Looking out of our holiday appartment's window: mountain peaks peeking out through clouds on what promises to become a bright day; farmer mowing and swathing the grass on the alluvial plain; some snow fields left on the heights. Feeling intimidated by the course the American democracy seems to follow. Finding consolation in connecting with the Sentimentalist and, certainly, the many mindful kindred spirits.
Great post--sad to say, some of it needs much repeating--the serious stuff. Say Hey: Enjoyed your Willie Mays and ode to ageing poem in sports lit, sure did. Best, GW
happy day Jack. Being a bit of a sentimentalist myself, I almost feel a bit of sadness and I'm not sure I can celebrate this day the way I did for my 74 years. But!!! They haven't buried us yet! Sorry to be so glum but Monday was a very sad day. So, chin up and "Put on a Happy Face", as one Tony Bennet sang out so beautifully back some 40 or 50 years ago ( and probably many other artists!) .
Today is my birthday; though, because of the country's current debacles, it isn't a happy one. I wish I could go "Back Then". BTW, what brand/roast coffee do you buy, that makes you slurp it so?
Starbuck’s French Roast. I am sorry about how your birthday going from one celebrated all over the country to this. However, I shall offer a grateful slurp for kind you‼️❤️🎶

Man, is this lyrically and personally beautiful. I am deeply grateful ❤️🫲
Love Vivi, a star is born.
Yes!! I told her. She agrees. And sends you a loving woof‼️❤️

Glum is a paradoxical affirmation of what profoundly matters. Thank you, Friend.
