Not gonna lie, I used to get really annoyed at Scara simps, but Wanderer has single-handedly made me fall in love with Genshin all over again. He’s insanely fun to play and has made me discard meta altogether, now I just farm mob materials and get 100% exploration on every map because it’s just that fun to go around doing aerial combat! I swear I’m still not over his little Raiden circle turning into two turbines when he fly-sprints, he’s like an edgy Astroboy and I adore him.
Edit 7 months later: I regret to inform y’all that I am now a Scara/Wanderer simp. Either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain, I guess. Anyway Hat Guy is best guy and I would die for him.

It's nice to have a fun character to play with, but it's also sad that we can't use then in anything but overworld weak mobs or spiral abyss. That's why people are craving more combat endgame content.
What I’m enjoying is having a hypercarry that isn’t dependent on bursting. That’s why I rolled for him. It’s so frustrating having to tiptoe around Xiao or Cyno’s energy. With wanderer I don’t have to worry about that.
Especially with his electro buff
This makes him future proof, tbh many characters nowadays focus more on NA attacks, even their burst becomes NA attacks

@@jvgrace2288 hu tao and ayato aren't strictly hypercarries. They rely more on reactions than on buffs to deal damage. Unless you're playing a physical hypercarry ayato or hutao (kekw pls don't) or a monoelement team, the damage from your ""hypercarry"" hutao and ayato is coming from the fact that you have elemental reactions going on, they scale nicely with the right amount of EM, etc etc.
Wanderer is a _true_ hypercarry in every sense of the world. He's anemo; yet cc, swirl and em are meaningless to him. He's not a reaction carry. he's not _any_ kind of reaction-oriented dmg anything. It comes down to his base atk, his crit values, and his teammates giving buffs/support and swapping out, pure and simple.
Honesty speaking, playing since version 1.2 Scaramouche is probably the first 5 star character that I pulled for just because he looks so fun to play. I didn’t think for a single time about his position in meta or how good he will perform. Only thing I cared that he looks so unique and super satisfying in terms of gameplay. However I think still he is a solid option if you can properly build him, at least he is in second tier from top.
I legit don’t like his style, so I didn’t pull for him. I think people are forgetting that not pulling can be also apart from the meta

Wanderer is having success because:
1) Heavily anticipated
2) JP VA
3) simps

You have no idea how much the CN fandom loves him. A very large part of the CN online culture makes it so that his type of character is extremely likeable.

I run Wanderer with Layla for shielding, plus I get that 20% crit rate from his ascension passive with her cryo application. I think people make his low resistance to interruption seem like a bigger issue than it actually is. Just use a shield, same thing you'd do with Yoimiya, Ganyu, Hu Tao, Cyno, etc.

I played Genshin from the start, and pulled for lots of characters, now I’m at a state where if I don’t pull a single more character, I can finish whatever content Hoyo update.
So if I still wanting to pull a character, it’s because I love the story or the design. I’m happy with Wanderer’s story because Hoyo didn’t simply give him a new name and tell us he is a good guy, the fact he is still bad and he accepts himself been bad is very good storytelling. And thats why I pulled for him, not for power or playstyle, only because the game quality amazed me.
Same, I simply wanted him because I liked him and didn't plan to build him at all. But I'm so tempted to build him for overworld gameplay because he looks so fun
Same. I already have numerous meta team for doing the hard work on the abyss, so there's no need for new one.
Wanderer on the other hand, I love his design and playstyle. Lucky for me, I've got C2 wanderer with 150 pull (trying to pull for C6 Faruzan, but only got 2 copies of her)
It's basically why I got Faruzan.
I don't need her constellations... I simply built her because I like her design and skill animations.
Since I don't really care about Abyss, I can do anything overworld anyway even with my OG team.
I had zero instention of getting wanderer. Had no idea what all the hype was over his design back when he was introduced at the beginning of the game. Then I did the demo for the 20 primogems and his mechanics were easily the most fun I've ever had in the game. Insta pull. Very fun character design.

