I’d like a sew along for the cubes! You’re an excellent teacher and your tutorials are always full of great information and tips. I like how you’ve broken down the different types of makes you’ll focus on each month. It feels really balanced.
Thanks Erin! I am looking forward to sewing those cubes for me. I have made the medium size for Pokémon card storage for the boys and one for a friend I used to work with. I have been talking about making these for my tights for three years.
A sew a long for the cubes is a nice idea. I’m working on my own bin of shame. One recommendation is to do the thick fabrics first. It makes a lot of room right away.❤
I recently purchased the bins you suggested for storing fabric. They fit perfectly in my IKEA cabinet. Fall of 2023 I did a capsule wardrobe for myself. I didn’t need to add much but I did purchase a few sweaters. For 2025 I have plans to make an outfit for an event starting with the Sinclair Chloe in a ribbed Lurex from Mily Mae Fabrics and pants TBD. Then on to a capsule wardrobe for a trip to Europe in the early summer. I have found if I don’t sew ahead of the season it just doesn’t happen. Fit is my biggest challenge!
I hear you on fit!! Glad the boxes worked for you. We don’t have a lot of difference in seasons here. A few weeks of cold, a few weeks of not hot, and hot. I do enjoy making cuddly stuff as soon as temps drop and then I focus mostly on summerish makes. Today is pj making day at my house.
Love this video Christine! My closet resembles yours as I have a lot of garments that I like, but not necessarily love. You've inspired me to be more mindful about my sewing choices. I'm also working on fit for 2025, so I'm really looking forward to your videos to see what your up to! Take care ❤❤
Always love a sew along. This year, l would like to get my fit better and have been working on that as well as drafting my own patterns. Thank you, Christine. You are such an inspiration ❤
I took Fit clinic a zoom plus library of recordings with @sewingandthecity. It was great. I had no time to really do new things as I was part of the beta group and it started Thanksgiving weekend. I still feel like I got my value out of it. She explains so clearly.
Perfect timing for me - I have some things I really need to get made this Spring. I've made a list of tops and dresses (patterns I already own) that I want to make this Spring. I've gotten to where I only wear a small handful of my tops that I've made and many others just sit there - so I need more. I hope you like the Concord Tee better than I did. It hugged my middle too tight. I think I'm the only plus sized sewist that doesn't love that pattern LOL.
I am having a good time sewing down my stash! The Concord fits great! I did get a heads up from Izzy to go up a size as it is more fitted. Very glad I did, I think I went up 2 sizes. I probably won’t be sewing myself a bunch as T shirts as that is not something I wear often. Perfect for pj’s!
Great!! That will be a break from the endless muslins. After dinner I am testing the sleeve on my latest fit muslin. Bodice is great. Fingers crossed 🤞
You too! I am sitting here enjoying my Christmas tree 🎄. We are taking it down tomorrow 😢. Love to hear about what you are liking and why as you try patterns.
I am working on fit this year as well. We live in Alabama and dont need warm cozy clothes for very long each year but my closet is lacking in warmer items so that is first up on my list. I am going to sew the Love Notions Arlington sweater first. I have made it before but need to make a high round back adjustment. If that change works then I plan to sew the dress in a green cable knit that I bought last year. I really like yours and Izzy's sweater dresses and hope to achieve something like them without buying another pattern.
I would live in a Southbank if it were warmer. I know all about Alabama heat. We were in Auburn and Fairhope. Kudos to you for making a pattern work for you!
Thanks for sharing your goals! It sounds really dowable. I did a similar thing last year with my monthlies to work through a backlog of subscription boxes that I hadn't used. Baby steps, haha. The "one fitting per month" sounds like an excellent idea 😁 I was wondering how that bin of shame was coming along! I took care of one of mine today - a plushy fleece that I had gotten to replace my winter robe with (NEVER gonna happen - there's not enough anyway). I hemmed the two ends and now I've got a cuuuuuddly throw to use when I'm reading 🥰 Talk about shortcuts!! Happy sewing! 😘
I have sewn two garments so far and plans to put my head down and knock some yardage out! I did stumble with the Lyra. I need to figure out the armscye sleeve situation. I got the bodice to fit beautifully but once I put a sleeve in it is all kinds of wrong. I needed to set that project aside and have a win. Will come back to it later.

That is brilliant!! What is in your bin of shame?
Just because the finished garment say it's going to work doesn't mean it's going to work! You got that right!😅😅😅
It's the truth!! 😅

I am working on fit also this year. I have muslins that are almost perfect within the fabric I choose may not be and it throws everything off.😮
It will be worth it to work it all out!
I love to plan and would appreciate a sew along 😊
You are an epic planner with your dedicate days for activities!!

I have to remind myself at times that better to take more time and get the fit so I will wear it rather than settling and not wanting to reach for it.
Hi Christine, I love your new hair style, you are looking gorgeous ❤️🇿🇦🧵
Thanks, I love my new hair too! It is actually old hair 😂. I keep returning to a short pixie cut.

Loved this video so much! I think planning your makes for the month is going to be such fun with this framework. I want to make those cubes with you!!

I love sew a longs😊
Yay! I am ready for a break from fitting. Fingers crossed the sleeves go in well and I will be able to declare success.

@ChristineSewsALot sounds like a plan! I think that's a common thing 😊
