It's a good feeling to see that you are still on RUclips after all these years. I'm now 24 and used to watch you religiously throughout my teens and watching your art inspired me at that time. My passion for drawing has dwindled a little bit but I'm trying to get back into it slowly. Now I want to really focus on manga/cartoon/comic book styles of art because that is where I get a lot of my inspiration and interest from.
So related , So me wow ! I'm now 29 i got so much inspiration when i first start watching him , now i am looking up to him and i guess i will always be He is like a " Sensei " to me ! Thank You So Much !!
Wait, why am I the young one all of a sudden.. I’m 20, used to watch him religiously too and I was interested in becoming an artist. Now I’m studying computer science and barely have time to draw, but do it from time to time as a hobby. Wish you good luck in the path you’ve taken!
I haven’t seen a video of yours since high school but this takes me back. I used to watch your videos constantly when I was teaching myself (and learning from you) to draw. To think that you’re still making content and teaching us important art lessons is amazing.
Thank you Mark, great tutorial. I definitely prefer the younger portrait to the left. The proportions and spacing between the features just seem better somehow.
I'm glad you're still on RUclips. I've enjoyed watching your videos for the past seven years, and feel so inspired by this video. Thank you for inspiring me to improve my own drawing skills.
Have you ever thought of doing a video where you transform a house into a fantasy style structure? I always wonder, from your Brody Ghost series, whether you thought of those structures yourself or used a reference photo, but tweaked it to fit an image you had. 🤔
Make Batman and Catwoman's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Green Lantern and Star Sapphire's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Aquaman and Mera's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Superman and Lois Lane's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Nightwing and Batgirl's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Green Arrow and Black Canary's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Joker and Harley Quinn's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Constantine and Zatanna's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Beast Boy and Raven's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics Make Flash and Iris West's Relationship Canon in the DC Comics
The left one looks like a child version while the right one looks like a teenager version. I like to utilize those styles for age difference in my characters so I use both.🤔 However, I use the one on the right more often because I typically draw older characters.😁 I love the blushies, super glad you added them this time!
I feel like the head shape on the right is a little bit closer to a more '90s maybe '80s look, dragon Ball, one piece, yuyu, but then you would adjust the eyes and nose and make sure to give them a big mouth
We called the proportions of the left side portrait "Kindchenschema" meaning "scheme of childlike characteristics / baby schema " back at school. edit: I prefer characters with more realistic, respectively adult proportions like e.g. in the original Ghost In The Shell anime from Production I.G.
It's actually funny to think about, but eyes seem to be one of the bigger "signatures" of different manga artists, and it can be really interesting just to go through and see how different people draw their character eyes. I don't know if my style even counts as "manga" anymore, but for as much as everything else has changed, I still draw eyes almost identically to how I did 6 years ago.
Mr. Crilley: I was saddened to learn of the passing of Raymond Briggs. I remember you drawing his Father Christmas--his passing is a huge loss. I'm very sorry.
Just wanted to say your How to Draw Comics/Manga playlist is super helpful for me right now. I got a request from a friend to be the artist for her manga so I remembered your playlist and went back to it. Thank you so much for your great advice!☺️💕
Mark, I need your help. I'm requesting a tutorial topic. I'm trying to figure out how the light will hit on a face if the person has glowing eyes. Real life humans don't have glowing eyes, so finding a point of reference for this has been difficult. Got any tips?
I do think the left one looks younger! I like both styles. But sometimes a less younger look is nice to draw. I also feel like we don’t often see you turning your page as you darken your lines! It was fun during the time lapse. Thanks for an enjoyable video

I've been watching since 4th grade and am now in my sophomore year of college. It's been a journey and your tutorials have shaped my art.

He kind of did that in a video called "The Mushroom House."
@@chubbycatfish4573 oh yeah, I forgot about that one....thanks 🙂

I will get the latest book soon on my birthday, I am still working on my own comics.

I owe this man everything for giving me the motivation to keep drawing when I was twelve.