Pressing Space directly after E doesn't work, you have to wait for one second.
Moving forward and upward at the same time doesn't work. So he can't even fly on a small hill.
And by gods sake he doesn't even aim at enemys below him.
@@sofieberger8851 i dont think being able to cover a huge amount of distance (vertically and horizontally) in such a small amount of time counts as "bad" for exploration esp when no other character can do both, and not to mention the short cooldown (6s if im not mistaken)
and dont forget that his skill is independent of his stamina bar, so u can just glide right after the E when climbing hills
@@sofieberger8851 gotta disagree with u there, he's helping my account so much with exploration better than any characters could. Yes, he couldn't do all those things you just mentioned, none of the characters can (except for kazuha's small flying boost ig). But being able to just fly to the other side of the river or even hills to save energy for gliding is so helpful, sometimes I don't even need to glide. Having to wait 1s is so minor compared to what he had to offer imo.
same thing happened to me, I was saving up for a guaranteed ayato but after doing his trial, I fell in love with his gameplay, Instant pull and have not regrets.
Let us not forget the fact that he was the 6th Fatui Harbinger. There are people who likes to collect them like the players who own archons.

@@ouroboros6738 If your definition of archon is having gnosis, so he might fit the shoes but the current puppet Raiden Shogun was created to carry duties despite of having no gnosis but still called archon. Yae also the who possess(or holds) the Gnosis before surrendering it. But the reality I don't exactly know which is right.

I was dead set on getting raiden or save for haitham but then his little helicopter was marketed and I was sold, he's so cute!
he's terribly fun to explore the open world. I can still only 33 abyss but I've decided that is fine. genshin to me is an adventure game first, a combat game second and wanderer has made my recent journeys so exciting and fun
Thats the right way to play, if you keep aiming for meta, the game will get boring fast. Its an open world game, so just enjoy it. Forget the meta and aim for the fun.
I advice yo to pull for some OP characters sometimes as well. When you can do 36 stars abyss, then you'll gonna feel like you're totally free to use your primogems on anything. Btw i was also going for alhaitham, but scaramouche can fly and it's fun while alhaitham it's literly keqing with dendro element XD

I got Al haitham as well he's very stylish lol :) some characters are cool AND meta I hope I can farm primos from abyss fully someday but that time isn't any time soon and I don't want to stress about it
I mean this isn't surprising. The true endgame is now to just pull for characters you like independent of how "broken" they are. Most of us can 36 star abyss without any problem so pulling for meta units is no longer a need

Saving you're hard earned primos for chars that are not underwhelming is still the way to go

