Echo Dungeon: Shader Progress

  • The player now has a "memory" of the dungeon which gets updated when you hear an echo and fades away over time.
    I have also started creating the echo animations themselves, using blender to wrap a texture around a circular mesh with animated UV, then recording it into a gif. This method allows me to easily draw different enemy echoes as a single, straight line texture, relying on the mesh to render and animate it.
    The next step will be to get custom shaders applied to the echoes themselves so their visibility is also based on what the player can hear.
