- The LISHI Tools Are A True Game Changer For US Locks, I Feel So Lucky To Have A Complete Set!

Lishi tools are historically utilized in the automotive industry and NOW they are starting to appear in the residential / commercial lock market in the form of the Kwikset (KW1) and (KW5) and Schlage (SC1) and (SC4) keyways. These are two of the most common residential locks that one can find in North American. Now you can get them for American locks as well in the AM5 keyway.
What is so special about the Lishi 2-in-one Pick and Decoder is it has the ability to have a true novice learn how to pick open a lock very quickly.
How does this become a potential game changer? Why am I excited to own all of the different residential lock types?
1. Novices can learn to pick open a lock quickly. (A great learning / teaching tool!)
2. Where this tool really stands out is it can be used to decode a picked lock IN SECONDS. (No more taking locks apart!)
What are the potential implications?
This makes it so someone could potentially pick, decode, and code cut a key in minutes. This could be done for a happy customer or for more insidious reasons. This tool does impact the potential security of two of the most common residential locks Kwikset and Schlage.
Fail-Safes
1. Lock smiths won’t typically cut a code cut key for someone they do not know or someone that can not reasonably show ownership of the lock.
2. This tool can only be currently purchased by lock smiths
3. Most unauthorized entry comes from destructive entry and not through lock picking. As nice as it looks in the movies picking a real lock takes time and patience and is much more difficult in a “field setting” vs a “lab setting.”
Thank you for checking out the unboxing of these fantastic tools and I hope you enjoy the demo of them in use!

