Super Blue Moon Rising - Byron Bay
Tonight I captured the Last Blue Super Moon until 2029. It was a spectacular moment with cloud above, even rain & we even got some lightning which you can see on the lighthouse of this video. But that said, all the elements came together for me tonight. I saw the cloud coming across with a big rain bank & all i could do was hope for the best & my hope worked. The horizon was clear & I managed to Capture the Full Blue Super Moon rising behind Cape Byron Lighthouse. The last Full Blue Super Moon I captured was in 2015 & it was amazing & this Blue Moon is the last we will see until 2029. What a special moment.

Gemini Rising

Last night I was lucky to witness & capture this magnificent moon rise in the constellation of Gemini. Throughout the day there was plenty of cloud looming around & I didn't think I would have much hope capturing anything but at around 5pm the sky cleared up so I thought I would go out & try to capture the rising moon. I got to Belongil Beach & it was howling Northerly which is not what you wan...

Full Moon rise in Capricorn - 05/07/2020 Yesterday I went out to capture the Full Moon rising behind Cape Byron Lighthouse. During the day the sky was clear, wind was low & conditions were looking perfect but as the evening neared this haze came across from the West. It was not ideal but the cloud was not thick enough to can the shoot so I went ahead with it. I drove up to Elements - Byron Bay,...
Pink Super Moon Rise

Watch in HD for best quality.... Last night I captured the rise of the largest Full Moon of 2020. This Super Moon is called "Pink Super Moon". It's known as the Pink Moon, as it's the first full moon of spring in the northern hemisphere. The name derives from a pink flower called phlox subulata that blooms in spring in North America. This super moon is about 10% closer and 20% bigger in area an...

Surfing with Dolphins #2 What a day in Byron Bay. I arrived at the beach early in the day & saw a few large pods of dolphins surfing through the lineup, splashing, smacking around, feeding & also just having a great time. Watching this take place you could really feel the joy that they were having & also the joy of all the surfers in the ocean with them. It was a special moment in time & I was ...

Tonight I captured a REAL TIME video of the Full Moon rise behind Byron Bay Lighthouse but this time the Moon is rising in the constellation of Sagittarius;) And I'm a Sagittarius! I thought that was pretty cool.. There was a lot of cloud looming out to the east & to be honest I didn't think that I had a hope of capturing anything but as the time got closer the weather did its thing & the moon...

Tonight I captured the Full Moon rise in Capricorn. With plenty of cloud looming around the sky I didn't know if I would even see the moon rise but, conditions prevailed & it was perfect. This time lapse is made up of 793 single images slowed down to get as close to real time as I could get it with out it becoming jumpy. I captured this image 4.9 kilometers from Cape Byron Lighthouse on Belongi...

"Surfing with Dolphins" ~ Tallow Beach, Byron Bay. Today I watched & filmed a large pod of dolphins surfing the waves with all the surfers & almost cutting them off the waves at Tallows Beach, Byron Bay. It was so magical to see them so calm & joyful in their own habitat with all the surfers around them. I filmed this clip from the Tallows lookout at the bottom carpark of Byron Lighthouse using...

This video is a "Real Time" video of the Full Moon rising behind Cape Byron Lighthouse, Byron Bay, Australia. Byron Bay is the most easterly point of the Australian Mainland & for us living here or travelling, we are the first to witness the moonrise in australia. It was a very warm evening with this heat wave that we are having & there was plenty of mist in the air making conditions a little t...

On the 31st of July I captured the rise of the Full Blue Moon in Aquarius. It was a beautiful sight to witness & lucky for me to capture in a time lapse. This video is made up of 1038 frames/images & slowed down as close to real time as I could make it. I have been working on perfecting this type of time lapse for over a year now after seeing the work of a favorite photographer of mine Mark Gee...

0:14 must be the wonderful times to these two surfers. They will cherish this in their old ages. Dolphins are the water-human and they are more human than us as the level of our humanness are fading fast within us. Dolphins will never leave their calf if they are unknowingly caught in a line and hook. They mother Dolphin will cry and encircle the calf till it is released from the hook.

I appreciate that the surfers respected the dolphin's space. Instead of approaching them to force a close encounter, the dolphins were welcomed to join in as they pleased. It seems they were very much pleased to do just that! 😄

That’s amazing! Based on how the dolphins, which definitely were aware at all times exactly where the people around them were, were literally leaping alongside the people, within a couple feet, and sometimes leading the surfers, also by a few feet, I’m completely sure those dolphins were considering themselves as surfing WITH the people, and not just that people just happened to b there also. they were not just participating in, but initiating a joint dolphin/human playtime! Absolutely incredible! U just don’t ever consider any animals as having an interest in interacting with other species, like humans do! We get such a kick out of positive interactions with animals, and they really do too, and it’s an incredible thought! I’m sure they were all excited to be “hanging out” with humans, and it made it a much better time for them than doing it without humans! What an amazing, and beautiful thing!

Im sure they get very bored out in the ocean, where while they do have their entertainment, they get bored after a while. Riding the waves with strange creatures like us are as exhilarating an experience for them as it is for us.

This is why i hate seeing dolphins, orcas or seals confined in pools at zoos or in aquariums. They should be out there in the oceans with their pods, swimming, playing and hunting. Yes we still need interaction with them to understand and to create bond with and love for them. But i think the only proper interaction with them should be through surfing like this or tour with certified whale watching operators.