@@HanniPham_NewJeans For new players yeah I think he's not worth the primos but for endgame players like they said already have tons of meta Characters that 36abyss is a breeze for them, like myself, pulling for Wanderer is more of a wanting a fun and refreshing style of gameplay.
New players wouldn't go for meta; they'd be busy completing In The Mountains and archon quests, collecting chests and sunsettia with the help of higher AR players anyway; and by the time they're fin ready to try abyss they'd have enough characters.
Never worry about whether these characters would have a place in meta or not. Heck we already have over 50 released characters now and still counting!
@@HanniPham_NewJeans i was like you in the past. But after i have hu tao, ganyu, xiao. I dont pull for meta anymore. I can 36 star with those easily. If you get 3 dps, (at least 2), you can pull with your pp instead of brain.
People who are talking about Wanderer resistance to interruption, just look at low HP Hu tao or archer Ganyu. How did you manage to play them? Consider same for Wanderer.
Yeah, I agree with that point since needing shields is a minor problem, but I think the problem with Wanderer is that, unlike Hutao and Ganyu, he has so many minor problems that pile up making people unable to tolerate him in comparison to the other two.
- He needs shielding
- His damage ceiling is not as high as the top tier hypercarries like Ganyu and Hutao
- He needs a specialized support in the form of Faruzan unlike Ganyu and Hutao.
- His specialized support needs to be C6 otherwise she's energy hungry to play
- He is anemo, which has great support reactions, but is lacking in reactions meant to increase the anemo character's damage.
Many people tolerate Hutao and Ganyu's minor problems precisely because of what they can do.
Hutao needing shields because you need her constantly on low hp? That fine because she deals a f*ck ton of damage and is one of the best dps.
Ganyu needing shields for her to safely charge attack without getting interrupted? That's fine she compensates for that flaw by dealing a lot of damage and being a top tier dps.
Edit: My point was to show that people will tolerate a character's flaws and minor problems if they also compensate for those problems.
Hutao's pros far outweigh her cons, and so people tolerates her. On the other hand, Scara's pros doesn't outweigh his cons.
Honestly, he could remain with a lower damage ceiling, but maybe they could compensate for that lowered damage ceiling by making his specialized support work well already on C0 instead of needing C6 or maybe giving him an element that helps with his personal dps more than anemo.
He could remain needing shielding but maybe compensate for that by giving him free dodges that he could do anytime in the air instead of a certain time window. Maybe even allow him to stack those dodges for him to use anytime on air.
For every flaw or problem you make to a character, you need to compensate for those in some way. Hoyo stacked Scara so much with minor problems without compensating equally for those that it makes it hard to tolerate using him, much less to justify pulling for him.
@Ubeia hu tao most of the time requires C6 xingqiu to deal consistent good damage and to an extent, yelan to build her meta double hydro team. ganyu's meta teams are also expensive with plenty of 5 stars needed (venti/mona/kokomi/shenhe/zhongli). layla's a saving grace for shield, but for off field hydro application in freeze team, she still needs 5 star supports.
i personally think wanderer being anemo is actually good because most enemies don't have anemo resistance and they can go through most shields, which i also think is why best anemo supports are made expensive. as an element anemo is already one of the strongest and flexible that they have to nerf it somehow.
@@starrysky6586??? im the biggest wanderer fan but i've also been a hu tao main since 1.3 and she basically just needs c0 xingqiu to do good dmg. hu tao c1 and c6 xingqiu makes it a more enjoyable experience but she really doesnt need those
@@ubeia4857 Okay lets be honest here. It is really necessary that every single new 5 star character needs to be broken like Hu tao and Ganyu? We already have tons of top tier DPS characters. It doesn’t matter that every single 5 star character is meta or not. After having plenty of options we don't need more and more broken characters.
@@ubeia4857 a lot of your points are pretty redundant and basically amount to wanderer not reaching the same damage ceiling as ganyu and hu Tao.
One thing to note is that as Anemo, his aoe is far far superior than someone like hu Tao, he also completely ignores ground attacks which is something that’s basically exclusive to him and albedo.
You made a good point about him making use of faruzan and her being c6 to unlock the full potential, however that is more of a faruzan problem. Also since we’re comparing him to top tier characters, ganyu’s team is extremely expensive and her only f2p friendly option is Layla. This goes for other 5 stars who have restrictions and high investments.
I can agree wanderer isnt a must pull but frankly your argument isnt the way to go to showcase why.
Once you can clear the abyss comfortably, fun ad unique becomes the new criteria for pulling new characters specially since they keep on just copy pasting skills and burst of old 4* and just make them 5* or a different element 💀

Then you check their account and they have Raiden, Yelan, Kazuha, Ganyu, Ayaka etc etc on standby, ready for when abyss gets tough.
@@HanniPham_NewJeans I've seen people clear this latest abyss (which is supposed to be the hardest yet) with nothing but 4 stars, including the starting team of Amber, Kaeya, and Lisa. It's much more about your team compositions, character builds, and skill at the combat.
If you're having trouble with the abyss, it's not because of your characters I can guarantee that.

