  • BRAIN:(Human Brain)
*Brain is the main component of central nervous system
*Average weight of human brain is about 1.4kg or 3 pounds
*Human brain is found in skull inside the cranium
*Human brain is divided into three parts i.e fore brain, mid brain and hind brain
    1). Fore Brain:
Fore brain is the largest part of human brain which is divided into two regions i.e telencephalon and diencephalon
    Telencephalon:
*Telencephalon consist into a pair of cerebral hemisphere or cerebrum which are interconnected with each other by the help of corpus callosum
*Each cerebrum contain an outer grey matter called cerebral cortex and inner white matter
*Cerebral cortex is the seat of all conscious activities and contain over 10-50 billion neurons
*Cerebral cortex is further divided into four anatomical regions i.e frontal, parietal, occipital and temporal lobes
    Diencephalon:
*Diencephalon consist into thalamus and limbic system
*Thalamus is considered as gate keeper of the brain because it receives all the sensory massages of our body
*Limbic system include hypothalamus, amygdala and hippocampus
*Hypothalamus involved in homeostatic functions of our body like temperature, thirst, menstrual cycle etc.
*Amygdala produce suitable behavioural response related to environmental stimuli and also control feeling and emotions of longer fear, hate etc
*Hippocampus involved in the storage of long term memory
    2).Mid Brain:
*Mid brain in human is exist in very reduced form which contain reticular formation
*Reticular formation play an important role in sleep, emotion, muscle tone and some reflexes
    3).Hind Brain:
*Hind brain consists into medulla oblongata, pons and cerebellumy
*Medulla oblongata control many autonomic functions like heart beats, respiration, excretion etc
*Pons control the transition between sleep and wakefulness
*Cerebellum control the movement and balance of the body
