This is an amazing demonstration! I was really able to understand the science behind why the ball spins vs. goes straight down. Thanks so much!

Thank you Ian for this excellent video. I saw it yesterday and used it today for my slice second serve. It worked great. Nobody else said to hit the back of the ball, which makes it easier to swing out to the right side fence for a righty. I remembered to toss high and swing fast and your instructions made all the difference in the world for my second serve, without much practice. I had been struggling for a long time with my slice second serve. Thanks again and great work!

Interesting take on the slice serve; Patrick Mouratoglou teaches a dffferent method - he teaches to hit with a more closed racket face, with your swing path still toward the box (or tee) - essentially the serve is the same as the flat serve with the exception of less pronation
Could you break down that method and share if its a viable method?

Some great visual references in there . Thanks Ian .
Slightly confused why the second part of the vid seemed more appropriate for a kick serve action.🤔

That's because they're cousins 😊. I dive into what makes them similar and different towards the end of this video: ruclips.net/video/Rfs95Fdpsz0/видео.htmlsi=Ecd1EjrRDV0tiD8r

to get the slice and looking at the drone photo of Kevin, it looks like the ball is struck a few inches more inside the court, as though the helps align the face of the racket to the wide corner

Ian I was watching Tsitsipas hit a slice to the deuce court and it seemed his toss was a little further to his right than his flat serve. I was wondering if I should try to slightly move my toss a little to the right to practice a more effective slice. What do you think? Have a nice evening

The face sends it, the path bends it. Will add this to my phrases such as McArthur Style, I shall return.
