Thank you! I’ve just got a GPD G1 for my Legion Go and have been tearing my hair out trying to resolve the driver issues. Your clear, concise and accurate instructions fixed my problems - liked and subscribed!
This was SO helpful thank you thank you! I don't even have the same setup: I'm using the GPD G1 egpu, and I got the Chinese version of the Legion Go. My problem was reinstalling English Windows and the US Drivers, but you showed me how to get the correct graphics drivers working, and now it's all good. Thank you again! :) :) :)
Thanks for the tutorial, still working 7months later. FYI CCC = Catalyst Control Centre, it is a very old hang over from the ATI Radeon days before AMD owned them.
I have been battling with this issue for 2 weeks , I was about to get rid of the legion go and the ones eGPU, my game where crashing very frustrating. Thank you for this fix.
You’re super welcome! 😊 It is very frustrating. I was so excited and relieved when I finally figured out a fix. If you run into any issues, feel free to come ask any time.
Thank you for this video. I realized what I messed up on when I tried to download the driver for the onexgpu. I messed my system all up 😅. But since you said that install driver only for the onexgpu. I realized what I done.
Thanks for the guide! Nearly held off on buying a egpu for my legion go as i heard it was not possible to sideload. This info is very helpful. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for this one, two quick questions: 1- Can you do this process as a first time install/ addition of the onexgpu or you need to go through the previous tutorial you shared? 2- Does every update of drivers have to be like this or is it possible to do it directly to Adrenaline? jkust wondering Thanks again, you rock!
You're welcome! I would recommend using the other external fix video to get the AMD Radeon Graphics driver for the Legion changed to the 780m one and to swap the program to the AMD settings app. After that you can use this video. Future state will depend on AMD releasing an update that makes having a handheld driver and an egpu a seemless process. With how popular PC handhleds are gettings, hopefully we will see them upgrade their adrenaling app to allow easy updates (within the app) and good compatibility.
Hi Nelly, I followed your instructions (noob here) and everything worked great. I even restarted several times after the update and everything still working fine. However, the next day my LEGO failed to recognize the EGPU driver and give me the exclaimation mark. I played around with it and figured out the the LEGO is confused as it reverted back to the old (and shitty) ONEXGPU driver from July of 2023. Apparently with the old driver still in the system, my LEGO was confused and didn't know which one to use. Everytime I boot up, I have to update the driver to point back to the 3/13/24 version. I got pissed off, pointed back to the old drivers, selected uninstall device and removed all drivers associated to this device. When I reinstall with the updated drivers again and now it seems like it is working fine (for the past 3 days). Just want to share this tip if anyone else is having the same issue as me. Seems like I should've removed the old drivers first before doing a completely clean install of the new drivers. I never had this kind of issue where windows is confused on which driver to use. Note that previously I had used the ONEXGPU recommended (crappy) driver before - because I was having issues with ONEXGPU co-existing with the LEGO internal GPU. Again, thanks for your update on this! I'm now much happier with my ONEXGPU purchase than I was a week ago.
Awesome! I’m glad. I’m going to make a new install video hopefully this week to get everyone off to a good start the way it needs to be to really enjoy the devices together.
Is it just me or did anyone lose the function of the fps counter with this update? I had the onexgpu official driver from onex and it worked. Also, one of your previous videos you said that the gpu kept coming disconnected and you changed cables. With the official onex driver this didnt happen to me but it is now since the new driver install. I think its a problem with the drivers. Just letting you know. Thank you though for your tutorial it was pretty simple.
If you go into the AMD settings app, there’s an overlay tab where you can select to enable metric overlay and pick which info you want displayed and where you want it on the screen. This one should work for you.
I just posted a gameplay video with hogwarts legacy but at the start of the video I show how to get the AMD fps overlay running through the AMD settings app.
What do you recommend for vram when bouncing back and forth between the igpu and OneXgpu? I usually leave my Ally on auto so it will use what it needs in handheld mode and will dedicate more to ram when connected to the XG mobile. That way I'm not constantly having to mess with it, I think the Legion has an auto option in bios but I haven't checked yet
Hi Nelly! Your video helped me make the OneXGPU work with my Legion Go outputting to a monitor. Was wondering if you have anything that can help me make the ssd I installed on the OneXGPU appear as currently, it's not showing up when I open File Explorer.
