      I think that we're learning we have limited thinking. That we don't give enough credit animals oh, perhaps we feel Superior to them as we take over where they live in their habitat Helen may try to reclaim just a little piece of it we call that a nuisance. I think I've also learned and help others that you realize that you're no more important than an animal or a tree or the president we are all equal We're All God's Children I think that's what he is trying to get us to learn

    They are entirely correct about captivity. You take in an animal for captivity, it is instantly your main priority to care for the animal, and extend it's life as long as possible. That's your duty when you turn an animal into a pet.

    • @gotskinn
      @gotskinn 4 года назад +17

      I agree & will never stop telling people how sad it is to own a wild animal.
      My neighbors dog killed an entire skunk family...except one really small baby that was brought to the door as a PRIZE.
      I called everyone rehab near me possible..they all said to kill it (RABIES)
      So now we have an almost 3 yr old skunk. Its sad. She has the run of our home...but hides unless it rains or she goes into heat. She was a friend so badly but my dogs are just mean to her. As much as I want to...I cant take on anymore pets. Especially another destuctive wild think like a cat or ferret.
      If I had to do it over again...I would probably have a much colder shoulder.

    Interesting fact...Zebras are considered extremely dangerous, even in Zoos!
    Unlike domesticated horses, when a Zebra bites, it does NOT LET GO!
    A horse bites and releases.....a Zebra keeps bitting down and are difficult to convince to let go!
    It's one of the big reasons why Zebras were not domesticated like the horse.
    They CAN be trained to ride....but it takes YEARS. Apparently the instinctive fear of a lion on ones back is deep seeded in their DNA.

    I look after urban foxes in London England and, contrary to popular belief, domestic and feral cats and foxes are the best of friends. The feral (and domestic) cats show the foxes which houses give them the best food, the foxes, who are taller but generally more light weight than domestic cats return the favour by acting as a (illusion of) a bodyguard (foxes ALWAYS defer to cats, who Always eat first) despite this the foxes also share their earths with feral cats and the extra warmth pays off for both. My older cat Gattotti had a fox friend , Lucan, when they were both young and Lucan has continued to visit and he is a beautiful healthy (albeit a bit overweight and pathologically jealous of Gattotti and I interacting with other foxes) male fox who has introduced his partner Vulpa, and this coming spring will be the fourth generation of grand children and his fifth litter. So I know from experience that cats and foxes can be friends so why not coyotes and bobcats who are similarly matched size wise? Thanks for uploading these lovely videos. xxx

      There is also the experience of the Lion, Tiger, & Bear who were thrown together when young. They were also neutered. They were rescued during a drug raid when still young, & taken to live in an animal sanctuary. At first they were put in separate pens, but were unhappy until moved into the same pen. They all lived & played in the same pen together for several years, until one recently died. www.snopes.com/photos/animals/liontigerbear.asp

    Baby animals don't know they are different species, they just see a playmate in the other one. That's why being raised from very young together, they will retain a friendship probably their entire life with each other. People don't realize how smart and adaptive animals can be, and don't give them credit that they can actually maintain memories throughout their lives. I predict these two will remain friendly and playful with each other forever!

    The fact that that guy has a PhD in canine behaviour and said that Coyotes don't live in packs baffles me. I am a Zoologist and yes, they do live in family groups. They are only solitary when hunting (usually they hunt alone or in pairs)......it is a myth that they do not have family groups. Coyote family groups can actually be quite large.

    • @sid2112
      @sid2112 5 лет назад +4

      Agreed, but I think he meant traditional pack behavior. They don't hunt in large packs the way wolves and dogs do. Had to shoot a lot of them on my grandpa's ranch in the summer. They really are a big problem for cattle. Life, eh?

      @@psuedonym9999 I'm not saying shooting wildlife to protect livestock is right, but I always find people that eat meat are fine with livestock being killed, but throw a fit when farmer kill the wild animals that can do alot of damage to their business.
      I'm not saying it's right to shoot these predators, but I understand why some choose that route.
      If more people ate less meat (not necessarily cut it out, just treated it as a treat, instead of something for every meal), then less livestock is needed, the farmers can charge more, making it easier to factor in the cost of raising animals that are lost to wildlife and with less livestock there will probably be more wild prey animals about..... Not great for crops, but for some reason shooting say a rabbit isn't as shocking as shooting predatory animals!
      Granted that's an ideal world were vegetarians and vegans realised that meeting meat waters half way is how you can make a massive reduction in amount of livestock deaths and make free range possible for most if not all livestock.... But that requires all the vegan nut jobs to get off their high not horses, because that would be using an animal and compromising to make an achievable difference lol!

    My 10 lb Maltipoo had a similar relationship with a farm cat at my grandparents' place. They always played very well together. Every time we brought Gracie there, Patches would come out of no where and tackle her to the ground and they would roll around for a few seconds, disperse for a little break, rinse and repeat. We didn't have any dogs nearby that were close enough in size to play with Gracie when she was a pup. Patches' mom abandoned him on the farm and he didn't have any siblings to play with so puppy and kitten wrestling was great for both of them.

      To some degree you are absolutely right. But that's not always the case beacuce of a predators instincts do not get fully evolved until the animal hits puberty. I don't say they are gonna turn on one another. But you always need to have that in mind cuz of the consequences a clash between this beautiful and but also dangerous animals could mean

    • @blackwing97
      @blackwing97 4 года назад

      unfortunately wild animals aren't like animals who've been domesticated for thousands of years. it sucks they'll have to be separated but it's the safest thing for both animals. instincts can kick in at any time, or one could simply go overboard while playing.
