He wasn't really that dumb at all in the first two seasons but as the quality of the show began to decline so did the characters' layering; Joey became retarted, Chandler became effeminate, Ross turned into a screaming psycho, Monika became irritating and shrill, and Rachel just tried too hard. Basically, all of them became a lot less likeable and easy-going, and the show as a whole became a lot more laboured and chore to watch.
To be fair, not many friends live next door to each other in an apartment complex like this one. Least, not many that I have. I literally have no friends in walking distance, because New Mexico is a spread out place
@@shady_the_oneI live in the suburbs as well and I'm in the same boat. even then, when I first watched this episode and saw both of them were in the same place, I was trying to figure out how they would get out of the situation but I couldn't think of anything. It's not like I didnt know they were across the hall neighbors at that time. I really did not think outside the box enough to consider having 2 different parties.
one of my favourite friends moments is that part where rachel’s dad says “ohhhh, you’re having a part-EEEE” cos he’s normally so serious and it makes me laugh
-I thought you were rachel, and we weren't ready for you yet. -You thought I was rachel?? - yes yes, because you look young -and your both white women.. HAHAHAHAHAHA this scene had me dying
Chandler acting like jack tripper there when he jumped over the couch. Y'all didn't get that ?? Jack used to do that when he would be all in a hurry and in a panic. And hence why he mentioned jack and Chrissy lol.
That's a great observation. It's been so long since I've seen "There's Company" that I didn't make the connection to Chandler's physical comedy. In light of your comment, Chandler's remark about Jack and Chrissy doesm't seem so random. Very good.👍🏽
actually everyone, including the birthday girl herself is. Phoebe is wearing 2 colours here- pink and green on her shirt, which I think she might have coloured it green because she might not have a party outfit in green(the pants are pink) . ( Not that she doesn't have green outfits, they might not have been appropriate for the moment). Joey's outfit is a very dull muted green and looks worn down(because he's broke), and Ross is wearing a green tie.
Really liked how they tried their best so the parents wouldn't see each other and end up upsetting Rachel (although they did that on their own separately).
Well, I thought this is very underrated episode but looking at all the comments... It's nice to see such a huge love for it because it is just hilarious!
This is great farce. At the heart of it is their wish not to upset either of Rachel's parents, and they're prepared to go to great lengths to try to achieve that noble aim. This sort of scenario reminds me a lot of episodes of Frasier. :-)
Chandler jumping over the couch out of nervousness is just something else
It's because his parents are divorced too. He empathizes
@@KunalJJwala Oh, gosh, you're right! I didn't think of that...
Chandler jumping over the couch out of nervousness is just something else
This is literally the best friends episode.
Agreed. I'd really like to watch this series and episode without the laughing track.
Erin Waldie not a laughing track it’s a actual audience
Excuse me. The one with Unagi is the best
The one where no ones ready is my favorite but this is a close second!

Phoebe’s fake laugh when Rach’s mum was telling her the story😂😂😂dead
Lisa kudrow I tell you 😂
1:53 She is so cute ❤❤❤
🤣🤣🤣one of her best bits!! Hillarious
Yes I can’t even control my laughter
😂😂😂me too
I love how Chandler is always the one who panics the most.
"Uh huh, Join me, won't you!!" - Chandler Bing
The best episodes are the ones where all six of them are doing something together. And this is one of them.
Yeeeeah, episodes like this, my favorite.
There are two missing in this
I love the fact that the balloon flew right into Joey’s private part which got him startle.
Ikr lok
what? where in the video does that happen
Kevin Vanhove in the very beginning
@@nonenunina oh lol yeah i didn't see that
0:06 and the fact that he could keep a straight face 😭😂
I loved the fact that Chandler shoved Sandras coat into the cupboard 😂😂😂
That’s quick thinking!
😂

His face while closing the cupboard kills me every time
Dude, Mr. Green's jacket was dope AF
Yo man, c'mon.. That's Exactly! Wh... Hh..
Why's no talking about it??!
But I was dissapointed to see the top underneath.
It looks like something Ralph Lauren would make.
It looked like a Micheal Jackson Beat it jacket
@@star16mehe looked like an F1 team owner in Grand Prix Monaco! 😂
Who ever direct this episode is a genius.
Yeah, it's just a fantastic episode, both great comedy very relatable for a lot of people with divorced parents.
I don't know who directed this episode, but, in later seasons David Schwimmer (Ross) directed some of the episodes
I totally agree. This episode with the 2 parties is hilarious...love it..and Dr Green...😅😅
“Dr green
hey why don’t you come with me we will put your jacket on Rachel’s bed”
“Alright that sounds like a two person job”😂😂 (classic)
😂😂😂😂
The one in which Joey isn't dumb.

@@guillezorro exactly that's suppose to happen when you run a show for ten years
@@guillezorro Basically they became caricatures of themselves.
guillezorro but in joey TV spin off, joey was smart and that was the downfall for that forgotten show....

This plan was genius. I never would have thought to do something like that. And on the spot like that too. Gotta give Monica props for that.

just love the way chandler tries to cover up with monica like a real husband
1:33 that switch from panic to charming from Chandler xDD that acting is superb
Rachel's mom was such a sweetheart
Way better than the dad.
Chandler jumping around and over furniture is always funny.
The way Chandler jumps around 😂😂😂😂. I love Chandler.