Characters can be both fun and strong at the same time, plus just say you're a bad player lmao, I can clear abyss with a fully 4star chara team with 4star weap. You don't need 5 star characters to clear the game, it's easy af once you play for mor than 6 months. So yeah Nier Null is right.
@@Soul-em1qh How many of those showcases you so callously refer to, are from 2 month old accounts? 3 month old? Maybe 4? Was any of their artifacts under 20CV perhaps?
Team comps and personal skill mean nothing when the damage is simply not there. And not everyone is on a 2yo account with the benefit of having 10s of thousands of resin spend on artifact domains.

Wanderer is the first character to actually make me enjoy team building. Obviously you want Faruzan to fill in one slot, especially if she's C6, but the amount of freedom you have for the other 2 is amazing. After building both Thoma and Layla for him, my Mora has never been so low lol

@@recurringdream4380 Depends on your needs, I use them both interchangeably. Both work great with him, one just gives him an ATK boost and the other a Crit Rate boost.

After playing with wanderer, I fell in love with it completely and flew around.
I didn’t care for scaradouche until I saw his kit, the amazing quest sealed the deal for me and I kind of fell in love with the character, I’m real happy to join the scaranation.
Wanderer didnt WOW me at first(most units don't as usual). But after building him, his dmg became quite impressive (at lv8 skills, his normal attacks 11-22k per hit, even up to 33k with buffs, that's literally normal attacks!!!, He has fast normal attacks, so that's a lot of dmg) and fighting exploring with him, oh my god I LOVE the experience. He can reach so fast and auto aim, I barely have to reposition and move around. He clears a group of enemies really fast without using any team ult (I just use zhongli and wanderer) so no need to annoyingly rely on ult (during expiration) have yet to try him in abyss tho(already 36 starred abyss before I got him)

@@FAISAL-od4zx believe or not, dmg would be much higher with Faruzan. Mine deals around the same amount of dmg completely solo (meaning no teammates at all, it's just fun to kill everything that moves with Wanderer alone lol). He's double crowned, good build with skyward atlas (no signature artifacts yet though).
Honestly, hes just so fun to play. Hes really different from a lot of the other chars and yeah, hes not meta level but hes definitely not struggling to go through content
I think we're at the point where we can just go for characters we like. Most of the good supports are early characters so you'll bound to get them sooner or later. Now if only they could update Paimon's Bargain so we can some constellations for the recent 4 stars that'll be great lol. I have no interest in Wanderer, Itto or Genshin Miku so it's a shame I have to skip Gorou again since I'm saving for Dehya It would've been nice to just buy Gorou from the shop so I can try some mono geo teams.

I am still at Adventure rank 33 , I got wanderer at 70th roll (it was sheer luck) for some reasons people don't seem to like him much, but the situation I am currently in he is the one who is carrying everything.
For me, he is just the most fun in the game. His flight is so much fun in combat, and running him with reaction teams is so many numbers that I find so satisfying
I feel like he was meant to be used with a shielder, esp to make C0 shielders more viable. C6 Thoma buffs normal and charged attacks (finally making Thoma even more viable, especially after Burgeon came too), C4 Layla buffs normal and charged attacks as well, Zhongli ofc shreds resistance and can hold Tenacity set, together with Yunjin who buffs flat normal attack damage (making Geo resonance possible). And then with Xingqiu who gives increased resistance interruption and makes him stay flying longer (more damage). Hoyoverse was smart on this tbh since they knew he is gonna be popular and then pair with not so popular 4 star units.
He’s a glass cannon. Everyone please get over the fact he has low poise. Ayato and Yelan have huge HP so makes sense they are immovable. He’ll become overturned otherwise.
glass cannon is character (usually mages/casters) who is vulnerable but can deal MASSIVE damage. scaramouche meets 2/3 criteria
His damage is too low for him to be a glass cannon.
There's no endgame so why not overtune him? The dash should at least not reduce his meter. But he should be as broken as Raiden.

