- The LEGO Ideas A-Frame Cabin will be releasing February 1st, 2023 (for LEGO VIP) and February 4th for everyone else for $180 USD / $280 AUD / £160 / €179.99 / $239.99 CAD. It has 2082 pieces and 4 minifigures.
I didn't think I'd like this set as much as I do - this really wasn't on my radar, but I loved building it with Ross (two instruction booklets!!) and it's perfect to reminisce on childhood camping trips! It's packed full of outdoorsy accessories and I'm pleasantly surprised at the detail, build, and quality.
My main issue with the set is the trees though - they're lacking when compared to the original fan design. I assume this was budgetary, but it's still disappointing.
Let me know what you think!

What letter of the alphabet should they make a cabin of next?
I give it an A
probably something i will eventually get but not a day 1
@@MrSaurusOfficial i see what you did there
I think I’m good with A 😂.
Goofball! 🤪
I instantly gasped when I saw the otter. I'm in 100% It looks so cute! Love the lake, waterfall and natural area. Well done Emily and Ross!
Shoutout to Ross!!! This aframe set is fantastic!! Your city is looking great too! I love the custom work all around. That large green area will be sick when it's filled out completely! Keep up the great work!
It looks awesome in your city!! I sometimes don't like how new sets look in some LEGO cities (mine included) but this one is not the case! It fits so nicely and looks great! I also love so many of the really unique parts
If you could make some trees like the ones that come with the cabin (or the ones in the booklett) and add them around your city it would look nice and add some colour / detail. One with pink leaves would be cool, like a cherry blossom tree.
Also for the area at 9:56, you dont have any way of getting from the city to the nature area yet so maybe a grand staircase to connect the 2 areas
Awesome video!!! I love how enthusiastic you are while building with lego!
The ducks swimming at the waterfall are the cutest thing in this city!
The retaining wall and waterfall that you and Ross are working on and the landscape around it looks phenomenal!! 😍
This set is pretty good, I agree with you about the trees.
There should be a body of water from where the waterfall comes out of.
The end was funny 😂
I have the A frame set. There is a small set that also has two otters and a ATV with a Minifigure that would go really well with the A frame otter. Inexpensive set too.
Mini figure in the canoe with the gun - “You paddle that canoe harder!😂.
I think that was just an extra faucet! Awesome build! Thanks!
We watched too much White Lotus and Ross decided it would be appropriate to create a crazy storyline with this set...
This set is a must have ! Congratulation for your city, it goes well, you could add some nice birds in this Green part of your city 👍👍👍🥂🍾
This placement is so good! I love that's it's at an angle. My wife and I got engaged AND had our wedding at an A frame cabin so I cannot stress how excited we are to build this together! 😀
The A-Frame Cabin looks really good angled on the grassy hill👍
The cabin looks insane!!!! It looks so good in the city.
I think it a great set. I think it would look great near the tree house which I have arriving today! I will definitely add it to my wish list. Shout out to the ducks enjoying a swim! 😜
A-frame looks fantastic! Fun addition to your city
Wow, emily, this is really great with the A-frame cabin and hills and water.
The A-Frame cabin is a perfect addition to your LEGO City!!! Also I am obsessed with your giant Scooby Doo Plush lol Thank you for the video!
The new LEGO A-Frame Cabin set looks great with all of its exterior builds. And the inside is cool! I might be interested in buying this set and added to my LEGO collection. But overall, great video, Emmasaurus! 👍
Oh my goodness!! It’s so beautiful 😍
8:48 you could add people rock climbing towards the A frame at the rock wall
Looks great, love watching your Lego City Updates. This cabin reminds me of a trip that my family made us go on when I was younger and we had a great time, but it was small and compact like this. I might need to grab this set.
Thanks Emmasaurus. So for animals you get an otter, squirrel, blue bird, cardinal and frog? No bear? Nice set.🤠
Love the blue flannel. Perfect for the video
I figured it would fit the vibe haha!
Looks amazing, Ross and you have done an amazing job on the city. Make another view point next to waterfall. Or make it like Multnomah Falls with hiking trail to view from the bridge.
