Woodturning - The Weeping Willow
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 30 окт 2019
- In this video I take a piece of Willow and certainly make it weep ..you can probably tell by the video that I made it up as I went along .. I found the grain a bit bland and there was a knot I wasn't keen on, so I did a bit of texturing using a saburr tooth bit and some colouring (if you call black a colour) not sure if I like it but I suppose you need to try theses things .. Thanks for watching.

I fell out of a weeping willow in front of my grandparents home about 40 years ago while trying to climb it. Still have the scar on my face today. Still think about it whenever I see one.
Fantastic job sir 🤟🏾
One of these days he's going to troll us all by starting with a log and just turning it down into nothing.
That would be amazing
This made me laugh because I’ve had this exact thought watching videos like this.
I’d be okay with that
😂😂
Or in a twist of irony, makes a new handle for one of his tools he just used.
Imagine being a insect living in that moss. Out of nowhere u start spinning like crazy
🤣
And then you get viciously maimed
All in the name of beauty
It’ll be seeing stars.

For those who cant tell this is a joke

Facts
Had a weeping willow in my backyard for years. It was huge. One night, during a bad windstorm, it fell. It knocked out about half of the awning (built in back patio cover). The trunk is still laying in the backyard, it's been there for about 2 or 3 years now.
@@mikemerrill175 what will they do to a septic drain field?

Love seeing wood being turned art. It's so mesmerizing ❤
Can we point out this came out about a year ago and he's still hearting messages. Also why are people disliking the video for the spray paint I honestly like but you shouldn't dislike a video because you don't like that he used spray paint
Honestly I disliked the video because I don‘t like that he used spray paint.
Isn't that the point of disliking videos? You don't like it, you dislike. I just disliked the video because I can. 🤣
I haven't pressed the dislike button, but I do dislike the final product because I think it's ugly and looks unfinished, regardless of it he varnished it at the end. The little divets were so crudely done and looked really rough. The black paired with the light brown of the willow was also an undesirable colour combination...but that's just my opinion so who cares? Seems like a lot of people like it.
dumb, stupid, repeated comment
As a man in the reptile hobby, it hurt seeing that absolutely beautiful log be stripped of the moss and lichen, we strive for that in bioactive setups, awesome build doe
Exactly how I was feeling. I was like noooo!! I thought for sure he was going to leave the beautiful moss and incase it in resin. 😩 what I would do to find a log like that.

Respect the work you put in. That said- the finished product falls under the 'crab suburban housewives buy' category
Wtf is it?
What do you mean exactly? I'm guessing you said crap and your auto correct changed it to crab. If so I'd love to see you do better all by yourself.

Yeah the decorative touches on this piece felt like a total throw away, tragic waste of material

The grain of the weeping willow really comes out against the black pitted part. An interesting concept as well. Very new. I like it
I can't understand why the hell did they dislike his videos while in fact, it's creative! U trully are an artist 💛
maybe because people have tripophobia, just like I had
Some ppl dont like this and disliking can help the algorithm get rid of it. But so can the do not reccomend feature.
People get jealous easily.
They dislike because the holes with no pattern phobia things, yea some people had that kind of phobia
I don't think this is your most successful piece but I admire your willingness to experiment and take risks. There are many I'm quite sure who will find this an admirable work of art.
Your finished result in some ways reminds me of an Oregon white oak acorn. You went from the remains of one tree, the willow, to symbolizing the birth of another in your finished product. To me, it speaks very much of the cycle of the planet. Beautiful work.
I can’t sleep, but as soon as I watch a video I immediately get tired🥱, and when I’m done watching and turn off my phone I’m not tired 😒

Nossa, que trabalho maravilhoso!! É incrível. Parabéns!!!!!
19k dislikes for what because someone is truly talented
talented but i would say it is objectively not good with it spray-painted black around the pitting. it's an odd technique but i think its too dark (opaque) a little grain could show through and i think it would look lots better as a whole piece.
No the 19k dislikes are probably because someone chopped down a tree to do this video
