yaaaaaaas girl!can you do a hip video? Its a constant struggle for us tightly closed hipsters ;)and maybe some how tos on the glam elements like illusion kicks, fan kicks,y spirals, etc.?You are amazing thank you :)
I'd love a video on strengthening your hips! :) Also a video on more "advanced" basics like forward and backward crossovers, mohawks and 3-turns would be amazing!!
Because all those things that you’ve listed are extreme basics? You should learn your 3 turns, edges and crossover before even attempting a waltz (3 jump) let alone a salchow
I had a problem with cheated double sals and poor air position but your tip of thinking of it as an axel actually helped me a lot with both of those things! It helped me with my timing as well so thank you so much for this!
HI KATIE!!! Just here to tell you that this video was AMAZING as usual! This really helped because I'm currently doing singles, and trying out doubles. Thank you SO MUCH for this! You're amazing!😘😋
Hiii Katie, Could you do a video on how to stay over your landing side when landing jumps. this has been my problem when doing my axel and double sals. btw, I love watching your videos!
I can do all the standard entrances (the ones in the video) but sometimes I'll do backwards crossovers, hold the inside edge and then jump when I feel like it's normal. Instead of doing any turns as a setup this lets you gain a lot of speed and not waste any of it.
Thanks for your video. Can you please show some more of it being done from a backwards outside right edge into a left three turn. The mowhawk into it is confusing. A lot of videos I’ve seen is to swing your free leg around where as I’ve been taught to gently slice your right leg past your left three turn then whip it around. I can’t find many videos of single sals. I’m on to lutz jumps however I’m being told to go over previous jumps to make them cleaner. Many thanks
I Katie, really appreciated your slow motions video. I'm able to focus on one tip a t the time, that make me a better skater. I am getting better with your advices. I am working on Axel but need your help. Keep doing good work for all of us who Love Figure Skating. Thank You again!! Lise 🌺🎼⛸🦋
I really love watching your videos ♡ i want to start figure skating for some time now, but since i live in tropical climate, my mom doesn't allow me to start (she says that there's no point to it). And I didn't skate for a long time (took classes when i was younger). so watching you is so awesome!♡
i don't know, i got new skates like 3 months ago and everything else is great, i have jackson competitors, i can do like 2 or 3 revs and then my hip just gives out or something
1) Put ALL your weight on the spinning leg to not getting unbalanced. 2) And do a REAL 3turn for the entry (not with flat outside edge, weak arms or others mistakes). AND your spin will be centered.
I’ve tried a rocker into salchow entry just for fun. It’s very difficult to hold, but when you get it, the jump has huge momentum and height due to the whiplash effect of the rocker.
Hi Katie! I've been having troubles on landing my double loop or doing the axel because I can't jump really high and I always ask my coach how to jump higher but I wanted to know some advices from you! Can you do a video on how to jump higher or just give me advices, please? You've been helping me a lot with ice skating
Thank you!!!! I will definitely be using this for my double sal!! I keep landing on two feet and I don't stand up on my landing, I do get the rotations though.
Yaass I was waiting for this video ! :D I can finally try jumping salchows now ^^ And I'd really appreciate if you posted a video on hip strenghtening ! :)
Please try and get a coach. Also everybody jumps differently some to the right and others to the left. Don't risk wrong technique. you should have strong checking before doing sals.
I'm going to go on holidays this summer, in a country that has a much more opportunities for people who want to learn figure skating and I'm going to take a coach :) Until then I'll reinforce my basics, spins and edgework
Ah, thank you so much for this! I can never find videos with jumps like this. Either it's from the wrong angle or it's cut off or they only do it once and I have to keep going back.
Hi I’ve been skating for 2 years and only just started learning salchow. I’m struggling to go from the 3 turn straight into the pivot do you have any tips. Thank you x
I waited so long for this video! I can't do this jump really well, so it helped me a lot :) (I'm italian, so sorry if I made some errors while typing this)
Your video is helpful 👍👍👍 ( Am just stuck for 4 months now on my double salchow because I'm always missing between 1/4 of rotation or less than it and have to work on keeping my body position )
Can you make a video about tips on the half flip and tips to jump higher?? Also can you do a video on backwards edges and tips? my coach is testing me for freestyle/skate one. like if you agree
I have very stiff inner thighs I also personally think they are pretty weak too. I would love a thigh workout video thank you 💖 this is a very easy basic spin but my scratch is so ugly I really would love improvement there🙃
Sofie Reacts yeah you never know if she's just learning, just because you are more advance doesn't mean you be like "oh that's so easy". It took me a month to get it by my self
i just landed this jump multiple times last month, but its pretty inconcsistent. xD but this video definitely helped me land it a little more often :) tysm!