I've been playing Genshin since 1.0 and honestly, at some point you'll stop even needing meta. You'll arrive at the point where your current units are enough to beat up difficult content like the spiral abyss, and maybe even arrive at the point where meta pulling burns you out from your account. Wanderer actually motivated me to 100% the forest area which I have been holding off for several updates, encouraged me to play long hours on the game again, all because he was fun and I wanted to keep playing him because I was finally enjoying myself again after a very long time.
Its been said multiple times before but really, pull who you like and find enjoyable, disregard the meta and just ignore whoever discourages you to pull someone you want just because they're "mid". Genshin's a very casual game and personally, having fun is the most important thing else you'll risk demotivation and burn out.

As soon as I tested Wanderer I KNEW he wasn't going to be great for most people in the Spiral Abyss, including me. But I didn't get him because of the Spiral Abyss. I got him because his playstyle is fun and unique, and he makes exploration interesting. I can safely beat Spiral Abyss with my other characters, so now I don't even think about whether a character will be "meta" when i pull for them. I just pull for whoever I want. (I do think his lack of any sort of interruption resistance while airborne is pretty stupid tho)
But hes clunky for exploration as well.
All he can do is move fast forward, something Sayu and Yelan can do much better.
He can't move forward and upwards at the same time.
His ability to move upwards is very limited.
He can't activate his skill in mid air.
He can't hit enemys below him.
Most annoying: pressing Space to leviate directly after E doesn't work, you have to wait for 1second.
But those are all problems are only noticable AFTER you spend money, so they will never be fixed, what a shame.
Or they will be fixed 2 years later like Monas and Ayakas Sprint. Cough
@@sofieberger8851 Sayu and yelan are not doing better, you are in copium. They can't fly + they can't go over water. Wanderer has problems but he is still the best for exploration. Lol.

@@sofieberger8851 i helped a new player with sayu a few days ago. We walked all the way from liyue to sumeru to farm for tighnari. You are wrong. Sayu can't keep up with wanderer because of her shorter duration skill. She can't move horizontally without descending when we jump from one cliff to another in chasm. She can't cross water without swimming. Yelan has longer cd on her skill. Wanderer is better than those characters that have alternate sprint because he can do more than sprinting. I helped a fellow Wanderer haver to farm mushroom. He made it easy for us to reach mushrooms on those giant tree in sumeru. Something that my kazuha is struggling to do. One more thing, he's a great character to bring for weekly boss fight. He can easily dodge most of enemies attack by just flying without sprinting like a chicken.
honestly, was saving for Hutao, Ayaka or Raiden(if the former 2 is not gonna rerun soon), end up pulling for Wanderer because he is probably the most fun character in Genshin so far, the ability to just hover over stuff is really fun to do
I'm so satisfied with Wanderer that I don't think I will be pulling for a new character anytime soon (even tho Alhaitham looks rad), rather I will focus on characters i already own and build some fun teams that echance Scara's playstyle even further

Honestly same. I was dead set on getting him and Al-haitham but, scara just makes me want to wait for another unique gameplay character. Especially if they're Anemo. Playing him made me realize how bored I was with pulling new chars just for the sake of pulling. I used to pull for fun factor, then meta, and now yeah, meta is temporary lmao.
Hutao, ganyu, raiden and eula are benched. Don't even bother with them in abyss and still can 36*. Ayato is also just, brain dead gameplay. While chars like Fischl, Childe, kazuha, xiao, jean, albedo, tighnari, yoimiya or heizou are just still fun and I play them a lot.
Scaramouche: flies and it's fun but hardly does a lot of dmg if dont invest a lot
Al haitham: probably gonna do more dmg than scaramouche, but it's literally keqing turned into a man who uses dendro element

Honestly speaking, it’s nice to see wanderer with some pros and cons because if there’s non then he would’ve been too overpowered, without cc and resistance to interruption he becomes vulnerable as any dps out there, come to think of it, almost every anemo character actually has the most insane play style: Xiao, Kazuha, Scaramouche, Heizou, (I’m a venti dps main😅).

