  • Thank you to Lucas Owen for inviting me to Walthamstow.
Recently, some continental ringing was rung at St Mary's, Walthamstow, in remembrance of the fire at Notre Dame. The bells produced a melancholic sound that was quite beautiful to hear.
At St Mary's, the bells were mostly cast by Pack and Chapman, with the 3 trebles being cast in 1896 by John Warner and Sons, and the tenor in 1852 by Charles Mears. Together, they create a robust and punchy sound. They ring nicely, albeit at a slightly slower pace.
    Tenor 17-1-1 in Eb

What was the reason for ringing continental on these bells? Cool Bells and ringing. I know someone in Grantham did a similar thing for tribute to Notre Dame just after their fire.
