This wouldn't work... the back rollers are facing in like an X (as they're supposed to) but the top ones are making an O, which is bad... And obviously the rollers wouldn't work well at all. You'd think for a nice animation like this people would actually do some research before making it, but I guess not.
This is not a concept, this is an uninformed presentation: - Mecanum wheels are assemblies of dozens of components each, thus making them a nightmare to maintain. - Mecanum wheels have really poor grip, need a super flat surface to correctly steer and way less contaxt surface. - Vibrations on that thing will shake your brain out. - Safety for both the driver and the pedestrians, as any piece can fly away like a bullet. And lastly this is a carbon copy of Goodyear presentation of their spherical wheel years ago, which that was a true concept.
Those wheels will probably have the cost of half of the car and will wiggle wiggle the shit out of ya..plus the centrifugal force will make your car lose her shit
LOL mecanum wheels in a sports car? fucking stupid. Mecanum wheels have notorius issues with traction, are heavy as shit and lack the shock absorption of pneumatic tires. they're great for stuff like forklifts but on the open road? forget about it.
