How to Install TWRP on the Redmi 7

So, before we can begin to install TWRP, you will need to unlock the bootloader of the Redmi 7. I have previously shown you how this is done in a previous tutorial so please reference that if you have yet to do so. Once the bootloader is unlocked, we can begin the process of preparing to install TWRP and Magisk (if you want) on the Redmi 7.
Installing TWRP opens up a smartphone to a vast array of new features. A version of this custom recovery is now available for Xiaomi Redmi 7 users and we can install it on our smartphone right now. You will just make sure you have unlocked the bootloader before you begin thinking about installing the custom recovery on the device.

I booted into this TWRP img temporarily, and it FAILED. It said "Downloading okay" but the next step said Failed. "Status Read failed"

Thank you so much man, I rooted my device with this video, but recently I got in a problem updating MIUI and lost TWRP, I tried following this video again but for some reason the command in powershell only had the output "< waiting for any device >" while my phone was on fastboot mode and connected to the pc, any idea about what happened?

Plz help! whenever twrp is flashed it asks for password to decrypt data, if I click cancel then it shows internal storage 0mb.

press cancel worked for me.
if it doesnt work go to backup in tdrp and do it after that go to wipe and after that inter should show up

Didn't work, idk why. I did every step, my phone is unlocked i did the twrp thing then I installed the magisk. the version of the magisk I used is 20.4 which I believe is the latest. when it has completed installing, i rebooted the system as shown from the video. Noting happened, no magisk thing, Nothing. please help

Seems to work very well too. LR Team has been doing great with these early Xiaomi TWRP builds
so now i just download the latest twrp and follow the same?
When I open the recovery, it restarts the recovery and does not work
tried this on the note 7 pro and its stuck on twrp recovery. i forgot to make a backup. i tried installing a chinese rom but no luck.

I am looking into the recent encryption/twrp/miui issue right now.
I need the recovery stock
Download the "Fastboot ROM" for the version of Android (presumably MIUI) that you're currently on. Extract it and look in the "images" folder. YOu'll find a "recovery.img" file in there. PUt htat in your adb/fastboot folder and boot into Fastboot Mode. Then execute the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img in a command prompt/terminal/powershell
