    Carmelita Jeter has been a great athlete, but it's clear that she was much more effective in meetings than in the great competitions. She has 3 of the top 10 times ever in the 100 and she won the only gold in Daegu, because she benefitted from a terrible start of Shelley-Ann Fraser. She basically ran all season for several seasons under 10.80 than she ran 10.90 or 11.00 in the great competitions. She reminds me of Leroy Burrell in some ways.

    • @stevie586
      @stevie586 8 лет назад +3

      I think Jeter's biggest problem that stopped her from being totally dominant in this sport is becoming tense rather than relaxing during her races (due to so much pressure from SAFP and her fast azz starts). Jeter was a normal meet person rather than a big meet person...I agree. I disagree about her benefiting from a terrible start of SAFP in Daegu...actually, leading up to this race it has been exactly the same...SAFP explodes out of blocks, Jeter catches and passes her. They were very consistently the same after 2009...Jeter usually caught and passed SAFP each time. Much like Leroy Burrell, yes.

I think people need to know where civilization started, it was Africa. I grew up in a mixed community, people have the right to be proud of their heritage no matter where they are from. No one has the right to attack anyone because of heritage or culture. During the olympics ppl came from all over this world to compete it was beautiful.

      That was a one off race and Bowie was clearly not at her best. Thompson was supposed to face Schippers, Miller and Okagbare in Monaco but it never materialized. It's hard to consider Elaine a favorite when we haven't seen how she matches up against the favorites. She needs to prove herself before we hang medals around her neck.

    Seems a tall order, but Jeter will have to replicate this type of form or better in Rio if she wants to walk away with a medal. Elaine and Schippers are raising the bar. Just hope she can stay injury free.

    • @anthonyclarke2253
      @anthonyclarke2253 8 лет назад

      +Jonny Woodburn I kinda been holding that in for a couple of years now, cause I didn't want to talk to loud and cause conflict.
      Real talk though, Shelly now more then ever is capable of this. Respect to jeter though for her execution into a slight head wind. No where near as pretty and fluid as flo jo but efficient none the less. I can say this right now, that if she
      remains injury free, she will make to the 100m finals just based on her form alone.
      Getting back to ShelIy, feel like she is going to do it this year. She has incentive, experience and fierce competition, all the right ingredients for her to set a new pb.
      One last thing, this really isn't a slight at Jeter but this race is faster than the 10.64 Shanghai when she had the help of a 1.2m/s. So she really only ran 10.72.

    • @phaethon1988
      @phaethon1988 8 лет назад +4

      Before you start casting all these insinuations why don't you try to find her 10.83 Berlin semi and see how easily she ran it. Maybe it will answer why she eventually ran 10.67 and 10.64. Oh wait, but I forgot , Jonny only pulls on facts that fit his narrative and discards the rest! .....A WC gold, silver and 3 bronzes, an Olympic silver and bronze and some relay medals to boot. That's more than most sprinters male or female rack up in their career. Yes its very successful.

      Jeter ran this like once and shelly dealt with jeter through there career. This is suspicious look at her face body the way she ran. juiced up and her voice is the give away too

      Jeter also ran a 10.64 and she beat smelly Ann several times. smelly and her entire crew is doped

    we're also the #1 in gold medals and a host of other things. None of it means that Carmelita is cheating. And though I ain't accusing no one of anything, I find it funny that both SAFP and Blake failed drug test for substances that could be considered mild stimulants. I mean you'd think that athletes at such high levels would be more informed. All that and Jeter has yet to fail ONE.

      SAFP had Oxycodone in her system. Which is an Opioid painkiller. This is more of a drug that will dehance your performance.. rather than enhance your performance..

    Nothing todo with this race but what I dont get is.. for any Olympic Athlete; how do years pass then all of a sudden we hear in the news that such-n-such person or team is havin his or her metal removed/taken due to using enhancers. Sooo much time has passed ya kno. Also note, it may not be Roids, hell, they wont even let some sport teams drink energy drinks like RedBull, Monster, NOS, RokStarr and so on. No tellin what else might be on the list as an "Enhancer"

    @CHEETAH69 I don't think she just as muscular though she is muscular. She was much more cut and defined two years ago. She don't come close to her 10.60s because she never ran in those times. You are not going to run in the 10.60s and can't do it again.
