What was your favorite part of the episode???
I don't know but I laughed my ass off when what is love came on in the tunnel of love scene fun fact at first the woman on the wall is bobbing her head like the brothers do in the famous SNL skit in which it uses the song what is love
I loved that Annabeth finally called Percy Seaweed brain!
The interaction between Percy and Annabeth before entering the love boat ride
Basically the whole episode but definitely Percy just low-key fangirling over that hug, asking Annabeth on a date if they don't die, Grover pulling a William Parry Vs Mrs Coulter in the cave on Ares and Annabeth totally geeking out over the carnival. Also Hephaestus whom I have definitely adopted as my godly parent because he's so sweet and adorable. So yeah. The entire episode has my 💙.

I had to remind myself that Walker Scobell and Leah were acting, they are doing such an amazing job of making us feel so much.

Im just glad to see ppl making good comments about the show Ive seen some channels like one called "the antiwoke reviewer" make videos just hating on the series and of course a lot of it is Annabeth being black and stuff I mean its in his channel name after all. I don't get why these types of ppl who complain about stuff being "woke" all the time bother to even watch anything on Disney + they are giving Disney their money and supporting "woke" companies just to trash their content and post rage bate videos to get their like minded followers to bash the show too.

Percabeth was hardcore Percabething. Leah and Walker had me in tears in that golden throne scene. They care about each other and trust each other so much already 😭Also Grover playing Ares was so great. The irony of him calling the kids dummies....😬 He definitely is not the god of wisdom for a reason
I loved her after Percy turned into a statue and a bit refused to leave him behind
I really loved Ares attitude. He was giving that war vibe

Despite all the talk about how weird and messed up their family is, Ares and Hephaestus fit very well into various uncle archetypes when talking to annabeth
I am also looking forward to seeing Hermes as I also think that he will give some the fun and mischievous uncle vibes 😊
So I’m kind of confused. I’ve never read the book before and in this ep in the beginning they identify the guy on the motorcycle as Percy’s big cousin. But later in the episode we find out the guys sister is Athena. So does that mean he’s annebeth’s uncle since Athena is her mom?? Is kind of confusing. If that is the case wouldn’t that mean Annebeth and Percy are related…? That would be kinda weird despise there being ships so could you explain please..

@@Makingthemarks Yeah the books establish that the godly side of your family doesn't count because gods don't have DNA. you wouldn't date someone from your same godly parent but everyone else is fair game

Love to see personalities and aspects of the gods that we learn more about later on come up like this right off the bat. Hephestus and his speech is so spot on with what I imagined from descriptions of him in Heroes of Olympus. It's just like the directors and Rick and Becky said. They have the added benefit of having multiple series of books and knowledge of the world on hand that didn't exist yet when Lightning Thief was originally written. Every change really just makes perfect sense and fits so well.

Absolutely loved this episode. It's also probably my favourite one so far. The Percabeth stans must be absolutely reeling after this one. "Seaweed Brain"!!!
Adam Copeland is up there in wrestler turned actors with The Rock, John Cena and Dave Baustia. It was also really cool to see Hephaestus included since he wasn't in the book
By far the episode that strayed most from the book but when adaptations do something well, it is sooo GOOD. I love the development we see with Annabeth wanting to be better than the olympians and the way she was raised because of what Percy has taught her. All this character development is because SALLY JACKSON WAS AN AMAZING MOM
Now I see why Walker and Leah said their favorite scene was the tunnel of love. That was some superb acting. The alligator tears in both their eyes. Then Leah taking the lead with her Hephaestus monologue 👩🏾🍳💋. Also thanks for giving Aryan some meat to chew on. To show Grover’s smarts with the god of war. Favorite episode by far. More than made up for the shortness of last weeks.
Each episode just keeps getting better & better! And the percabeth scenes in this episode were so good 😭❤
the acting was top tier. the scene where percy and annabeth are arguing over who would sit in the chair i was brought to tears. the way they were willing to sacrifice themselves for each other and the way percy was looking at annabeth and how annabeth was crying-and when he asks her to try and free him after when she says “you think you had to ask” and percy just sadly smiles is when i fell apart. their eyes had so much emotion

Walker and Leah acted incredibly well in this episode😭 their acting is improving every single episode and I am here for it!! These kids are going places❤👏

The Gods have been exceptionally cast. The entire show so far. And i love that Grover gets his moment to shine here also.

