    I can recommend joining a Regiment/clan. They hold regular games which are not open to the public. They hold training sessions and train using real Civil War manuals. The leadership is generally very good with a Captain Sergeants and Corporals having roles in the group. This is a very large community which play this game with a lot of passion. If you only play the public games you may only see one server populated. If you scroll down you will see all the private locked servers of the Regiments (which they have to pay for) My Regiment has over 90 members. They don't all turn up for every game but we have a very lively Discord server. If you have any questions I will try and answer them.

      Maybe a stupid question but do confederate clans only play as confederates and visa versa?

    • @08shunter
      @08shunter Год назад +1

      @@TheConfederate1863 Sometimes it is necessary for a clan to play the other side because the teams need to be balanced for the game. But mostly they stick to their chosen side as much as possible.

      It's still wild to me that even though I've been back making videos for a couple years now, people are still constantly just rediscovering I returned. I did stop for years, my biggest regret during that time was not telling everyone what was going on. I was basically just establishing the foundation for my adult life and couldn't fit in a RUclips channel. Once I finally felt comfortable and stable I decided I could once again return. It's still a struggle honestly, but things are more systematic now. I did a video about it, explaining everything that happened when I came back to RUclips a couple years ago.

    I have over 250 hours in this game. Having playing it on and off for the last 3-4 years, and seeing it grow and get better and better. And it was already exceeding most AAA shooters in its alpha stage in 2019 except for performance. Although a server can host up till 300 players, the game started out only supporting 150 players. Playing when the server is full is great! But in my experience playing on a server with only 60-70 players is enough to still have that immersion and feeling of linnear battles of the 1800s.

      I believe they just raised the limit to 400 players. The devs seem to be doing right by this game.

    i would agree with many of you points here. For a long time i just played on my own. Then i got into a clan/regiment for the game - they did traning. On a weekly basis for a northen Caverly regiment. Will historical drills and all down to the letter. We did have a leder that unfortunate in the end was a bit of on a power trip, which like you said, its the people you play with that make or break the game. So in the end i have been not playing as much. But i still feel the base game super cool - looking forward to once the add in Caverly units. That way you can have Inf, Cav and Arty in the same battle. All player controlled :D

    8:00 What you're saying there happened to Battlecry of Freedom. Though that game was a far more casual expeirence and a bit wackier so small player count battles were still alright. A lot of its playerbase just up and left. There are bot battle bots and commander modes, but I think the majority of people were in it for big fun battles between players.

      No, I didn't have do. People shouting that already lol. Some of the memes in that game are pretty hilarious though. I remember once getting charged by a union guys once whose battle cry was, "JOE BIDEN 2024!" over and over again.

      Funny you should say that. Something I was going to put in the video, but ended up taking out, was that while playing as the south, I’ve noticed that some people, well… Let’s just say they take the whole role playing as the confederacy aspect a bit too seriously.
      Though anecdotally I’ve noticed that while playing as the south the officers seem to be more experienced than in the union, and I end up learning more about the game as a result. My theory is that there is a small percentage of the player base that exists that is effectively “confederate or bust” and will refuse to play as the union, in a way that just doesn’t exist for the union side. Thus by only playing the one side they become more efficient at understanding their side of the map and the effective tactics.

      Hi. Late reply, but we have a healthy EU community in WOR. Battle events are played Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And each of those days atleast 300 players are on for the closed events.
      The group I lead play our biggest event Sundays at 8PM CET. And for that event we are just short of 400 players in total. So lots of different groups to join.
      WOR really come into it's right when you play with organized groups.