Using cyno for a long time during his burst is probably one of the things I like about his gameplay, he looks so cool
He is probably one of the fastest electro enabler as well. People misunderstood his gameplay while in fact he is made for reaction driver and dps for both aggaravate and hyperbloom. I mean seriously he can house all three reaction at the same time.
I was gonna skip him but between the interlude chapter’s redemption arc and the flying aspect of his playstyle, I even swiped a little bit for him bc I lost 50/50 and ran out of fates lmao now to save for Alhaitham

He's a lot of fun to play and extremely good at exploration, but I feel kinda bad about Faruzan. I know I can't C6 her anytime soon, but having that would make my wanderer amazing in the abyss as well.
Yeah, I feel the same way. I just CAN'T spend anymore primos rn to get her C6 and I already have both Wanderer and Itto. I'm afraid I'll have to wait till his next rerun to C6 her, at least I got C2 😔
A lot of youtubers underestimate importance of exploration qualities of a character. I spend around four hours a day playing the game in essentially exploration mode (running around, mining, picking artifacts, killing mobs for mora etc) while I spend approximately four hours every two weeks playing Abyss. Good DPS will improve 4 hours of my gameplay every two weeks. Good exploration support will improve pretty much all of my gaming experience.

Tbh I'm happy with his damage and I really love his gameplay, he's so fun!! I now look forward to playing Genshin whenever I can, which is a feeling I lost for a while. I'm happy my favourite character is finally in my team.
Same dude, it's like those feelings you get when first starting genshin or new region unlock, there's much to explore and a lot of possibilities to try. This patch with wanderer and tcg just severely boost my playtime and it might devolved unhealthily unless I restrained myself. So yeah been a long time since I actually have to restrain myself from playing instead of forcing myself to play

Wanderer is so much fun to play. He’s also been easy to build for me! I think it’s very interesting that a lot of his kit is based off of attack speed- his best artifact boosts ATK speed and so does his weapon! I’ve been waiting for something like that for a minute.

One thing that hoyoverse keeps doing weirdly enough is when new characters are released (with exception of like kokomi and such) they make the abyss rotation for them a pain and a half. Like when raiden came out, there was an electro aura on both sides that made her really bad in that rotation

Wanderer is such a quality of life improvement in exploration that no meta can convince me to not main him
I actually got his Weapon before him cos I was Aiming for Redhorn, 1st Single I got his Sig sooo I decided to use my guaranteed on him and it was pretty worth cos he's REALLY fun to explore with and does good overworld dmg which is all I'm mostly looking for. (and btw I'm pretty much f2p Minus 2 BP purchases in the past.)
I pulled him because i find male mages quite fun and satisfyingto play. And after knowing Jester was a Royal Mage too, it piqued my interest.

I wasn’t going to pull for him, honestly the Scara fandom on tiktok made me not want to do it even more. After the character trial, I enjoyed it so much that I got him. His gameplay is so fun! I can already clear abyss with many other teams, so whatever. Right now Scara and Layla are my favorite duo☺️

I agree with evertthing. I just got the Wanderer because I liked his gameplay and that's it. I even went with him to the new abyss having him at level 70, talents 4/4/4, and just because I had really good artifacts and a team of Xingqui, Fischl and Bennet I was able to do full starts on the abyss without a problem. I don't regret pulling for him, I enjoy it. Hope everyone that is pulling for him gets him, good luck!
As a ar60 player. I dont pull for "meta" or strong character anymore. I pull the character who I find fun to play.