Build those lush trees and add them to give a deeper forestry look. Also, if you are able to add a few different color blues to your waterfall, it really adds dimension. But, your waterfall is incredible as is!!
I like what I see so far. Beside the waterfall, add a staircase in to the park. Right now, how do people walk from downtown into the park? As for the cabin, you have all the trees clustered beside the cabin. Can you spread them out more or add more trees into the greenspace around the cabin. Is there a path to the cabin?
Maybe next to the waterfall, you could add some kind of wooden pier/point of view, that overlooks the mountain. (Like you can see in Niagara Falls..). So the citizens can enjoy the view on all the surrounding nature.
Love this! Ross was thinking of something similar using masonry bricks but I like the wooden pier idea too!
@@Emmasaurus Wood will add diversity in colors & textures..
maybe over your waterfall a lookout point or a bridge to walk over the waterfall so that more blending in the street, that was i more thinking about.
Thanks for making my day better
Around that waterfall you could do a little sitting deck with some tables and a small arch over the waterfall, just to keep its cohesive with the downtown section
I absolutely love that look out!
Great set review great City update 😁
I wish I was building this right now!
This was definitely on my radar. Anything that’s a full building. I want it. My first love is cars but my second are buildings
Love the A frame cabin !
THOSE DUCKS! What a tremendous idea.
City looking great
I love the trees it came with.
Very entertaining video! The Girl Scouts idea is cute.
Would be so cool if the white water splashes move up and down with the waterfall cascading!
The A Frame Cabin fits perfectly. Beautifully placed in your city!
This set is so Taylor swift folklore long pond studios core I need it
Buying day 1 and I’m excited! Will look so cool with the treehouse!
I always love you guys builds and this is goes on that list of super cool builds .. always looking forward to what’s next .. Keep building… P.S love the waterfall good job Ross would be cool to see some rafting incorporated
Your city is looking awesome, love what Ross has done with making the wall.
Are you planning to connect the city with the natural area? I think it would be pretty cool to have a pathway from the lookout down to the natural area. Or at least a ladder or something. But despite this I love the natural area so far!
I made a Lego record player months ago. I wanted some more detail in my buildings.
Loved the bluey reference, that is me and my girlfriends comfort show.
Pu at little viewing platform and stairs in the empty space next to your waterfall. Like a little scenic overlook.
Maybe some nice natural looking rock or wooden stairs next to the waterfall so the mini figures can go down to the bottom and fish and such
can you end every city video with ross singing the waterfall song? be a nice outro
Next to the waterfall maybe you should do a "secret" cave with the entrance of the cave somewhat covered with some trees.
I love the way the A-frame house looks.
Looks great 👍
About the waterfall :
I was thinking about how to hide that transition seam in the plates....
Now I've seen this vid I've got an idea..
Spann a 2x10 or a 1x10 from that 3L brick across the water.....
Maybe put some Brackets on it facing camera side....
Make it white like the Spray and maybe as some mist going down a bit...
This way you should be able to hide the transition....
And maybe if you play with it ea make the bank higher etc you could put stuf on that belt like a fish or Log withe a clip that could go down the river over the fall Pasing under that transition lip.... maybe make it also out of gray so it looks like a slit cut in the rock withe plantgowth etc....
Would be fun to see the fish etc go down the fall ...
I have an idea for beside the waterfall Maybe put like another dock or some sort of greenery and maybe some other kind of tree that you have!
Could always use some bushes and greenery around it to hide the fact that it’s a baseplate angled and placed and not perfectly attached all around 😊 Since it’s more of a natural vibe greenery could definitely fit right in
Really looking forward to this set, for sure! Are you guys going to be working the Treehouse, and Ewok Village sets into the same area as the A-frame, etc?
for the area next to the waterfall could be a cave with a bear or it could be a hidden hideout for some crooks
Really enjoying the progression of the city, what a step up in detail and piece work. Maybe later you guys could put some buildings and roads in the city at an angle like the cabin, make it look more realistic.
