This is why I both hate and love El's route, you only hear about the war to take down those that Slither in The Dark while in the other routes you actually play the battle to take them down. Not sure why this battle is missing in El's route.
Because in her route the slitherers are effectively getting what they want with the destruction of the church, so they lie low and prepare for the cold war. In the other routes they get desperate and try to act more directly.

It seems that they were running late, and rushed to finish the last route of the game left to complete. Because of the rush, they made Edelgard's route perhaps less elaborate and refined than the other routes, what with less cutscenes than all of the other routes, and even a shorter story altogether. Had they spent more time together, perhaps the route would have been longer, with stages in which you wage war against Those Who Silther In The Dark. Crimson Flower would have likely also had more cutscenes. But alas, it was not so.
When you ship Linhardt and Lysithea, it is said in the ending tha Linhardt found a way to remove Lysithea's crests and save her. Maybe, just maybe, through a lot of harrassment, Byleth managed to force Linhardt to remove Lysithea's crests, just so he can have peace.
