My choice for such a watch is the Marathon Steel Navigator. I got the USAF version last year when they were selling them under $500! The tritium tubes keep this watch glowing 24 hours a day, the movement is accurate to 10 seconds a year, and the water rating of 10ATM makes for an incredible watch! This has become one of my favorite grab and go adventure watches!

I love Hamilton watches. I bought a Khaki Navy Scuba because I wanted water resistance hiking, camping, hunting. I’m thrilled with this new watch and I hope Santa gets me one for Christmas.

You forgot to mention the upgrades in this iteration of Hamilton Khaki Field watches, such as Nivachron, AR, and Screw-Down Crown. Yes, those features are on some of Hamilton watches. But, none of the Field Watches have all of those features together like the Expedition.
Love this watch. Wore it the past two weeks on safari in Kenya, and also gorilla trekking in Rwanda. I put it through its paces (mostly hiking up the volcano in Rwanda), and it looks as good as ever. Frankly I wish I had gotten a few scratches on the case to add some character.
Yes, buddy, you are right! This is a watch for big guys who don't need the smoothness of the second hand and the highest level of polishing. This is a watch for a lumberjack and a mountain climber, a watch for an adventurer and a man who does not spend time in an office. I bought the black version on a bracelet and now it is always with me💪🍻🎄
I got a Hamilton Khaki mechanical for about 450 bucks. I put a ColaReb leather strap on it and sha-wing...its about as accurate as a weather forecast but damn is it comfy and looks awesome!!!
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
I left my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical in my pocket when I put my trousers in the laundry. It came out in perfect working order, but with a much cleaner strap! It seems their water resistant may be better than they advertise.
I broke a Casioak doing a hand swap one time. The minutes hand was gripping the pinion a little more than I thought it was when I was trying to line it up, and the tiny little plastic gear that drives it broke a tooth off. Oh well. Bought another one, but with the readable gray LCD, and popped that module into the black case and dial.
Hamilton Khaki = field watch... but the $$ meant that I've settled for a Timex MK1 with the mechanical Seagull ST6 lady's (skeletonized) handwind movement (that I picked up for $85 back in 2022). The Timex, with the ST6 ladies' movement c. 1975 and the acrylic crystal makes for a great NOS "vintage" watch at 36mm. I'm considering the new Quartz Hamilton Khaki 38mm at $395 since I like the older-style railroad minute track and the grab-and-go of quartz - let me know your thoughts on the new quartz models...
I love Hamilton as well, and that (along with the mostly disappointing lume) has been my main criticism and why I haven’t gotten another one after my Red Bull Air Race. My main field watch for the last couple years now has been the Victorinox Alliance Quartz 241476 That I am wearing right now. A lot of the same specs, with a date complication, 100M water resistance, about 10mm thick, and more than able to go for a swim or take a beating. Although it doesn’t have a threaded crown, I’ve used it enough in water to know that it’ll get the job done without a threaded crown. Now I may have to get this Hamilton. However, I’d personally get the 37mm variant with the bracelet, as the Victorinox has converted me into bracelets very quickly.

A very nice watch but not keen on the bezel tbh. I would have preferred this with a date window also. Nice to see that it has a screw down crown though and 100M water resistance. The dial is nice and clear though. I have a Khaki King in my collection already and several other field watches and also a G-Shock so I will be holding back on this one for the moment.
I’m in my AV-8 phase. They are quartz and double as a dinner plate when needed. I think most quality brands need a better entry point watch. The screw down crown is a big deal. Thanks for pointing it out

Boderry Voyager says hold my $99.00 beer and you can still get a Field Khaki, for the same money. You can get a Navy Khaki Scuba 300m for this money. It’s not a bad watch, but there are a lot of other choices, at this watch’s grey market price.
Honestly, I have loved Hamilton field watches for a while. Fell in love with the ones from Intersteller. I held off, though, because I need at least 100m water resistance. The truth is they just get wet. Have a ton of watches, and I'm not sure I can justify buying this one, but if I saw one with a $700 price tag, I am not sure I could resist. If this had a date on it, it could be a no-brainer because it is a versitile design.
Love a Hamilton but sorry Jory - the CWC G10 range offers everything this watch does and more with better wearing dimensions, quartz or mechanical options and even up to 300 metres water resistance with the sub hunter variant - they’re rugged, proven actual military issue and are, perhaps , the quintessential field watch
Most hamelton khaki auto have 100m water resistance. Not nte screw down crown but definitely 100m of water resistance. I have 2 hamelton watches. I prefer the timex expedition north automatic titanium 200m water resistance.
I’d like to see Hamilton put a screw down crown and 10 bars on all there field watches. I don’t always need 10bars, but it’s nice to know the watch I buy to wear everyday can handle it. Cough Khaki King cough.
Useless compass bezel aside, I agree this is the best iteration yet of the Khaki. Still, I can't help but cringe a little whenever the word "heritage" is used as a selling point for brands like Hamilton that were long ago gutted, absorbed, and reduced to a sales & marketing division for centrally manufactured products using the same parts out of the same factories.
It's sad that watches that look good cost over 1k+. MAMACOO watches are REALLY well made, and it just shows how a brand name on a watch can make its price 10x higher. I understand that if you look under a microscope, you'll find the difference, but just how many of you really inspect a watch at that level when you see someone with a watch?

AR coating too, and this white dial is very sharp, not silverish or cream, just bright white, its very pleasant

I can agree with the Air Race. Although it's considered an aviation watch, it looks a bit like an Explorer.

This design has to do with Timex weekenders. Though it is a lower end watchmaker, Timex resists and has still something to say.
