- Today I picked up my copy of the amazing deluxe Blondie box people have been waiting for and boy was it expensive… I mean heavy! No Also expensive. And yeah, I said 1978, it was 1979!

I just ordered the 8 cd box set myself.As a Gen Xer i thought Debbie Harry was gorgeous.The band was awesome.Funny thing in the late 1960s before Blondie Debbie was a member of a folk pop rock group The Wind In The Willows with brunette hair. Looking forward to receiving the box set and a graphic novel Blondie Against All Odds.Have to pick up the Debbie Harry and Chris Stein autobiography books.Thank you for your share.
I attribute Debbie as the person who made a young me realize what sexy was/is! This box is just the best, so lovingly put together. Alongside my signed photo of Debbie and Chris I got seeing them live here in Oslo, its very much a gem of my record/music collection 😊 Thank you for watching and commenting! And enjoy the box set!
Hi Morten, when this was released l got the 3 demo albums and book's version (as l had the studio albums already) as a present from my wife. I must admit l have only played it once since but l'm glad l have it. Blondie are dismissed as rubbish but they were great. I play the first 4 albums a lot.
I love love Blondie. I think Debbie was the person who made me aware that someone could be sexy when I was a kid.
I’ve taken the whole box down and played it all the way through perhaps 3 times so far. I’d listen to it more but I’ve been in Denmark a lot the past year.
They speak far more to me than their contemporaries, like Telivision.

Yes! Something I became fully aware of carrying the UPS box under my arm from the delivery point 6 blocks to my flat. The guy who handed it to me actually said «congratulations on your new computer!»

Surprised that a band like Blondie released something like that, I always tought that they do something minimalistic
Well it was announced that a retrospective box set would come soon, quite a long time ago. I honestly hadn’t expected something quite this big. 4 1/2 record sets of outtakes, demos, rehersals etc really blew me away. The book is really wonderful and the cheery on top is that wonderful booklet with all the old releases and that extra 7’’ tucked into the bookcover with that Doors song.
But what I think is great is if you preffer CDs and allready have all the records is that they released all those bonus cuts on a 3 (?) CD box. At the same time. I think that is how you treat record buying fans!

@@jasas541 I assume Blondie is largely «ruled» by Chris Stein with the support of Debbie, avoiding the constant fracturing and bickering going on over at the Pink Floyd camp? Yes, I have noticed how a lot of Pink Floyd fans have greeted the last release less with a cheer and more with a annoyed shrug.
@@MortenAastad yes and I hope they don't mess up things with Dark Side of the Moon album 50th anniversary, because I've got a feeling, it's gonna be something dissapointing or maybe nothing at all...

How can you know the limited number?
@@luisdrums11 I don’t know, sorry. Tried to find out. There are at least one exclusive colour variant of this, white vinyl, that was made exclusively for the Numero Group website, and that was limited to 500 copies. I am guessing that is the limited edition and the word is just thrown on this «regular» version as it looks good. Or it may allude to «we are only pressing this thing once!» …but I doubt that.

@@luisdrums11 I’m guessing they haven’t informed anyone of the number. It’s Universal Music, I’m sure they would ha e of they thought it would intice people, so I’m guessing its a fairly big number. They announced the thing 4-5 years too early and stuff. RUclipsrs like Now Spinning, Norman Maslov, Super Deluxe Edition and Brendon Snyder all did unboxings of the vinyl set and I don’t remember them giving us any specifics about either.