Congrats on adding those to your arsenal! Very cool tools that can be incredibly useful for us who tend to get a lot of locks with no keys. Picking's fun and all but making your own key afterwards is super handy too 👍
I played with it last night and decoded the vast majority of my Kwikset locks. It's fun to compare my visual Decode by looking at the key versus what it actually is :-)
@@HelpfulLockPicker Ha, that's cool. I still suck at that game. Lol
Oh Boy, some new toys to play with! Looks like they'll be nice to have and fun to use.
Yes they are :)
Great tools!!
Love Lishi picks!!!
Thank you for sharing this!!
🐈👍🐈🐾
Thanks for checking them out!
Those Lishi picks look pretty amazing to be honest. All 3 in one go must have set you back a bit on cost.
That's a bit expensive but I'm happy to have them :-)
A substantial investment -- nice. Remember also that the tension handle cannot only be reversed, but moved closer to the front of the plug for maximum feedback.
Thanks for sharing! It's good to see you commenting again :-)
Great job my friend, I love my Lishi tools.
thanks for checking it out! They really great tool :-)
Lockpickinglawyer just released his sparrows "the pick that him and bosian bill came up with"
I saw that! I am excited to see what the reviews say. For now, I'm going to hold off since I already have a much better DD pick. They are in limited supply and Inwoild hate for someone not to get one that really wants one
@@HelpfulLockPicker they are already sold out of the new pick - awaiting more stock
I wonder what will be available first hand sanitizer or these, lol
@@HelpfulLockPicker 🤣nice
Awesome picks my friend and nicely picked
thanks for checking it out!
how can you tell by looking at a lockset to know if it is 5 pin or six. can you use a sc4 on a 5 pin lockset ?
Enjoy your videos, more so because any "lock sport" material drives my wife nuts- she just doesn't get it. I'm curious, where or how can I purchase a cut-away American padlock like the one seen in your video? Thanks for all the enjoyment!
They are mostly made by members in the community. Supallama used to make and sell them. I would contact him
Great demo! I would like to buy the Schlage tool.
Thanks for checking it out!
@@HelpfulLockPicker thanks for the great video!
Nice tools...
great video...
Thanks for checking them out!
Great vid HLP keep up the great work/vids. :)
Thank you for the kind words!
What’s the best website to get the tools?
Those are really great LP tools man !!
Thanks for checking them out!
can you tell please if it can pick CISA 285-84 ?
I don't think so because that would not be a key way that the tool comes in
@@HelpfulLockPicker even if the CISA not dimple ?
Thank you very much!
I really appreciate all your teaching. I do not expect a reply, but I'm a maintenance man, doing work for a property manager that has many properties. I'm wanting to rekey locks. I've been asking questions from International Key Supply. Not sure where to start with typical Schlage and Kwikset basic supplies to rekey. I've watched a few of your videos and seen some shims and other tools. I just want the basics for re-keying a door handle and deadbolt, especially to a key that is already to another door of the same residence.
Short story is what basic tools should I buy
I would check out maybe CLK supply.
You need an appropriate keybank, shim stock, appropriate sized plug follower, tweezers, repin kit (can easily get at CLK), some part of pinning mat or tray, and a way to cut a new key.
You may need some miscellaneous stuff like a screwdriver. Check out my basic home lock Smith series :)
@@HelpfulLockPicker wow! Thank you very much! I will look it up. I have lots of tools for my handyman and pressure washing business. But I just need a basic set for lock-picking and rekeying. Thanks again. I have liked all you are videos I have watched and I am subscribed to your Channel.
Another thing I forgot to add is a set of digital calipers goes a long way. You can also consider buying a universal pinning tray. But if you know you are mostly going to deal with only Kwikset and Schlage it won't be entirely necessary
Great video. 😎
Thanks for checking it out!
If you have a SC4 for 6 pin locks do you also need the SC1 for 5 pin locks or will the SC4 also decode 5 pin locks?
The SC4 will work but I don't prefer doing it like that
@@HelpfulLockPicker Why not?
I don't like putting added stress on the tool. Also, if you do not have it inserted just right it can be misaligned and make it inaccurate.
@Patrick G if it is a KIK cylinder with a tail piece you have to have it sticking out one slot and I'm not a big fan of that. These tools already seem somewhat delicate
Hello thanks for making this video. I need to pick a schlage deadbolt lock, which of there's tools do I need and how can I know how many pins the lock has?
SC1 or SC4 is most common. Just insert a blank and see what fits. Residential is usually 5 and commercial is usually 6
I just can't unlock a door that's closed with 6pins, but I did unlock a door that's actually opened, that I locked, don't know why it's easier to do it if door is open
I got the same 3 picks maybe a month ago, great fun. :) Have you tried the AM5 in any Paclocks? I found that the pick wont go in all the way because the top of the keyway is too small and or the retainer (trap door) is in the way. Maybe Paclock did this on purpose?
I haven't yet but I heard the tool doesn't fit well in the knockoff Americans either
@@HelpfulLockPicker u think it fit master lock 6 pinners?
That's ok for you fellas in the USA but here in the UK I'm having difficulty trying to find lishi to fit our domestic locks and padlocks maybe you could come up with suggestions.
Robbie from Huyton Liverpool UK
I don't have any influence but I agree more profiles would be great
Very nice lishi picks. Is there a difference between the lishi pick and the SPP picking. I was just wondering. What would you use the lishi on?
Lishi makes it easy to always know where you are in the lock. I think it makes locks like Schlage easier because the keyway can sometimes be tricky with difficult bitting. The thing I like most about them is decoding the key after picking it. This is a powerful thing to be able to do.
Another application when I find them quite useful is when you are picking a lock which is upsidedown.
@@HelpfulLockPicker o ok thank you. I always wondered that.
Been watching your videos for awhile. Where do you buy your cut-a way locks
I got most of mine on eBay
Can anyone explain me how you know which lishi to use as soon as you see the lock? I know a kiwckset, schlage logo on it gives you an idea (KW or SC) but what I don't understand is if I should use KW1, KW2, KW5, etc.
If you use an SC4 on an SC1 it will stick out too far. If you are going to be using a Lishi tool you are likely looking to cut a key so you should already have a blank ready which would let you know the keyway
Do you have have to buy these separately or do these come all together?
You usually buy them separately
Does lishi have a decoder pick for the Trioving tv-3d jma key lock system?
I would go on their website and check
I got SC1&4, KW1&5, AM5, and M1/MS2 Lishi picks for $350.
6 tools for $350, I’ll let you know how it goes
Thanks for checking it out
Great Vid thanks, what would be your suggestion for a Lishi tool for Australian type locks, Cheers
It depends on what you are going to use it for. For residential type locks they only have a small selection: KW1, KW1, SC1, SC4, AM5, M1.
That look great for the lock Smith. Where can I get those. I will appreciate the help. KEEP DOIN NICE VIDEOS

