GAME CHANGER! Do not use the included hex keys to work on this truck. Do yourself a BIG favor and for $12 get a set of these hex drivers off of Amazon. The ease of taking apart and putting back together truck is amazing to me and you are much less likely to strip the hex head screws! Very informative video, buddy. It did look like a bit of a headache for sure but but thanks for walking us through it and showing us each step. You don't know how helpful that is especially for us guys trying to get back into hobby and learn how to work on these RC thanks again, buddy.
Thanks! Sorry I didn't include the tear down.... I was just going to do the video on the motor mount mod but when it was such a PITA tearing it down... I felt I had to include it! I am getting ready to edit a video on the Laegendary Thunder and how to put a 27t pinion gear. It when from 31 mph to 44 mph or the included 2s LOL (but it isn't good for more than a couple minutes of running as it gets too hot... but on 3s and 4s it should really move now!!!).
Sounds frustrating! I ordered a new set of screws off of Ali Express for 99 cents! I just used a new email address and it was a new customer special! I will try them, they sound like they may be better than the stock screws. I will put the link in the video discription in a minute.
Thank you! It sounds like there may be an easier way to do it (pinned comment) but yeah, just to change a pinion it is a lot of freaking work with that crappy screws that like to strip!
Those soft screws are the worst. I got a screw kit off jennys for a Arrma 4s ,they are only like 6 bucks a screw set for almost every model and they are good grade .got one off temu and they were as bad as the ones i took out lol. Enjoying the other channel you're working with on the legendary s.
Those Arrma screw sets are great! I got one for my Bandit and Big Rock and was shocked how reasonable the prices were! Thanks for the tip - I will stay away from the Temu. Yes, Britt is a good guy and like you a veteran!
Ya i feel ya on that truck for repairs mine wasnt glued or nothing on it but can u take the front and rear shock towers up and out with leaving that brace hooked up and take it out in a big unit......
I think I'm happy now that we didn't order one! MJX did send me a email while we're on our trip, I'll explain more when we get home, I've tried to avoid this thing as much as possible and just enjoy family time!
I had contacted them several months ago, and then after saying they would work with me, they became really flaky… if I remember right, they told me my channel was not big enough after I had waited and gone back-and-forth with them. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Now I can’t get Jetwood to respond to me either so go figure.😂 Maybe that guy is still having a family emergency.🙂↕️
Yeah that's ashame. I don't have one of these cars but I heard from a friend that the screws were soft more like aluminium instead of a stainless steel hardware.. you need to get yourself a good set of drivers so you can push into the head hard and get some better leverage , those little Allen keys they give are crap.
You are so right! I have been meaning to get a nice set as it is so hard working with the crap I have (and what came in the kit). Better than nothing but I figured a good set might help not strip things as easily! I have been putting it off as my budget keeps getting chewed up on other stuff!🙂
That's how I slotted my motor mount and I run a 30 plus tooth pinion. I got my 14-210 up to 111 MPH on a clean pass and crashed at 118 MPH. Sorry that the Jetwood gave you so many problems. I love my 14-210. Check out our videos.
If you use the diff case from the 14-300 series, you can get a bigger pinion in there. You will need to add additional screw on the bottom to support the diff case.
@@dexterdcdexter wow! I didn’t know you could fit a 30 tooth in there! I definitely need to go check out your set up. That is the fastest. I’ve heard for a 14-2 10! Unreal. What motor were you riding? I’m assuming a 3650? Did you use the stock amount or did you do an aluminum mount through the frame?
@@BriansRCStuff 29mm can with the stock motor mount. I will do a video on how I get that rear gear case open and quicker options of getting to the front. I strongly suggest thicker diff fluid if you plan on more speed. I have found that some of there diffs are filled sufficiently and some hardly have any diff fluid at all. MJX Definitely has some quality control issues when it comes to things like the diff fluids, the glued on center brace screw and scree quality in general. But what I can say is, when you dial them in, they are amazing. My MJX tracks way better than my RLAARLO AK 787. It's not even a fair comparaison between the two. That is a pretty incredible statement considering their size difference, cost and use case.
@@RC-Closer1313 that new truck looks awesome! I would love to have one… But they will never send me one That being said this Jetwood truck is really fun… Don’t get me wrong. It is not fun to have to work on it and leave it pretty much you’d be good to!
Nice, do your remember what set you got? I just put a link in the video discription to the set I got. Seemed most folks said they were better than stock and I got the set for 99cents as a "new customer" on Ali Express (I have like 10 emails lol.... their new employee deals are so good and they don't care if you use the same address over and over... just need a new email).

Hope it all holds together for ya! I had enough with the 14302 and had very similar issues just accessing the diffs
