Just wanted to say thank you for this video. Was incredibly helpful to replace my original AC Delco battery on my 2020 Silverado Trail Boss. I had a hard time finding the clip on the back side of the top, but fiddled around a few minutes but found it. Took me only 15 minutes start to finish after watching this, instead of probably 45 messing around trying to figure it out myself.
People you must do the sleep sequence before you disconnect the trucks battery in any GM from late 2014 and up!!! You must open your driver door, keep key fob far away from the truck and wait for all screens on dash to go out. All-data says it’s 15 minutes I believe. It takes 5 at most to sleep. If you DO NOT do this… in big red letters the factory service manual states you will kill the on-star battery! All data says the same thing!
2020 Silverado here, battery went out about a week ago. Just used your video to change mine out, thanks! I ended up getting the same battery as you. Hopefully it lasts longer than the 4 years the factory AC Delco lasted.
My suggestion is to maybe take it to a parts store and have them test it. See where the batteyr state of charge and state of life. Better to catch it sooner than later
I took it to AutoZone. They said everything is okay but doesn't have enough charge. The car was in the garage for 2 months. No move. I will drive more and take it back again. It sounds like Costco is calling me 😁
@WrenchingMafia I changed my battery and when I connected back the negative it started beeping and when I turned the truck on the auto theft code came on with the check engine light ...that didnt happened to you?
Hello, need help! I changed the battery out since it was dead. I connected the positive terminal and then as I was connecting the negative terminal my socket wrench fell out of my hand, the socket was still connected to the bolt and the handle of the socket wrench touched some metal. After a few spares the truck is dead. Nothing works. What could that be? I’ve heard it’s a fuse but which one?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Why didn’t your car alarm start going off after you connected the negative terminal? After I turned off the alarm with the key fob and started the vehicle, it said, “Theft detected” on the instrument cluster.
I won't buy an optima battery again. The company has changed quality dropped warranty is a PITA to exchange them now especially at O'Reilly's. To explain I was a diehard optima buyer until about 2 years ago. The last one that actually lasted was purchased in 2014 it lasted until about a year ago. Went to O'Reilly's to get a new one and it diedi in a Week "yes my alternator is working " it wouldn't hold a charge when the temperature was below 40°f for more than a day. O'Reilly's would not honor a replacement unless I let them have it 24 hours to test it. Fine their test says it okay? Well I was stuck with this overpriced junk now even when I told them it's a temperature thing. They need to test it when outside and cold I went to Costco and got an Interstate battery that's been reliable for almost a year now. No more optimas for me.

Interstates seem to be the last good battery.
I just replaced a 9 year old battery in my 90 Bonneville if that gives you a good idea

no wonder after i changed the starter on my 2021 my battery completely died couldnt even recharge it 😂
My 2020 has a complete dead battery, nothing comes on. I'm changing it this weekend