SO MUCH RIZZ IN THE EPISODE HOLY also i hope we get an admission of feelings in the series even though it doesn’t happen in the book for percy and annabeth. i feel like the show is setting it up for that a lot earlier than the books did:))
Honestly, when Annabeth mentioned in HoO that she started to have a crush on Percy when they were 12, I wondered when that happened bc 1. We're in Percy's mind at that time and he's very slow, and 2. I love Percy, but... lowkey.... why? 😅
Watching this show, I totally see it. The way she talked about him, and also the way he talks about things. He's shown to her that there are other ways to be, and she's changed because of him. That's the effect Percy has on ppl in the books, he changes the status quo and makes things better. I totally see it now and I love the show for it.
I still kind of what that slowburn torture with a sweet payoff at the very end. But we don't know how far into the series Rick will be able to get adaptions on Disney+. I hope to see the Heroes of Olympys series as well but if that doesn't happen, maybe they should give Annabeth and Percy more time and development from the start.
The kindness and comfort with which Percy comforted Annabeth as he was dying,,,,,,i can't do this,,,,,,

Adam Copeland is tbh a very very good actor. he carried this episode so much. very positively surprised. But all performances were REALLY good
I'm so happy they're getting the vibes of the gods right! Adam Copeland was perfect, as is Dionysus' actor (don't remember his name off the top of my head).

So if and when we get to the season 3 finale of the House of Olympus series, we will all be boohooing, based on how Walker and Leah are performing in this season 1 episode.

Like they're already giving a good performance now, imagine when they're all grown up and has so much experience plus also familiar with their characters? They'll have to give them the oscars by then.

What is Love being added to the tunnel of love scene legit made me scream laugh
When Percy was saying "im okay, I'm okay, I'm okay, im-" I literally almost started crying. I knew he'd live, but the acting was just so sad. I have too much empathy 😭
Lord have mercy walker was incredible in that scene and Leah was spectacular they are amazing actors and I hope that show will get another season

It was a good episode. I love how faithful this show is been to the books. In fact, the show actually inspired me to go back and reread the lightning thief for the first time in years and so far it is so accurate. It’s awesome!

As someone who is a long-time professional wrestling fan since childhood, I'm happy to see Adam "Edge" Copeland in this.
Him as Ares is basically his wrestling character, but I loved it.
Also, and I was admittedly slow to it, the beginning of the Percy and Annabeth romance was titillating.

Edge actually made a pretty good Ares. This show is the definitive Percy Jackson adaptation, the movie was a different movie all together with some stuff from the books sprinkled in. Also how funny would it have been if he rocked up on his motorcycle and Metalingus was playing (his wrestling theme song.)

7:32 this has been in my head since episode 2 when annabeth push him in the water. What happened to Percys abilith to stay dry. When he came out of the water from his fall on from the Arch, he was soaked. In the books as he stays dry even when he is in the water even on this episode when he and Annabeth came out of the water he shouldve been dry
This episode was almost entirely different from the book, but I still enjoyed it. Really wish we would’ve gotten what happened in the book though because I thought that was really interesting

I have two questions maybe somebody can help me with. The not so urgent one (because I'll figure out next week) is whom Percy is tackling to the ground in the promo for the Lotus Casino episode. 🤔 The other one is bugging me though: I don't quite understand what Grover has gotten ozt of pretebding to be an Ares fanboy? He played it like an interrogation, but Ares didn't tell him anything he hadn't known yet? 🤔

Basically it’s explained in the books that the Gods don’t have dna like humans. So for example even tho Poseidon and Zeus are brothers their demigod children aren’t related and share no blood, so they could get together without any weirdness or complications, only rule is basically don’t date anyone that shares ur godly parent.
