I really love this scene because it shows that these people have an actual passion for the dinosaurs before it all went wrong.
When Ellie says "Hey Baby Girl" with years in her eyes with John Williams music composed for that scene really hits the feels
Erick: I liked your first book best. You liked dinosaurs back then.
Alan: Well back then they hadn't tried to eat me yet.
@@SPN16it always gets me too. You're not alone.
@@SPN16. Agree.

I absolutely love Ellie and Alan's reactions when they first see the Triceratops. Really drives home the wonder of these animals
It reminds of myself when I worked as a zookeeper since as a kid I was fascinated about rhinos then when I could touch it my reaction was the same
Alan's favorite dinosaur growing up finally met her in person
It was my favorite too
Mine too.
And Billy Cranston's power set in MMPR.

The sad thing about this scene is that, wonderous as it is, it's clear that Hammond's staff has no idea how to care for these animals. Poor thing is so sick.
Not their fault, thing has been extinct for millions of yeara
But they learn what went wrong and act on it. Back when dogs were first domesticated, I doubt the cavemen had any idea what to do either.
It ate a poisonous plant didn’t it?
Yeah. That's the point of the whole film.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Malcolm explains why in the book. The air had a different amount of oxygen (I think it was oxygen anyway) when the Triceratops existed than now so it’s wheezing like crazy in the book.

Ellie crying of happiness would be my reaction if I get to see my favorite animal up close and personal which would be an Orca/Killer Whale. These small details are truly of what made the first JP films so amazing
100 percent the same. Watching people get to swim with Orcas actually brought me back to this scene for the same reason
I wouldn't mess with an Orca personally
I'm so happy that we got a LEGO Jurassic Park set based on this moment.

In case you need to see the stupidity of people, someone took a publicity still of Steven Spielberg in front of this Tric and captioned it that Spielberg brought it down on safari. People actually got angry at Spielberg for killing an innocent triceratops.
Whoa I didn't know that! Maybe people thought it was a rhino
😂
If we needed further proof that people are complete idiots
Lmao!
You can’t be serious? 😂 holy hell..
I just love Ellie's reaction above any reaction/interaction in the entire franchise. Her tears of joy move me. If i was staring my favorite exotic animal (whale or elephant) in the eye and physically touching it, i would just be so overwhelemed with happiness. And to add to her character, she got STRAIGHT TO WORK in helping aid the poor, sick trike. Examining its saliva, investigating the plant and vegetation, digging SHOULDER-DEEP into dino-droppings!!! It's characters like Ellie's that really got me into zoology/biology growing up. Wildlife deserves EVERY OUNCE of our respect and love❤
Triceratops was a horned dinosaur, up to 26-30 feet long, and weighed 8 tons! It was one of the last dinosaurs that became extinct 65 million years ago!

In the Jurassic lore. after the fall of Jurassic Park in 1993, a sick triceratops has die in 1994 so, I’m guessing it was the one that alan grant encountered was the one that die.
INTERESTING TIDBIT: the Triceratops’ caretaker is played by Gerald R. Molen, one of the film’s co-producers, who also co-produced Schindler’s List and won an Oscar for it, the same year…
What was the fate of his character in this film? We don't see him again, did he make it out of the island?

To think there are people in this world that actually believe these amazing animals never existed.

Makes me cry every time. Also: the animatronics in JW are NOTHING to what Stan Winston achieved in Jp

That's how I felt with the _2019 Lion King, 2020 Mulan_ and _Wonder Woman 1984._
Me when I see that the giga in the movie is not much of a villain
0:16 (Raises her Foot) "Hello."
Triceratops is one of my favorite dinosaurs off all time
Me too
In the remake, it’s a sick Crichtonsaurus (identified as “Ankylosaur”) which mistakenly ate some these berries, thinking they’re stones, and got the toxicity.
And in the book it’s a stegosaurus
In the remake? When was the first film remade?
I always wondered what was wrong with the triceratops. Cause they never really said the cause.
She ate a lilac plant that made her sick
I think it was a modern plant that didn't exist in the Jurassic period
I believe in the book it’s explained that the triceratops swallows stones found near the toxic plant. The plant leeches the toxin into the ground and it causes the stones to become toxic as well. Like modern chickens swallow small stones to help grind food in their gizzards. Dinosaurs swallowed stones to help grind up food in their gizzards.
@@dinoflagella4185 makes sense
I think it was in the book that what happens is the Triceratops ingests stones into a special pouch along the digestive tract to aid with pulverizing the food, and that in ingesting these stones, are also swallowing the berries, or something else from the plant. The stone thing is actually a common practice amongst some species of birds, iirc.
1:34 Gerry saying “I’ll be damned” was one of his lines in JPTG when he cured Nima from the Troodon venom.
Makes me appreciate Telltale’s attention to detail even more.
Ellie Seattle's reaction on everything: 😮😲😱
The fact we're getting the lego sets of Jurassic Park
Trike in Jp: Take care of me, I'm in pain
Trike in TLW: *MOVE B¡+CH, GET OUT THE WAY!*
Trike in JPTG: Get out of my territory! (Then fights Rexy in an iconic fight)
I think it was a stegosaurus in TLW movie, not a triceratops. I'm sure I remember them having plates on their backs. (If you're talking about the book, my apologies. I don't remember it in enough detail to comment).

