I LOVE my active exhaust and use it all the time as I don’t like to bother the neighbors in the morning, I can even schedule it. Sometimes I’m not in the mood to be loud either so it comes in handy a lot.
I have the Active Exhaust on my 2019 PP1, and I think it's great!! Just my opinion, I'm old, 50ish but this exhaust is loud when you want it, and quiet when you want it. I put in Sport + and when you get into it, it's effing loud, almost better than full Track mode, better cackles and pops i find. It is a man 6 speed as well, if that makes a diff. Quiet mode is convenient when you wanna roll home at late night and not piss neighbors off. And by quiet, I mean quiet, it works well. Maybe it's just me/age, but I don't need it ultra loud all the time, it's nice to have the option. I think Ford nailed it with the factory Active Exhaust.
Yeah the technology is definitely great! I enjoy the fact that you can have quiet mode to not piss of neighbors but still have fun in sport or track mode. It’s even better for people who are satisfied by stock exhaust and don’t have to worry about spending extra to upgrade. I’m sure you’re Manula PP1 GT is very fun!
My 2019 A10 is tuned with active exhaust and x pipe. Its a weekend car. But I drive it to work every couple weeks. I could never cold start this car at 530am in an echoing garage WITHOUT an active exhaust. Ever. So, put me down as active exhaust = GOLD.
Yeah I’m definitely thankful for the quiet start! I have Corsa extreme active exhaust but having quiet start and having early start really helps not piss off the neighbors off.
I like the option of having active exhaust on my car. If someone gets a loud aftermarket non-active exhaust exhaust theyre pretty much stuck with it all the time. IMHO the 5.0 can sound “blatty” and pretty gutless if you don’t choose exhaust carefully. I agree with many of the statements in this clip and appreciate the info.
Yeah I agree with that. I have Corsa extreme active and like being able to start in quiet mode. I can see non active Corsa extreme being too loud for cold starts. 5.0 is also tricky with exhaust I still prefer my old 4.6 sound over the 5.0, sounded like a true muscle car and hard to go wrong with pretty much any aftermarket exhaust
@@Scott-to8ri yup! I had a 2006 mustang gt 4.6 3v too. I had flowmaster outlaw axle back on it and it sounded amazing like a true muscle car. It took me a while to get used to the 5.0 sound, it’s more modern
@@unedited98 yeah it’s very useful! Quiet mode is such a blessing while still being able to put it in track mode. I’ve grown to love the active exhaust on my Mustang
This is like 500 years ago but i just got into mustangs in general and this is the exact video i was looking for. Hopefully i can get a reply to some questions 1. If i buy a mustang with the 401 pack does it automatically come w the active exhaust from factory or is it still a separate thing regardless? 2. If it doesnt come w active exhaust from factory, will adding the aftermarket active exhaust give me the "select exhaust mode" option? 3. If it wont give me those options on the dash then how exactly does an aftermarket active exhaust work? How would i be able to change exhaust modes?
1) no it doesn’t. Active exhaust is a stand alone option 2)no it won’t add the exhaust selection just by getting aftermarket exhaust 3)you won’t be able to change exhaust modes and valves won’t work. The car from factory needs to come with active exhaust. Hope this helps!
I love the Active Exhaust on my EcoBoost because it gives the quad tips, agressive rear defuser, and I don't plan on upgrading it (it sounds the best an ecoboost can sound.. aftermarket makes it sound even worse imo). I would suggest anyone who buys a Mustang to get it too ONLY if they do not plan to upgrade it aftermarket. The non-active exhaust on a Mustang GT sounds too restricted and raspy, and the non-active EcoBoost has no sound at all.
Right on point! I took couple drives and was content at first but after 6 months or so I found it lacking mustang roar and ended up paying a lot to upgrade. For Ecoboost I completely agree to have stock active exhaust. Aftermarket options sound too civic like lol. Active exhaust is a good bet there for sure
Yeah I have grown to love the active exhaust feature. Quiet start feature is great to not wake up the entire neighborhood with corsa extreme lol. Congrats on your new car btw! Did you get 10 speed?
Video summary: He likes the Corsa exhaust better so he regrets paying for the active exhaust. Listen to all the exhausts before deciding, which people are probably doing if they are on youtube googling exhausts :)
Basically yeah. The Corsa is active exhaust too so I’m glad I have the active exhaust feature. But yeah if disturbing neighbors isn’t an issue then better off skipping active exhaust
I kind of wish I had active exhaust, would be nice to have the ability to go quiet at times. Although would probably get annoying to always have to override since the majority of the time I would want it loud. Great video! Subbed!
I love my corsa extremes but I wish they came with beefier resonators to cut back on the harsher high end frequencies that the coyote is known for with these high flow systems.
Coyote in general has rasp unfortunately. Deep exhaust sounds good below 3k rpm but anything more they don't sound good. I kinda want to try H pipe and see if that cuts out the raspiness a bit
Unfortunately no. There are couple other aftermarket active exhaust (roush comes to mind) but you can’t get oem active exhaust if not equipped from the factory. Hope this helps
Wow you changed my mind! I was really wanting an active exhaust, but hearing that I can just put an after market on, for cheaper, while still keeping those cozy cloth seats. And it’s not really worth the extra $6,000 for the performance package
Yup as long as you don’t need it to be quiet because of neighbors and we’re gonna upgrade the exhaust anyways I’d go aftermarket tbh. PP1 for $6k is also not a good deal unless you track your car. PP1 used to be $4k which wasn’t a bad deal
Bro, your tips need adjusting. Or do they adjust along with the sound? ;) I love my active exhaust.....only thing I am debating is whether to H pipe or not. Keep the vids coming.
Haha I know I need to get them readjusted. Depends on what type of sound you want. H will give you muscle car sound while X will be race car like. With 5.0s it’s hard to get them old muscle car sound so some H pipe sound very muffled. I used to have a 4.6 GT and loved the sound of it. Definitely better than 5.0
Resonator delete is the way to go, don't listen to this guy. It's way louder, plenty for the avergae person trying to get a little extra noise. Obviously it could be louder but at that point just do a cat back and longtube headers for the ultimate obnoxiousness. I have the X-pipe because I wanted it to sound more European, get the H-pipe if you want it to sound more like a Dodge or a Chevy. Both still sound "like a coyote" though.
