  • A computer-generated stick figure is helping the world's fastest woman run even faster. Biomechanist Ralph Mann's software demonstrates the ideal position for every part of Carmelita Jeter's body during a sprint. The technology lets Jeter and her coach, John Smith, see and fix tiny imperfections that may mean the difference between a great sprint and a phenomenal one. 10.64 no other female sprinter has run faster but the late Florence Griffith Joyner.

She is the world's fastest woman. She has run the fastest officially recognized time. The Olympic 100 race, though prestigious and perhaps the most important race, it is only one race. And the time was not as fast as Jeter's fastest.

technology didnt dos shit for her. sometimes too much technique and computer models slow you down. simply because your mind is over-thinking and overprocessing every twitch and movement. i say it again, you must go by feel body rythem and personal strengths.

greg meister You're right, who the hell is John Smith anyway? Oh, just because he's the best, most successful sprint coach in history doesn't mean he knows more than you! In fact I think they, USATF should call you up, GREG, and let you tell them what to do.

You've never trained before, have you? You learn the correct technique and ingrain it to the point that it feels natural and you won't have to think about it.

      Rubbish.
Seriously training for track is done in seasons, with different focuses on each. You approach correct technique in two ways. The body will always try and sprint at maximum efficiency IN ITS CURRENT STATE, so if you've got a bio-mechanical imbalance, running in a less efficient way will feel natural to you. You correct imbalances by strengthening the weak muscle (link in the chain) or make it flexible. Then, you reinforce the technique into muscle memory using drills so it feels natural.

200m is way too long to determine who's the fastest. Heck, 100 meters may be too long. Of course, I am biased due to American sports.

How can she be the world's fastest woman when she has never won the 100m olympic gold? Sounds too arrognant for me. Prefer allison felix. At least she won the 200m olympic gold and is more humble.

Clive Stewart That's like saying Christian Coleman is faster than Usain Bolt bc Christian beat Usain the two times he faced him but Usain ran the fastest times in history. Christian was faster those two days but he's never run even close to Usain's 3rd fastest time.
