  • Tonight I captured the Full Moon rise in Capricorn. With plenty of cloud looming around the sky I didn't know if I would even see the moon rise but, conditions prevailed & it was perfect.
This time lapse is made up of 793 single images slowed down to get as close to real time as I could get it with out it becoming jumpy.
I captured this image 4.9 kilometers from Cape Byron Lighthouse on Belongil Beach. I used Canon 7D, Canon 1.4 extender & Canon 600mm IS II f/4. The Distance of the moon from earth was 402,190 kilometers.

    But...perspective! wink wink
Awesome moonrise! Makes me want to go to Australia and shoot a time lapse like that one myself.
I hope this video gets a million views. It's amazing.

Awesome, the best moon rising I've seen. Great to see the detail with the camera as well. Really like it.

A 15 ton dump truck suddenly appeared in my right windshield, as I pulled up to an intersection out on a country road by a stop sign. Somehow, the large truck remained invisible, hidden by the windshield post and the rear view mirror on the right door, until I took a second look, just before I almost pulled right into it's path. First there was no truck. Then quickly, there was this huge truck right in front of me. It taugt me a lesson, to wait, look again, believe that such a small obstruction can hide something big and dangerous. Twice this month the same thing happened but with smaller cars. I just nearly pulled out in front of one of them. I've learned to look twice. Small objects hide BIG objects until theyre right on top of you .

Little things that are close can obscure big things that are far. Your point is?
