- In this X-Plane 11 tutorial, you will learn how to update the default navigation database via a Navigraph subscription. I will also demonstrate some of the new features of the Beta Cloud and Desktop applications including a movable map.
I'll be honest, I used to think paying for this was dumb until I started flying online and had no idea where controllers were sending me. You've sold me, sir. Thanks!
Your tutorials are brilliant. Thank you so much.
thanks a ton. I just got Navigraphs and couldn't figure out why it wasn't updating the FMC. That whole "click the update" button got by me. :)
Thanks a million! You helped me figure out the workings of the FMS as well...
Before I go ahead and pay for a Navigraph subscription for a month just for these two instrument procedures, any chance you could confirm that they have the NAVDATA for the GPS for the two instrument procedures for CYRO (Rockcliffe) since they weren't in place when I purchased XPlane way back when? Only feels right to ask about CYRO since you're from Ottawa!
Great helpful vid for flight information
Hello Mr. Vriends. I agree with you that Navigraph is a nice feature. I and a devoted simmer, and real world pilot. I am older now and not able to fly often. When I earned my Lic long ago we learned navigation the old fashion way. This new tech is nice. I have seen many of your videos and want to thank you for posting them. There are so many kiddies that buy a cheap cam and open a youtube account and then post pure junk concerning this subject. Can you provide a good list of informitive, serious tutorials? That would be nice
thank you for your explanation
Can an older Airac Cycle be copied and pasted into a newer updated Zibo Mod? What path does Navigraph need to be Pointed to... the FMC Folder, Custom Data Folder, GIFP Folder, GNS430 Folder, etc?? One of em, some of em, or all of them?
I completed what you advised and I am still getting the message it has not updated..
This helped so much, thank you!
Any chance that you can make a new updated video? I am having a hard time getting my navigraph linked with xplane11. When I click the little triangle to link it says no simulator found or something to that effect. Not sure where I f'ed up. I have a navigraph subscription and followed your video but somewhere got lost.
Sweet! I can ditch my ForeFlight subscription and get this instead. Way better value for the money. :)
But you cannot fly "for real" with navigraph..
So how do I switch from flying X Plane to the Navigraph display? I either missed that point or you didn't mention it.
Hello wayne.. there's a couple of ways to fly with navigraph.. You technically don't switch X plane..
I'll go through some steps here as they sometimes differ..
1. Install Navigraph FMS charts manager (you do have a paid subscription i assume)
2. Make sure you select your X-Plane/custom data folder to have the stuff installed properly.
3. install AVITAB...
4. install simlink, either the standalone or included in navigraph charts
5.. now this tricky part that is not mentionned.. Mine was only finding FSX, so i had to run simlink and add xplane manually...
6. start navigraph charts (let's assume the windows one and not the tablet or phone)
7. Start X-Plane. (you should see also at this point a little plane with a green radio signal in the task bar
8. In your setup menu, under network, make sure to select only the "broadcast to all app on the network" this will save you some headaches.
9. once you select a plane, go to the plugin folder, choose avitab, and you'll have a tablet pop up.. click the navigraph button to link you navigraph account
10. go to airport and type and airport code to see the details... that should do it...
11. you can click the little arrow (top right) on navigraph display window (not in xplane) to sync Xplane and you route.
And if you buy a plane that has avitab included (like the challenger 300) then the tablet is part of the flight deck.
hope this helps,
Marc.
Hi man, I am kind lost with my x plane 11. I am trying to update the GPS 430. I noticed that some airports like Lachute (CSE4) appears like SE4 and I can not load any approach. If I bye the navigraph FMS data will it fix it? thank you
since i dont have it is there a way to have a flight plan wbsite that can generate with the base x plane sids and airacc
how do you get the fmc in xplane 11 to use the simbreif files
Thank you for the help!
Not working for me. It doesn't load anything into XP11 v11.5. Even doing the manual install into Custom Data doesn't change the stock Airac Cycle.
X-Plane-12 VR and Navigraph. Really apprecaite the content and knowledge shared. any experience of using Charts from Navigraph while in VR ??
Thanks again for the great video and I have Navigraph which is worth the money I paid.
Ok I bought navigraph for my x plane 11 for Mac but I never could get navigraph to work for me it would never fine my x plane folded I’m using steam for my x plane but for some reason it will not find x plane 11 in the steam folder any help will be nice thanks
I purchased the Navigraph subscription and used their data manager to update my Custom data folder expecting to see Nav data in the FMS. Nothing in the FMS, but new nav data is present in the custom data folder. Further research says I need to install the GNS430 folder and it's data in the custom data folder. How/ where do I get the GNS430 data and will the data manager keep it updated?
Gord Rose Q8 has a video on that.
hi,are you still able to answer questions regarding xplane 11 and navigraph???
I’d rather just stick to the defaults 😉
Thx for the great tutorial... I have a question though... Why did you use V5 airway instead of lets say PETES/DARKS/ZIRKE waypoints to get to your final approach? How do you go about choosing your route?. thx again!
Marc.
If nothing appears on the "Addon Mappings" page, go to "Settings" and select manually your simulator, (quite at the bottom of the page), click "Save" and try to Scan again.
For me this worked. [X-Plane 10 user]
Don't work there is no manually button
CHANGE OF PLANS IT WORKS YOUR A GOD LEZ GO I LOVE YOU NO HOMO YOUR AMAZING THANK YOU SO DAMN MUCH HOOOOOLY I THOUGH I GOT SCAMMED!
thanks for the video! just one question: once I unsubscribe from Navigraph, can I keep the FMC data that has been updated before?
