinMetsWithRob yea I see that but I'm still good with it for sure. We need good controllable arms.

That's a terrible deal😂😂😂 they want a Soto type deal with top 100 prospects none of those guys r top 100
