Outside of the Dodgers the Mets have the best chance to land sasaki. Senga is already there but most importantly. Queens/flushing has the biggest Asian population in the world outside of Asia. Major marketing in NY. Great pitching coaching etc. can give the 6 man rotation. Mets also on a whole hare on the right track. There going to have a huge off-season. Sasaki would be comfortable in LA but he’d be the teams #3 with the Asian market.
Besides getting big money for Soto, Scott boras is set out to beat Ohtanis AAV which is 46ish million a year. I think the Soto bidding contract starts at 47 million a year at 13 years. 13 years is also what he turned down from the Nats. So it can easily get to 50 million at 15 years. More I think about it. It’s too much of an overpay bc he doesn’t bring half to a team that Ohtani does. It’s more then just the play on the field
Let Soto walk. Sign Christian Walker and Ha Seong Kim. Trade for Arenado. 3 gold glove infielders, you can now move Jazz to center. Defense is much improved, and lineup depth also improved.
I think the Yanks would be better off to trade for Luis Robert and offer a 4-5 year deal for Anthony Santander than to commit that many dollars for Soto. Let Steve Cohen break the bank.
Ohtani was much more successful and mature at 23 when he first came over than Sasaki at the same age. Good thing is he'll be cheap for the first several years.
