I am a little late to the party with this band . I made a Steve Earle station on Pandora it played this song and a few others by them . I am a fan now big time i am hooked . I am 66 and i still get so stoked when i hear a great band that i never heard before
Evan has gone through so much in his life, but he is as gorgeous a purveyor of prose as there is in modern music. He is so tender, yet cuts so precisely to the core of human emotion. His voice lilts ands and lulls you into a trance, but snap out for just a moment and you hear so much pain, so much intelligence, all distilled into one painfully beautiful package. So glad to hear he’s sober and doing well, and that the boys are getting back together! They’re still one of the most underrated bands in music. “Never failed to cut a trail whenever times were bad.” I mean, come on.
We had the opportunity to open for these guys in Beaumont TX...They brought about a movement in our area that has been unprecedented since. The demand for Red Dirt and Texas country has increased 100 times since their show on Crockett Street. Thanks guys for the show, and thank you for allowing us to open for you.
You know, you got me thinking. I'm from down the road of Beaumont and I grew up in the sticks but have lived every where else since...chasing something else I guess, but now I think I had it all along. Looking at these guys is like looking back in time to the late 70s and 80's country where I grew up and making it cool again. Thank God we are getting some of this back.
Red Dirt country is amazing. These guys are awesome beyond words. I put this song on loop in the mornings sometimes as I get ready for work and it makes my day great.
So much talent on holiday/on haitus. I hope it is temporary. Best of luck, I really want to hear more from the Troubadours. Good Lord Laurie, I love ya!
I like this Band as much as you guys! But I have a doubt about the lyrics. I think this song is dedicated to his daughter? Could you go against this supposition? Greetings from Mexico City!
We can’t decide what we love more, House of Blues Restaurant and Bar's burgers and fries or the Turnpike Troubadours! Watch the next episode of our series Extra Fries with Evan and R.C. here: ruclips.net/video/OrO3nP2MBbo/видео.html
Wonder if Evan ever watches these old live videos? .. I wish he would come back to Wright City and do a small show lol I promise I wouldn’t tell a soul on the internet 😂 evan if you see this…. Keep it in mind 🤷🏼♀️
You clearly dont know RRB, Pat and Jack, because if you ever met them you would know that they are far from sellouts and spend as little time in Nashville as possible. The fact that their music was so good that it was picked up by national radio and that all the national radio is controlled by a few execs in Nashville does not make these guys sellouts. The only thing they ever sellout is concerts all over the country.
No I don't have the luxury of rubbing elbows with folks like that. This is coming from a listeners stand point. To me their music changed and it got away from their Texas country roots. They may not spend much time in Nashville but it has started to get the feel of the "pop country". Just don't to see them steer away from what they are good at producing.

I’m 22 and I’m sad that I’m late to the party too but really glad I did end up finding them.
Same here! I am saddened to hear the full story but will play these gems forever.
Only got to see them live once. Had tickets to more when they started cancelling. But it was one helluva show. Hope they reunite
You guys are never too late. They will be back
hey, they came back! hell yeah boys!

I am prett sure you are correct
The great turnpike!
very late to these guys and i found them through my divorce. really brought me out of a rut, cheers!
An upright bass with a jazz drummer in an alt - country red dirt band. Best band around in a good long while. Get well, Evan.
I'm convinced it's a cover song somebody else wrote it!! 100 percent positive.
Uh no. It is not a cover song. Evan wrote it with a former Turnpike band member, John Fulbright.
Âm Thanh lời Nhạc rất hay.. Good
best thing out of Oklahoma since the land rush !
Jarod from Subway, on drums
❤️
love how faded that Hummingbird Gibson Evan has worn out over the years.
With Evan back healthy the band is better now that ever before! They are the best band in music
I LOVE this song it describes me 😊but does anyone know the meaning of "she talks about the stones"???
Joyc baaby - i thought it meant Rolling Stones
probably means she worships crystals
that was a joke. its the rolling stones.
Rolling Stones!!!! Come on!!!!!!!!

Holy Chevy adds!

Anyone find that exact same hat yet?
"Di-uh-mons an Gazuhlean"
I knew the bass player was a gangster when I saw the wild turkey hat
Anybody know where to get that hat Evan is wearing? It's awesome!
Ducks Unlimited

Jacob Overton they’re from just outside wright city
True story Laurey aka Lorrie
If Bob Dylan and The Band had a baby…….
Too bad Evan was a major alcoholic. Loved seeing these guys live when they were sober
The dull toothpaste perceptually prefer because teller startlingly tick near a vacuous wound. barbarous, neat cheetah

Lets just hope they don't follow RRB pat green an jack Ingram an become a bunch of Nashville sellouts