That canoe scene is the reason I don't go to cabin retreats 😅
You've done such an amazing work with the landscaping, it both looks natural and LEGOesque, and also avoids falling into the "too much detail" trap. It's the perfect balance between texture and smooth. It's quite inspiring!
The angle of the A frame cabin is also quite appealing, it has this little difference that catches the eye, and breaks what would otherwise be monotony. I believe you when you say it's been hard figuring out the LEGO maths 😬.
And that back well is absolutely great with the arches and the nexo shields details. I like how it integrates with natural rocks on the left, and the look out point is definitely its best feature. It'd be great to be able to get down from it to the ground with some additional stairs, but I'm not sure how feasible it is.
Ladyburg is such a handsome city, I can't wait to see more of it!
I love the did not plan to get, bur after seeing it. I can’t stop myself😂
It'll be fun to see you guys in LEGO Masters
The cabin looks really great and elevating it is such a cool idea. Why not have some water leading from the cabin to the lake and having the girl guides camp with a camp fire and some marsh mallows near the cabin.
I like the placement of the cabin but I think you should put green tiles or plates under it instead of the grey tiles. I think the grey tiles make it look like it was just placed there especially with it having the green plates under the stairs where as having green tiles there would make it seem like it belongs
Such a great compromising of ideas, progress is look great so far
It's cool for some reason I think of Sweden when I see it ya ya.
thank you so much going to that live
For the empty space beside the water fall you can do a pond
I love the look of the A frame cabin but i really get mystery shack vibes from it so i might turn it into that and do a small gravity falls theme in my attic
Очень красивый домик, и он отлично вписался к вам в Лего город!
Great location! I think they should make a T frame 😂 that would be a nice tall one 😂
U need to make a bridge where the road meets the waterfall
you can put the egg on the ground and put the scared man down as if he dropped the egg
Nice video!
lmao why does the girl have a gun. This will look so good with the Treehouse. Minds well get 2-3 of these and make a campground
I think it looks great. I like your green scaping. The only thing that bothers me is the location of the waterfall. Ross has done a wonderful job putting it together, but there is no water source to “feed” the falls.
His plan is to make it seem like a spring fed waterfall but we have been talking about rearranging the city to add another lake there.
How about you make a rock wall with a secret entrance in the gap between the waterfall and rock wall
Isso está muito bonito mano. Parabéns
Watching you long time but finally realised that I didn't subscribe 😅 It's done now 😇 Can't wait for Cabin in my collection 🙃
Wow I had no idea you were adding it so soon I love the design of it but I don’t think I’ll be buying it because I won’t have a use for it.❤
You need a few of the atv sets now for the cabin.
Next step, A-Frame Whataburger MOC! Lol
Build a bicycle bridge over the waterfall
She needs to get the motorized lighthouse for the city.
They should make a Z shaped cabin 😂
Hi Emma, I was wondering, can you build the RMS titanic Lego set and make another video about it please❤
Subscribed... it took me a few weeks to do it. I struggle with commitment.
The gun is the tap/ faucet.
Got to share this comment my son made (he’s turning 6 on Friday) when you made a comment on getting advice: “how are we going to tell them? we don’t have their phone number!” 😂
5:37 A flintlock pistol seems like a weird thing to include
Love the cabin but you need to upgrade your trees!!
Omg I love this my dream to have somthing like this imidete sub
Will you make a cave at the beach? Nice update
THEY SHOULD ADD A CAVE IN THE HOLE NEXT TO THE WATER FALL!!!!
what do you mean when you said that you've never seen a geo piece? It is literally in the daily bugle. WHICH YOU OWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also do you ever play with your Lego city like move the mini figures around and have a crime scene or something
I like the A frame cabin but I wish they had stuck with the original ideas set that we voted for. Also I am not happy that they changed the whole concept of the set from 2 men in the woods to a family. I will not be buying as I think lego have devalued the set
I'm not getting this as my budget is ten dollars but I'm glad they changed the trees. They look very difficult to make. I have made difficult sets in the past but would probably part out the trees if I got this set the way it was originally made.
So are reviews back???
can this fit on a 32x32 baseplate. Thanks
