Frozen chicken drastically shrinks after cooking. Some are pumped with lots of water in order to bulk up their weight for when it is sold. Besides, it doesn't make economic sense to obtain food from so far away. There will be even more supply chain issues with countries supplying from the other side of the world.
The extreme cold temperatures make the cell membranes more fragile due to ice crystal formation inside the cells.