It ain't fun when you're damage sucks balls but then again, most of the players should already have a meta abyss team built and ready anyway at this point.
I have been saving for Wanderer for over a year and a half now and dumped all my primogems for him got C6 but sadly not enough for his weapon but I have R5 Wisdith so im happy. Dont go for meta go for what you want!!

well, at first i wasnt a scaramuche fan but after they changed him to wanderer and most importantly his elemental skill, I pulled for him and is suprisingly fun to me now i just want my itto boy
You, me and the community as a whole is developing. Many of us have been following you for a while and what we're looking for in a new character is changing. I think Hoyo learned this the hard way imediately after this with Dehya. It's important to recognize the factors that make a popular character successful besides their meta standing, but the whole Dehya situation proves a characters pre-release popularity can only take them so far.
What I actually like about him is his passive xd finally elemental shielder are at an advantage compared to Zhongli. Wanderer doesn’t get hit this often, so the shield doesn’t need to be this thick. Plus he really enjoys the CR or atk buff
as a yae and off field characters main my main goal is always to add anything that provides more dmg to my Yae, like nahida, recently pulled her weapon. So even off field Yae and nahida literally carry me thru the abyss specially with kazuha doing extra swirls and agrravates

I pulled on his banner for Faruzan, and stopped as soon as I got her at c0, there's a new "must have" DPS every other update, but a god tier support is so rare, she's going on the same team as Bennet and Noelle

I regret pulling him so much, i usually dont listen to people doomposting about a character (for example i pulled cyno, no regret hes amazing in hyperbloom with nahida). But wanderer relies so much on faruzan and shes unplayable at c0, and if you are playing him without her then sucrose is better.

I cleared both halves of this Abyss cycle using Scara so I'm satisfied. I would have loved some resistance to interruption but it isn't the end of the world. I can just run a shielder as a flex.
I got him guaranteed at 25 pity(I loss the 50/50 but Barbatos bless me) and then when I'm aiming for Fav bow I got his bell with mixed emotions(I have r4 lvl90 Widsith)

For the old players, abyss really isn't that hard anymore, getting him is just another way to have fun and bring the game to life again. Yes I wouldn't recommend him to f2p people cuz his power comes from his weapon, cons, c6 furuzan and etc but if you are just searching for a fun character then he is the right guy. A lot of people bring out him not being resistant to hits, but that's just like any other character tbh? Yoimiya, Hu Tao, Ganyu and many more dps characters need a shield to perform well so I don't see where all the drama is coming from. He is just a selfish dps, we have seen that with other characters, it's nothing too different that we aren't used to

His damage is pretty decent with C0 Faruzan tbh but C6 Faruzan and signature set makes him REALLY good and most people probably don't have that so he feels worse than he could be.
What stat do I need for him to perform like that ? 30k+ normal atk & 50k+ chrge atk ? I have him with C0 Faruzan his NA barely can hit 10k & charge atk 20k-25k if infused with pyro, my stat is lvl79, talent 8/6/6 74/197 crit ratio, 4pc shimenawa set, R4 widsith lvl90
the problem is he cant redirect his aoe charge atk dmg, xiao does the same damage but he can target where your aoe attacks between enemies

I finished current abyss 36 stars with wanderer 4x with diff comp each time. You gotta love all these people who are meta slaves, and yet can't even 36 stars the abyss with meta heroes.
This game can even be played at the highest form of difficulty that the developers provided with the given 4 stars we have. It's just that people need to complain about 5 stars that they didn't even pull so they can feel better for the characters they get and yet can't use optimally.
people just repeat what content creators say about characters, it's so dumb. not all characters have to be OP to be good. its like they only think in black and white and there's no middle ground. i dont get people like that. i agree with everything you've said, ironically the loudest people are probably the worst players
@@xxsonata Content creators are a double edge sword tbh. They are either helpful or destructive to new players. They post a lot of videos about a certain character in different angle it's insane to think about it, and new players are eating it up.
Reddit is the most toxic one though, if you're not ayaka, hu tao or ganyu main, then you're a POS to them.