Does it update the X-Plane GNS data as well? Or just FMS?
Nice video, I will consider getting Navigraph once i know what i'm doing. Lol
I want to play single player only but how come I don’t need Navigraph because I can’t perform correct automatic landings because of the stars are not the same as on simbrief can someone help?
with navigraph you can uptade simbrief. just update the airac(something like that) see a video if u dont know how
Can you still fly to anywhere you want and still plug in flight plans without updating the nav data?
@@kewqie how
You talk about an overlay using OBS, is it possible for doing an overlay from within X-Plane itself? Not for video production? Or do I need a second screen for that? BTW just subscriped to your yt channel and I like your tutorials a lot
Thankyou
I have a paid subscription for Navigraph, my airac is 1902, but when I load the flight plan in to xplane it tells me the xplane airac is 1708, have tried everything TIA
Is it possible the default 737-800 is the cause
@Mark Tyrrell If u don't subscribe you ain't getting the updates!
Hi Jason, I have problem. I did the update but still out of date Airac(1610) now is 1802. Please get back to me I am running out of options. Thanks
Did your install the software required to update the AIRIC? If yes, i suggest opening a ticket with Navigraph.
Thanks, I think the path was corrupt for some reason.
It takes too long to map. What could it be?
Hi Jason, your videos are very interesting and professionally presented. In my simulations, I'd rather fly light aircraft - single or twin props - usually under VFR rules. That said, I'm not particularly interested in updating FMC's navidata but instead, I would strongly appreciate my Garmin 530's flight plans be fully updated and valid for every flight I plan in X-Plane 11. So here raises the crucial question: Does Navigraph includes GPS data updates or not? I would truly appreciate your kind response. Happy flights.
Hi Nick. I didn't make this video but I can still answer your question (that is probably answered, being 1 month old, but here it goes anyway):
Yes, Navigraph will update all your simulator navigation data. Even if it's the GPS that you use and not the FMC, it can also compute departures and arrivals, etc. So it definitely benefits from an updated AIRAC.
yes it does
I can't really connect to the navigraph for xplane11 is there a fix.
What aircraft are you using?
Your Navigraph Simlink must be running on you Computer to get the link. I have set the Navigraph Simlink to
start when computer is ON.
Hello, folks. I badly need help with the installation of the Navigraph FMS Data Manager. I have a license. I have followed Jason's instructions but it has not worked. I am willing to pay someone to help me. Thank you. Larissa.
hello Larissa, here are the steps to follow to get it to work for start to finish...
1. Install Navigraph FMS charts manager (you do have a paid subscription i assume)
2. Make sure you select your X-Plane/custom data folder to have the stuff installed properly.
3. install AVITAB...
4. install simlink, either the standalone or included in navigraph charts

hope this helps,
great video thanks... can you show us how to upload a flight plan from simbrief to navigragh and into the FMC system cheers
Thanks for the information and great video. I'll give it a try. But I gotta say X-Plane is such a let down for having worthless charts and moving maps.
Geez, you gotta pay for the game, $40 on average per airplane, another 20 per airport if you want a detailed one another 20 for traffic holy shit I thought my training was expensive O.o
to what folder if i use manual installation from navigraph do i put the files for airac into in Xp laminar version? custom data?
no the navi info goes into the GNS 430 folder that you should have created, in X-Plane´s main program in the custom data folder
is the airac still available to me wehn i unsubscribe?
nice tutorial btw!
Yes. You just don't get new ones.
Jason Vriends thx for the reply!
it didn't detect xplanes for me
this don't work for me
This info is totally useless to 1st time installers. You are only showing an update. How about a video on how to install it. I just bought a subscription, and have no clue on how to install it. I have a Steam copy of X-Plane 11. When I ran the navdata scanner, it said "No addons found" So, okay, I'm thinking it doesn't see my X-plane, so I tried a manual install, I pointed to the X-plane folder, but THEN, it wanted me to point to a folder inside the X-plane folder. So where does this stuff go? Aircraft folder? Custom data folder? Output folder? Resource folder? Please explain in greater detail STEP BY STEP. The way you explaned it is totally useless.
Install instructions are on the web site, just take the time to read
Brian, I am surprised at reading that you do not know how to install navigraph. X-Plane needed a folder in Custom Data named GNS430 this will then be shown in the Navigraph Data manager, if you use it. Put the check mark in and select the update. Manually you just downloaded the X-Plane GNS430 associated files and unzip them to the new GNS430 folder that you have in Custom Data. And you made a video on using Orhto4xp?
hello ultrawide display user
you doesnt explain nothing about the moving map
you doesnt speaks in englishes
It's nice but paying for this? No thank you.
I know that. I would understand a one time pay, like 5-10€ and you get everything, but a subscription? That's stupid.
Why pay if you can get it for free ? just look for a torrent ! pirateproxy.cam/search/navigraph/0/99/0
after a year of flying with online ATC. You'll realize you can't do with out it. No biggie, $30 for the FMC data a year. I can swing that.
Its because the information is repeatedly updated, it doesn't update once or twice in a lifetime, it updates once a month. You don't pay a one time fee for cable or rent do you?
Updating doesn't cost anything. I don't rent. I don't watch cable it's full of commercials.
I am having a problem with Updating GNS 530 appreciate if you can help
