    What aspect of Staccato intrigues you most? Do you have one?

  • @rollyman3754

    My favorite handgun is my STI Edge. I would never carry that or use it outside of competitive shooting as it’s obviously not designed for that.
    I also have a Staccato P, 1st gen Sig P226, and a Gen 4 Glock 19.
    The Staccato is far more accurate, faster, and smoother than the others.
    Trust my family’s life with all of them.
    A gun dealer told me that I wasted my money on the Staccato and should have bought a Canik.
    With a raised eyebrow I laughed and told him my friend has one and it’s a jamomatic. Been back to the factory twice now.

    Question? I think you owe us, in your opinion, what you’ve owned that feels better, shoots better? Wilson Combat? Dan Wesson DWX? SIG P226 SAO Legion? Especially if it’s not an Phoenix Trinity, Atlas, Infinity or Nighthawk Custom?

      @damonharrington2948 No worries. Just wanted to make sure I answered it correctly. I've shot Colt 1911 in 45ACP, Ronin Springfield 1911, Girsan 2311, Rock Island's double stack 1911, CZ 75 SP-01, and a 22. 1911. Those are all of the hammer-fired pistols that I can remember at the moment.

    Staccato customer service recommend a plate from EGW that replaces your rear sight with an optic plate that fits in the dovetail. It gives you the ability to mount an optic without getting the slide milled and voiding the warranty. Downside is the optic sits slightly higher because its sitting on top of the slide. I haven’t tried it yet. I would like to have the slide cut but worried about voiding the warranty. Staccato will not cut the 4.4 p with the adjustable rear sight.

    • @LOC_Tactical
      @LOC_Tactical  Год назад

      My main starting point was considering the most amount of money that I would be able to spend and narrowed my search down from there.
      What are you looking for in a DS1911? Range toy? Duty gun? CCW? Home defense?

  • @jaceprovo
    @jaceprovo 8 месяцев назад

    I’m a high-end 1911/2011 guy. Primarily Atlas but a few nighthawks and Wilson’s. I have a staccato P limited, which is the X series with a threaded barrel and comes with the Dawson ice comp. I’ve done a decent amount of work on it including dropping the trigger to a flat 2 pounds (the stock P is 4 lbs) and put in an atlas trigger. The recoil Spring on the stock P comes in at 14 pounds. I have dropped mine to 9 pounds.
    I would argue that of all the 2011 guns i own, this is the most versatile. It’s designed as a duty gun but The way I’ve configured it, It shoots a lot like the staccato XC, and you can unscrew the compensator and stick a can on it direct thread. My take home message is that you can trick this gun out really nicely and it really is a do everything gun. I use it as a back up gun to my atlas Erebus on the range and it is my home defense gun with an omega 9K on it and subsonic 9 mm hollow points.

    Excellent and honest review. Made a huge mistake by putting a low bid on GunBroker for a STACCATO P. Because this one has the aluminum frame. I want it for a range toy. ABSOLUTELY love my SDS Tank Commander (9mm) 2x 8rd/magazines $409. Superior quality and steel frame. Beautiful grey finish. Put Ed Brown trigger, Wilson Combat parts and Pachmyr grips. Mine is in 9mm and shoots like a dream. You just don't want to stop firing it. Purchased extra Wilson Combat magazines. Had a Pro install and tune it to sheer perfection. It came in excellent condition and the trigger was good. But now she is perfection. Exactly what I wanted. I have about thirty seven guns. I can buy whatever I want. But for me it is ridiculous to spend $2,000 and up for a 9mm handgun. That is rifle territory and rifle caliber pistols with a brace. Peace

    There’s so much hype about lots of guns on you tube, as many gun tubers need to make content and keep up with other tubers. So it’s easy to be let down when a gun doesn’t meet the picture you created in your mind. Also, what’s your perspective, experience, and why are you buying that specific gun? I own reasonably priced, reliable guns for specific purposes. Home defense, concealed carry, and camping in bear country. Would I see enough value in spending thousands of dollars on a new gun, that goes bang like my others when I have a finite amount of resources to spend on hobbies? Sometimes it’s hard to face our own realties. I love watching videos about amazingly nice 1911 and 2011s. Am I going to drop over$3500 on a Wilson 9mm? No I’m not and I would probably have regret after the purchase. I remind myself how lucky I am to live somewhere I can legally own guns and I can afford a few, and that’s plenty good enough. Now let me go ride my new Honda Goldwing 😂, one of my other resource buckets.

      I couldn’t disagree more with the “almost bottom” of the 2011 world. I get what you’re trying to say, but I highly disagree. Mid tier? Sure, however, if you are going to atlas, chambers custom, or night hawk. For the price difference vs performance difference, it’s honestly not worth it.

      Also, with price you get extremely diminished returns. Staccato is now for duty use and excels in that extremely well.

      @@imanibarnett7513100% agree. I’ve handled 2011s that are twice the money but definitely not twice the value. I’d rather have two staccatos than one nighthawk.

      Roger Barrera has a great review on the xc and the nighthawk trs. I got my xc’s because all others seem to racey for me. The. Bright colors, charging handles, Extreme mag wells. The new grip texture is great and my xc with the polymer lower feels very well balanced. I guess you don’t know unless you held one and shot it or racked the slide. He is using the p model. If he got the xc he would be singing a different tune.

    These are great guns, but hardly the best. If you have experience with other quality 1911s and high end Sigs and CZs, Staccato's can feel a bit underwhelming. Especially for the price point. I much prefer the P226 X-Five to the Staccato.

    Great info man! You're not the first person I've heard this from, unfortunately. 2011's do be pricey and seem to be mostly hype.

      Thank you very much. The main premise for the video was simply to help make a Staccato buyer's expectations realistic. I think that there are way too many individuals that are caught up in the Staccato dream. All that being said, my Staccato won me over...I freaking love mine. I honestly would say that if you want a DS1911 but aren't willing to take the gut punch and you just want a range toy, I think that the Prodigy is a descent baseline that you can upgrade over time. Keep an eye out on Oracle Arms too.

      Hype is the wrong word. Too many people that have Toyota Camry tastes and drive at 55 mph max, jump up to a Porsche 911 and realize that at 55 MPH the Porsche does nothing better than their Toyota for 3 times the cost and then complain about it.

      @@SectionChiefSo, hype is the correct word. I do understand exactly where you're coming from though, and I agree with you. It's just like golf - a far more expensive club is still gonna hit like crap if you're an immature player. I like the illustration you gave. Solid example.