My dad dragged me to the cinema to see this when I was 9. I thought this scene and the lunch scene was pretty boring but now I’m older they are integral to the film.
Nobody's mentioning a very cool tidbit so I will, the triceratops doctor is the father of Sarah Harding from The Lost World
The actor is Julianne Moore's dad?

The triceratops has always been my favorite dinosaur since I was a kid when I saw the movie when it came out seen this part i feel bad for the triceratops and wish I could give her a big hug.
Guy with the glasses is the best character in the movie
Dando uma surra de qualidade visual nos filmes de hoje. 👏🏼
Damn, been a long time since i saw this movie
I love how they all just prior to this segment, jump out of the moving vehicles (the one fairly safe place they had) and start trekking through random, potentially (in fact, most certainly) inhabited triceratops paddock.... Wild! 😳
1:17 is exactly what’s missing from the Jurassic World films

2:47 One of the most iconic moments of cinema.
My most favorite type of dinosaur.
My favorite Samuel Jackson part, when he appeared as Whats His Name from Jurassic Park.
This scene is better than anything the Jurassic World movies produced
The heart and soul desperately missing from Jurassic World
Triceratops is one of my favorite dinosaurs
FUN FACT!: during the 1994 JP cleanup they found this same triceratops with tyrannosaurus bite marks in it
1:10 - is that John Patrick Lowrie aka TF2's Sniper?
It most certainly is
No, it's Bob Peck, who died long before TF2.
0:48 Me too, Alan. Me too.
Ian Malcolm here later wound up dating and marrying the triceratops care taker's daughter
2:45 damn!
Jurassic Park is a year older than I was born.
That sense of wonder is lacking in the later Jurassic Park movies, they go way too fast at the "monster movie" part of the film and forget the heart part of it.
If this was real you’d have to knock me out to stop me doing what Alan did and lean on it’s stomach.
I Like That Movie
I hate to see a sick dinosaur.
After reading the book I actually like that they went with a triceratops than a stegosaurus. However I don't like that they changed Hammond's character cause he's the antagonist of the whole book
I disagree. This portrayal of Hammond is much more nuanced.
Poor Tria she's sick and after Rexy gets out she will put Tria out of her misery. Tria ate the wrong plant and got poisoned thats why Dr. Harding and Maldoon had to tranquilize her.

“Dino Droppings” as in “Dino Dung”?
The triceratops are the best and bravest three horn dinosaur ever truth is I wish the male triceratops could go one on one against the indoraptor or indominus rex
I thought T-Rex attacked triceratops when I was little
My honest reaction to the entire Jurassic World trilogy: 2:52
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TRAINER???????
So did they ever find out what was wrong with the triceratops. I was curious when I watched the movie and sadly they never go into what was wrong with it.
“The triceratops digests food such as vegetables or fruit by also eating small stones that crush and mash the food in their stomach. In the original book upon which the film is based, we find out that the stones it eats are too close to poisonous West Indian Lilac berries. So when the dinosaur replaces the stones every six weeks it simultaneously picks up some of the fallen berries and is poisoned”
In all likelihood, there was probably gonna be a scene where they reach the same conclusion as the book's rationalization, but I imagine it was probably cut for runtime.
I don't wanna imagine the poor girl's fate when all the carnivores get loose
Its also my favorite dinosaur
If Jurrasic Park opened with only herbivors how safe would it be ?

Im gonna draw them a spinosaurus and a trex
