I think it's brilliant, It has me watching and rewatching to see if I can find a Spector that will go unmentioned ROFL we know Billy edited the video's so he saw them before uploading. I hope it makes editing more fun for him. I hates editing. 👻

Just a thought for Billy, about the hallway in the convent. Instead of moving the hall to the back to enlarge the suites. What if you take out the hallway wall of two rooms across from each other to open up the hall all the way across to each side, making like a sitting area in the hall that reaches all the way across to the windows on each side. This would break up the long dark hallway of doors and let in a lot more sunlight. Then if he wanted to enlarge the suites he could do as he suggested and just connect two rooms that are next to each other.

Had you thought of a lounge area before you get to the library? Open to the library…having the doorway a little further up the hallway.

One of the rooms could be a small convenient laundry/ utility, or a room for linens, spare furniture, or supplies?! Maybe a public space like a continental brkfst "cafe" spot or game room?!

Yes!!! Move the corridor and make all the rooms into suites. The corridor will have more light and the rooms will be bigger. Know they are not too small, but they are small in my view. You can not put too much furniture.
I personally would move the corridor and let the light into it.
Moving the corridor to the back would bring such a lot of light in. It would be amazing to see ..😊

@@janetpendlebury6808no it’s not. We have seen the apparition in other videos. They don’t like to talk about it that much but that place is definitely haunted. They talk about the creepy floors right in video. That’s why!
Those rooms are a perfect size for content creators.
I think Billy should have the hallway in the middle, so people can choose if they want a courtyard view or a back garden view. (If he chooses the corridor on one side or the other, he should put the corridor on the courtyard view, 1. Because it will be a shorter walk for guests. 2 because having rooms looking into the courtyard means all the other guests can look in on you, which is creepy.)
Corridor on the courtyard side makes sense. The bedrooms should face to the outside to enjoy the views (and for guest privacy).
I expect the windows will have shutters and curtains so no one will be able to see in.
Phil, it's great of you to help Billy out. But then again, that's what friends do for each other.
I think Billy should keep the hallway down the center. Because, with the entrance to the library being centered, the WOW factor of opening some gorgeous doors with Perhaps the old etched frosted glass panels in them (to allow natural light to come through into the hallway area) would be beautiful. Then when you open the doors, you have the combined WOW factor of the windows directly across, the beauty of the shelving & books plus the immediate impression of the opening to the floor below. The visual impact would be impressive and powerful.
** the suites can still be made, just would have to do them length wise on either side of the hall.
You can charge 5.00 a glass and put money towards remodel.

Might I suggest that you get rid of all that ivy growing up those tree trunks. In the long run it can kill them. Round our way on the hillsides of our valley (la Mérantaise) we regularly have trees falling down across the roads because they are completely covered over with the stuff. It only takes a few hard gusts of wind on a stormy night.
Someone in the future who makes the hole where the whisky is hidden, will enjoy having made such hole👍🥃

Billy, If you do put apartment/hotel rooms on the second/first floor I would flip it and put the rooms on the backside, put faux balconies with french doors (if possible), so the guests can overlook the gardens. Much more peaceful to enjoy a cup of coffee/tea watching birds/butterflies flinting about the flowering trees, shrubs, flowers, and vegetable gardens than looking at parked cars.

A bright and light flooded Corridor instead of that dark one in the middle would really be Great! I particularly like the one support pole in the Middle based on the new structure. Good thinking ha ha! ....and, Billy found the perfect place for the corner shelf: besides the Fridge!

0:19 you could invest in a push mower with a bagger to catch the debris. Or rake the grass. You can use the debris for a compost pile. You always need compost for gardening and maintenance. Sustainable too.
I had wondered what Billy was doing with the cellar or storage of wine this makes sense actually easier to access and use the cellar for storage and mechanicals if needed. Will be nice knowing Billy and a pantry too as I assumed the hallway would be one glad it isn't.
I wouldn't move the hallway at all. If anything maybe put some rooms together knocking through walls and call it a day. Make ensuites where they are needed. Why make more work for yourself Billy if you are reading ;)
If he had an investor he could make more money. Also renting the apartments Billy has said he were going to will bring income in. The library is a great idea and still have room for accommodation for guests. He can always hire you Phil to help manage rentals and so on or his sister or Ryan or someone else. I am sure you will advise him on how to manage the bar if he did decide to run it publicly as you own one. Lots of opportunities for income in future having friends like you to bash about ideas. You are a great friend to have Phil :)

I really can’t figure out why everyone talks about the convent as being “creepy.” Maybe some light fixtures in the hallway would make people feel better about the space.
When Billy first said on his channel to move the hallway to one side I thought, hmmmmmm? Maybe? But now, standing in the hallway it make absolute sense to have the hall on one side rather than down the middle; more like a sleeper train.