Another thing to note of the dual banners is that site's records do not distinguish between the two; both are lumped together for that sum. It's likely most of it will be from Wanderer's side, but the other part is Itto.
Wanderer's gimmick is cool for now, but will cool off after some time. There just isn't much to do while he's up there. I've always thought that catalyst users should be able to use their magic to fade, slide, hover slightly and freely move around during their attacks a bit sort of like Wisdom Form and Kingdom Hearts 2. It's great to see Wanderer do that... but ffs only him? Also, this is a completely missed opportunity for Heizou to do that too as one of his attack's ending animations is him stabilizing himself to put his feet back on the ground. And then his and Nahida's charge attacks... They instantly become active and the 2 can jump or dodge immediately with the charge attack still going off. The rest of the catalyst users need to be updated to this.

I'm a pretty new player and I'm a very low spender but I can still 36 stat abyss. I really think it sould be fun over meta - but I also think that for some players, fun *is* meta (even tho I'm not part of them).
Watching faster and faster clear times can be the primary source of enjoyment for players so I think Meta should always be discussed.
But at the same time - numbers definitely don't mean everything - especially for so many players who don't even do abyss.
Most players, like me, would fall somewhere in the middle. I'd pull for any and all of these reasons: strength, aesthetic, gameplay, relevance in story, personality, hot-ness, cool-ness etc.
If I see a character and I like them - I'm probably pulling. But issue is that almost all characters will have something going for them - so you'll have to decide which ones to skip and for who. I'm skipping Wanderer for Raiden - but I'm sure every Raiden and Scara guide, thoughts, opinions etc I've watched influence my decision - which helps me make better, more informed decisions.

I am having a blast with wanderer. Will I use him in abyss? Hmm ehh. Depends. But he will surely be my go-to open world explorer. He is just so fun.
Wanderer is great for open world. Horrible for abyss. I have literally 6 different teams that can 36* the abyss. I've been clearing it for over a year. With that experience, I can quickly recognize where a team or character is falling behind. I tried Wanderer both as a Viridescent driver for a variety of quick-swap / sub-dps teams. I also tried him as a hyper-carry. He was just far too limited to clear floor 12 with all the stars. The only way this is happening is if your 2nd team is finishing way before the 1.5 minute mark. For this cycle, Wanderer is terrible for the 12-1-1 doggos, and mediocre on the 12-1-2 electro boss. Then Wanderer absolutely completely fails on 12-2-1, but can function on 12-2-2 if you dodge like a mad-man. Finally he's not great on 12-3-1, and well 12-3-2 is pretty much a "give me" floor, but even then wanderer takes 30 seconds longer than my other teams. I'm seriously disappointed in him as a DPS. If you are like me and just want to screw around with a new character in over-world, then go for it. Please do not pull him if you are still struggling to clear floor 12. You will be severely disappointed.

Then there's me, struggling 36* in Abyss before pulling for him, then suddenly it was a breeze after pulling for him.
I really agree that Faruzan really did carry the banner, I mean you can easily get c0 5* compared to c6 4* ;-;
Specially if you like xiao and heizou, c6 Faruzan is a good grab.
I had this crazy revelation where is more fun to have units which you can use for exploration than only meta units that you are only going to use once a month in the abyss. I already have Raiden, hu tao, ayaka and more but Wanderer? He is meta where I spent most of the time playing, he along Yelan made me want to explore more

Agreed. I became a fan of him since I saw ScaraMona artwork. Which was half a year ago. I saved up enough to tripple crown him and to have him guaranteed. First time me pulling for a signature weapon on the first day of a characters release too. 😂😂😂 I was so happy, once I for him. I just started at him in awe the first couple of days. 😮 Wanderer really has a unique playstyle, where as newer characters just get slapped on an old gameplay mechanics that existed since day one of Genshin, which is really disappointing, but NOT Wanderer. He‘s the most unique character in game rn. Anemo characters are always so much fun to play. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
