- Tripod is a three legged dog. A terrible car accident left him badly injured, and he was going to be put down. But instead, he found a life with Marne, who nursed him back to health. They met each other at a time when they both, in their own way, in need of care. As their relationship unfolded, Tripod has taught Marne to give love, and also to receive love in return, without any expectations... to love unconditionally.

The moment Marne put Tripod in the wheelchair, I felt the tenderness and compassion between them. Yes, tears. They're always at the surface. Someone once said, if you want to find someone to share the road with, choose a person with a limp. And here they are … Marne and Tripod, both with a limp, both needing each other, and both finding each other. Oh to be found. How very beautiful. Gratitude and love coming your way.

In my culture, we believe that dogs can see what we can not see. So yes, they can probably see angels, ghosts, Jinns, anything we can not see, including anything we feel, they can ‘see’!
Lovely video. His words are so true. I had a dog for15:years and when he passed away i didnt have the heart to replace him with another to this day. He showed me so much patience,affection and understanding .

A beatiful meeting of two troubled souls , destined to grow old & change together, we can never truly understand the relationships we forge with animals but i believe they have a higher state of being that welcomes those in need & despite the horrific things people do to them they still look to us & give love & dont ask for anything in return, a true lesson that humans seem unable to learn in any great numbers much to our collective detriment ............love & best wishes to those who rescue all animals x

All dogs want to do is love us and they soothe our souls if we let them. My daughter passed away in April and her puppy and I have mourned her together. I heard her puppy cry when she couldn’t find my daughter. It would bring anyone to their knees. So we are getting through this time together her and I, even with loving Family and Friends around my daughters puppy seems to know we need one another. 💕

The mere fact that you can be in tune 2 what her puppy might be thinking and feeling is truly remarkable. In tandem 2 your own needs. Grief is funny that way. Some of our senses are heightened whereas others become null and void.
I can only imagine that your daughter is smiling with you and down on you from up above.

Tripod is an angel sent from God....I had a beautiful little poodle that was a rescue..he was the most precious gift to me...and I know that he felt the same about me...x 💙

I adopted my dog from Romania, she is very old now and near her end of life. My heart is filled with sadness, but together with gratitude of life and it's power.

I have a similar background. I suffer under severe depression, anxiety disorder and panic attacks...living alone....but i have a cat and this connection to her is very close...she makes me smile and it is so good to care for her....in fact she cares for me

After my sepperation, I've had the privilege of working with animals that have healed alot of my pain and continue to. We as humans are more than blessed to be able to share our lives with our fury companions. Time spend with a fury friend is time well valued. 🐈🐕❤️😊

This is lovely. I have a tripod dog too. I had a terrible orthopedic injury to my left leg some years ago and it is now held in place with titanium screws, and I have less mobility than I used to. Before I adopted my little tripod, she was run over by a car and her left hind leg had to be amputated after a few surgeries trying to save it. Her right hind leg has plates in the hip. I felt like I could relate to her and understand her pain and her special needs. She needs a little extra most days, like me, so we carry on together 😍

Listening to this made me cry and I don’t cry easily but everything he said struck a chord because everything he said was so true. I was always afraid of dogs until I had my own and he changed my whole perception of animals. He came to us so readily as a pup being the last one to go. His mother was also called Tilly as mine was and so I felt he was a gift from her. He had the same dark brown intelligent eyes.. I never realised how sensitive and loyal dogs are and ho much joy they can bring to your life. They bring the very best out in you and for that I’m so grateful. Also I just love the name Tripod and I’m so pleased you offered him such a happy life. Thank you for posting this brilliant video.

Ok, so are there more poetic and philosophical people per capita in South Africa than in the rest of the world? Because not only is this a beautiful, heart gripping story, but the fact that you met him while on a walk and he was the kind of man who had thought so deeply about his life and have the ability to be so honest and articulate just amazes me. "He was given to me at a time when he was broken and I was broken." I had so many layers of tears watching this. What a powerful and healing story. Thank you!

To answer your question about lenses - we only use prime lenses (Sigma 24mm 1.4, Sony 35mm 1.4, Zeiss 50mm 1.8 and lastly a Sony macro 90mm 2.8). I have been thinking about adopting a 3 legged kitten and have delayed decision as I didn’t want to separate him from his two siblings. I thought adopting 3 would be too much but after watching this film, I thought yes, I can rename Froggy as Tripod and give his siblings a home too!

Sooo much love for Marne and Tripod. My 2 Jack Russels are my only companions, and some days they drive me crazy ... my cottage and clothes are covered in dog hair and muddy pawprints. They take over the bed, bark hysterically at the farmer and his dog or anyone who attempts to come near our front door, chase birds, P on my potplants, attempt Jedi mind tricks on me for my food. cost a fortune in vet bills, tick n flea meds and food and snacks, and hair and nail grooming.... BUT ... their love is a beautiful thing, it is constant and deep and pure, and healing. They are true soul mates. I am so blessed they chose to spend their time with me.

my son and I made friends with a dog named Charlie who is a beautiful golden retriever. we see him when we go for our weekly walks in a park. as soon as he sees us his owner says go see your friends and he gallups form wherever he is an waits for his treats - 2 bones now and 1 at the end of our walk. he stands on his hind legs and dances with us and rubs up against us to say hello and thank you/ we love Charlie and he has brought us such joy. his owner is wonderful too as she lets his off leash to run play and explore in the park.
There can never be enough stories like yours when animals and the people who love them come together!
We adopted Rex less than 24hrs before he was scheduled to be euthanized. At that same time my husband was dealing with debilitating depression. We rescued Rex, and Rex rescued my husband. Only allowing my husband to let him out, forced my husband to get up.
This man rescued Tripod, and Tripod rescued him.

Yes, I choked on my tears all through this video. One of the scenes that was so tender and masterfully done for me was the time when Marne was laying down and Tripod was the pillow. Dogs live to be the pillow for our broken moments. My dog and I have a special connection without which I would be a ragged beggar (so to speak). As always, thanks for the caring insight into what we all need.

I've experienced something similar recently. I've been spending my days living with a dog that has shown me what love is all about. Bolt, my kind dog, has changed the way I see life and also the way I see myself. It has taught a lesson I'll never forget. Bolt and I are sending so much luv to Tripod and his lovely onwer xo

Depression is a curse. It has almost taken my life many times. My last episode I also got a dog. A border collie also. Luna is her name, she is my angel. She saved my life too. She taught me to smile again.
