- Before Doom came out this game was the ruling king of heavy-ass metal soundtracks and I highly recommend checking its tracks out. This particular track is one of the few mellow tracks on the soundtrack, and I mean, who needs those? So here's a metal version of it. 3/4 time and less gain on the guitars makes for a pretty rad sound IMO. Hope y'all enjoy!

You're missing out. I played every game that were represented, in a way, on this channel and most of them are great or better than even that.
@@sladevalen2120 I liked the remake of the first one on Android. The only thing I didn't like about it was that is played with a touch screen for the controller. Other than that is amazing and is free.
Highly recommend to check out the rest of this OST. Shattered Soldier has one of the best soundtracks ever. I’m not even talking about just in video games I mean on Earth. There is not one miss in this OST it’s legendary. Then you factor in that this is the masterpiece of the entire series (my opinion) and it makes this game an absolute gem. By far one of my favorite games ever played. If you have a few bucks to spare you can download it on PSN.

I love the way you utilize left/right speakers. It makes the different parts feel more distinct.
Much obliged! I really like this lead guitar mix where each individual channel is panned almost all the way out and have very similar amplifier settings. Sounds like there's just one centered guitar when they're both playing the same notes, but gives an insanely stereo separated sound when they're playing harmony. It's interesting.
Shattered Soldier is an underrated gem. Had a TON of fun with that game!

Underrated contra game for real tho. it's pretty tough too. Soundtrack is definitely my single favourite thing about it. I actually played it like two years ago with a friend and we lamented that there wasn't an audio option to lower the volume of sfx because they are super loud and can drown out the banging music a bit to my tastes.
Yeah, the game shits all over its own soundtrack IMO. Good thing they released it separately.

The bass line at around 00:19 and onwards. Shows itself every now and then. Amazing. Turns into a low-sustain rythm provider along the way, without notice. Then turns into guitar taps. Then transfers its load to the battery. For a while it runs cowboy, then it turns into techno beat. Towards the end its psychodelic rock. Amazing.
Holy fucking shit! Stone, you must be psychic. I was just thinking today how awesome it would be if you did a cover of Islands, my absolute favorite track of the game, and here you are doing a kick ass mix of RoM my SECOND favorite! Nice!
I personally like RoM, Fortress, Helldrive, Maximum Speed and A True Last Boss. Either way, thumbs up :>

Wha....!? Shatter soldier! was my first ps2 game... man stone you are spoiling the hell out of us here. Never thought you would do a mix from shatter soldier, but this mellow Shreddage got me rocking my head to the beat. now that we got some contra here, got some of that Hardcorps percolating somewhere?
I have Hard Corps WIP files actually. They suck, but it's something I wanna do eventually for sure.