Hey! I’m glad it’s working for you now. 😊 Search for the “create disk partition” program, open it up, scroll down to find the drive, and format the ssd to ntfs if you haven’t already. If it’s already formatted, right click and assign a drive letter to it like E or F if D is already taken by an sd card. That should make it show up. Let me know if that fixes it.
i have the oxp x1 and onexgpu amd version, i updated the x1 i didnt have a optiion for the egpu and the egpu wont let me play any games unless i disconnect it. do you think this will solve the issue?
Dang didn’t know you had to do this to get egpu’s to work. Thought about getting one just cause but I have a gaming pc already so no need just wanted to experiment but after this I won’t even think about it. Better off getting a laptop or desktop for the price of all this and the troubleshooting.
If you got an enclosure and an nvidia card this extra process to micro manage the AMD drivers isn’t needed. Silly that the AMD Z1 extreme and AMD eGPU’s don’t get along seamlessly.
I'm having some major troubles 😞 I explained it all in the replies for the last video. Awaiting your response. Hopefully we can resolve and maybe provide a solution for anyone else who encounters this
I found that the cable that came with the OneXGPU doesn't always connect properly. Try shutting down the Legion go and then powering off the onexgpu. Unplug the thunderbolt 4 from both devices then plug it back into both. Turn on the ONEXGPU first with the power button, then turn on the Legion Go. I have two other thunderbolt 4 cables that I use instead on the one it came with.
@@GamingRepairs I've been using the cord that you recommended with the digital display. Now I might have a bigger problem because I proceeded to download the new driver update for the OneX as I was watching the video before it got to the part where you said don't do anything with them yet 😑

No, I haven’t noticed any drops in performance undocked. The drivers are more up to date than the Legion go official ones since AMD releases updates a lot more frequently than Lenovo. You do lose the lenovo overlay fps counter ability though.
hey just wanted to give a heads up on my situation, i havent played for about 3 days and last time i played was all good from wat i recall, but today as i plugged it in and it loaded up the gpu i went to start a game walked away for 30 sec and wen i came back i hear the gpu disconnect from windows so i unplug and replug (top usb) and no gpu conn. just charge while noticing how hot the usb c plug was (onex original) so i test it on the bottom 1 and it works still so idk if it is but seems the usb c fried the top port, so if ya see /feel the cable hot dont risk it lol
Jeez! That’s wild. I don’t trust the factory onex cable… Thanks for sharing! Hopefully it still works when I cools down. The razer thunderbolt 4 cable is a solid replacement option but it’s expensive.

Go back into the folders and install the ccc2 application file again. Restart and the xconnect application should appear on the bottom right and the amd settings app should be back. 😊
I already did but there is amd settings installed in apps, but I can't find it im task bar to open. I also don't know how to make egpu as primary gpu when opening a game
It might be called something else in the search bar now. I’m away from my legion go for the weekend and can’t double check yet. If you type amd in the search and click on the first app that pops up, does that work?
Does this work on rog ally
Hey! The driver conversion from the AMD Radeon Graphics to the 780m and the AMD settings app install portions both work on the Rog Ally.
The OneXGPU however will not work with the ally. The XG Mobile eGPU from Asus is the only eGPU that will work with the Rog Ally.
@@GamingRepairs Thanks for the comment, but xg mobile is expensive and not available
But Ally X should work
It's Nice to see a Lady lecture/teach us on how to install or do stuffs, 👍 'Coz most of them ladies are rather promoting their Only Fans 😂😂😂 which is sickening 😂😂
Thanks 😂🙌🏻
These guides frustrated me you make so many assumptions and lose me and then going back to find where I left off is a nightmare
Where are you stuck? I can try to help. I have extra links and details in the description too.
you need to know your way around. for those who are adept with pc's, this is an excellent guide. obviously when you are navigating folders you have to think on your feet going from version to version. that B#### folder is going to change name over time. This is a basis for application video. Those who have a legion go and a onexgpu usually have some intelligence around computers as these are niche products...
Do you uninstall the current driver when trying to update the new driver ?? I do not have the warning sign.
You don’t have to uninstall if you’re just updating the same drivers (780m and 7600m XT). I’ve never had to uninstall for updates on these. 🙂
@GamingRepairs I got it figured. I still really appreciated the video. I just had a little catching up to get the gyst of it.
