    Plug a volume pedal there at the end, crank your amp's volume up, and use the pedal as your volume knob. Boom, you have a cranked up amp at home at lower levels. :)

    Vertex effects has a boost they say will add a much needed buffer to certain amps and make a non active effects loop be active , I don’t know what that means .
    That being said , can one simply do that with any buffer in an effects loop? They do claim their buffer is 10 times better than a boss or what have you .
    Can you break this concept down a little for me?

    Question: Sometimes I will be playing out of an amp with effects loop, and sometimes not (vintage Marshall, Fender, etc.) Is there a way to set up a pedal board where I can use the 4 cable method, sending some effects to the loop and some straight into the amp front end, and then also have all pedals going into the front end for an amp without an effects loop, without having to rewire the pedal chain to accommodate these two options? Thanks, Dan

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  8 месяцев назад

      Hi, danbegelman. Yes, that could be done. The easiest way is to wire your send and return to a pass through junction box like this:
      www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Dingus
      That would give you an easy access point for your FX loop send and return, but if you needed to run all your pedals to the front of the amp, you could just insert a patch cable into the jacks to complete the signal chain.

    After a vast research, I will summarize every video of effects loop for you: it's better to use reverb and/or delay. All other pedals can go in front of the amp.

    if you're tracking guitar, can you put a DI in the effects loop (at the end) to capture the sound of the pre- pedals, the amp's preamp section, AND the post- pedals, all before the signal reaches your DAW? as long as you run the DI thru back to the loop return? is that safe according to the physics/electricity side of things? i've been itching to try it, just because i'm curious about what it will sound like, but i don't know if it's completely safe or not, and that's an expensive oopsy-daisy to make.
    (long term i plan to get myself the neve RNDI so i can put it between the power amp and speaker load and REALLY get the full scope of the sound since it's built for something like that, but my question above stands as an interim inquiry.)

    I only have the Katana 50 MK11` and no effects loop. Is there any way I can get the effects of the effects loop with only my 50 watt Katana?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Год назад

      Hi Kenneth, thanks for your message. I unfortunately don’t fully understand your question. The effects built into the Katana are available to you via manual adjustment or footswitch. External effects have to go into the instrument input, there are no other jacks to connect anything outside of the amp.
      Please contact me direct with other questions for clarification.

    Should you plug in your pedals to the effects loop before turning your amp on? Is it safe to change pedal order with the amp on or is it safer to turn the amp off before doing so?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Год назад +1

      Thanks for your message, appreciate you reaching out.
      If your amp has a standby switch then you can change order or plug in your pedals with the amp on with no issue. If there is no standby then you will hear an audible noise with every connection you make. While it’s not harmful per se, it is not pleasant…
      Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them!

    Is it possible to have your tuner (I have a T.C. Electronics PolyTune mini) in the chain of effects you run through your amp’s effects loop? Mine doesn’t seem to work when I do that.

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Год назад +1

      Hi, Rob. The signal coming from an FX loop is quite a bit hotter than the signal coming from a guitar, which is what most tuners are designed to analyze. For this reason, the TC pedal might not work well in an effects loop. My experience has been that tuners will always work the best and give the most accurate results if they are as close to the guitar in the signal chain as possible. Typically one of, if not the first, pedals on a pedalboard.

      I have exactly the opposite question :D I'm trying to loop the A chord picking part of unforgiven clean and with reverb, and play distorted open chords on top of it. Would a multiFX pedal and an amp with an FX loop work for that?

      I try to keep it simple. For me, the important factor for hair is moisture, so I have a warm-mist, 800mL-per-hour humidifier approximately 4’ 9 1/2” from me at all times. I’ve programmed the moisture output to auto-adjust for room size and humidity levels, plus there’s a setting for outdoors. Of course, it’s on an infrared-equipped, motorized cart that follows me. I recently had to hire a driver for the cart because the infrared system was too unreliable, but I figure it’s worth it. 😊
      Thanks,
      D.C.

    I have 3 brand new amps, all Fender. A Acoustic 100, a tweed Blues Jr. ,and a Rumble 25 bass amp. None have an FX Loop, nor was it ever mentioned during the sales process. So if there are any amp sales people out there watching these comments, do your customer a favor and at the very least offer it in your lineup to the consumer.

      The FX loop is only used if you are going to use distortion channel on your amp. If you are running all your pedals into clean channel of your amp you don't need to bother with the LOOP