Wich lishi is the best for European locks?
You need the specific lishi for the specific lock
@@HelpfulLockPicker And there are hundreds if not thousends of keyways in europe... so, no Lishi tool for us
Have you got a link please where you got the lishi from? Thanks

Since you have the 6 pin ones you won’t need the 5ers 😂😉
I know it's more expensive but I honestly rather have both I don't like doing the SC4 on the 5 pin
HelpfulLockPicker that’s cool buddy
Yes, no need for the SC1, the SC4 works just fine in 5 and 6 pin locks :p
Great tools. Where'd you purchase these at? I'm curious if you dont mind telling how much you have invested in the kishi collection
you have to be a locksmith to order them. if I remember correctly they were all about $115 each but the American Lock one was cheaper.
Now if they only made one for BEST I.C. Cores!
At the rate they're going who knows what they'll have next. I still really want to have a Yale one
Joseph Wright they do have one for the Best IC core but remember there are many many many Best Key ways. The one out now fits I think the A keyway, could be mistaken on that .
But it’s really tough to pick a Best lock with it.
👍🐈👍🐾
@@chriscapune7873 thanks for correcting me, I totally forgot about that! I remembered I looked at them and wasn't interested pretty much because of what you're saying :-)
HelpfulLockPicker yes, supposed to be coming out with one that will fit a few key ways, but I don’t know when. 😀
Stay safe my friend!!
👍🐈👍🐾🔑
@@chriscapune7873 I will keep bumping them until then!
You do not need the SC1. The SC4 can pick both 5 and pins. only difference will be that pin no 6 on a 5 pin lock with the SC4 will just fall on nothing.
Sometimes the spacing is a little bit difficult

Thank you
Which 1 wil work in euro , thx
It has to fit the keyway
Those things are amazing! It looks so easy that it seems like cheating. 😉
I think it is highly over underestimated how powerful these are in North America. This combination can get you into many locks and the fact that you can decode the key is crazy

Kw is for kwikset
How do I get my own Pickler tell me how

Were can you purchase these tools an cost
www.originallishi.com/vendors/
is it good for European locks?
These are only good for the keyway written on the tool
The Lishi KW and SC are up to 4x the price of the Lishi vehicle tool models. Good Old Supply and Demand Economics.
Thanks for checking them out though!
do you guys think the am5 lishi will fit master pucklock 6271
Master Lock doesn't usually have American lock cores
Lock picks are not cool depending on how you choosing to use them.
Thanks for sharing this
I want those tools but they're very expensive
Thanks for checking them out
Problem is the am5 doesn't work on all American locks. The one you used looks like a 1100 series. It doesn't fit in all of the 5200 series locks
Thank you for sharing
@@HelpfulLockPicker so what is the lishi tool for them?
Useful but surprisingly expensive.
thank you for checking it out :-)
Where do u get your picks from?
This particular set I purchased on eBay.
Thanks
Does that work on all American locks? I.e the 1100?
That works on the 1100 but it specifically works on whichever American Lock takes AM5 blank
Where can i buy the lishi kit kindly advise and share the link love it
You can buy it from any of their authorized distributors, however, you need to show them that you are a locksmith. If you would like to get it another way I can not advise you on it.