Hey Katie I'm a figure skater from Sweden and I have a problem in my double salchow don't know how to cross my legs in the air I. I have been able to do my 2s in 2 or 3 years whit out any problems. pleas can you help me💗 I really love to watch your RUclips clips 💗💗
CanisLupus1987 If the take off skate glides backward then briefly stops and pivots before getting into the air it is a Salchow, but if the skate three turns and there is a forward glide before the jump, then it is an axel with a three turn set up (which is becoming more common now days with the new scoring system).
omg Katie sos my parents are making me quit figure skating but I have fallen in love and according to my coaches I have a talent and I have never had more fun than this year... Im not ready to leave my ice skates on the shelf!!!!!!!):
Hey Katie! I notice that in your takeoffs, it looks like you are touching your right foot down on the ice as you come around-- are you? And if so, why is that? When I do my sal, after the three turn, I bring my right leg around and up into the h position without the blade touching the ice. What is the correct way?
I keep trying to depend on my shoulders instead of my knees so I don’t get much height. I actually landed my first Salchow today with good height (mainly because I wasn’t thinking about it 😩). I want to be able to do that consistently
What I don't comprehend is that in some jumps u have to alternate your feet. I'm only in basic two but I'm very confused wether or not you should alternate my feet. The only thing I'm worried about when it comes to alternating my feet is that my left leg is still very weak from a hip surgery I had to go through last summer. So I'm a little nervous about alternating my feet. I jump and land on my right leg which is the strong leg. I've seen other skaters do the same thing. So does it really matter wether you alternate your feet during jumps or not? I'm just really confused about that. Can some one please help me understand that? I'd really deeply appreciate that. Thank you.
I keep having my non-landing foot go on the side instead of in front like a back spin, it goes on the side like with my foot next to my knee, and it does this for my axel and my dounle salchow (still havent done a double toe yet or any other doubles). Now my axel is very consistant and completely rotated but my double salchow is pretty recent and not very consistent because sometimes its under rotated. Now how can i get my foot/leg in place. I find it really annoying because whenever i try i never land it or completely rotate it and thats for my axel and double salchow, please help
How did you find your transition into edea for the first time? Was it weird? I've been in a traditional boot and worry a bit about the loseness around the leg and perhaps not adjusting or getting use to the edea.
I keep landing my double sal but instead of kicking my leg back on the landing I'm sitting down 🙃 also after doing a few I hit a wall where I can't do anymore, it's so frustrating!
Can you do a video on improving laybacks, and doing side laybacks, haircutters, and biellmenns
Can you post vlogs from your figureskating training ⛸💕
Julia Schmitt uuu yes that would be amazing
yaaaaaaas girl!can you do a hip video? Its a constant struggle for us tightly closed hipsters ;)and maybe some how tos on the glam elements like illusion kicks, fan kicks,y spirals, etc.?You are amazing thank you :)
You still want to learn those Elements? BonBonSkating has tutorials for it! :)
I'd love a video on strengthening your hips! :)
Also a video on more "advanced" basics like forward and backward crossovers, mohawks and 3-turns would be amazing!!
I hate 3 turns so much
ser_rakla05 __ well then why are you watching this video salchows are a foward outside three turn into a waltz jump😂
Because all those things that you’ve listed are extreme basics? You should learn your 3 turns, edges and crossover before even attempting a waltz (3 jump) let alone a salchow
Can you please do a video about scratch spin? That would help me out so much!

Hiii Katie,
Could you do a video on how to stay over your landing side when landing jumps. this has been my problem when doing my axel and double sals.
btw, I love watching your videos!
Book Keeper did you land it yet?

I really love watching your videos ♡
i want to start figure skating for some time now, but since i live in tropical climate, my mom doesn't allow me to start (she says that there's no point to it). And I didn't skate for a long time (took classes when i was younger).
so watching you is so awesome!♡
I would love to see a video for hip strengthening and also flexibility tips.
Spins! i-ve been struggling a lot with centering my spins, i cannot keep my hips and upper body straight and i dont know what to do¡
Ilse Jimenez I'm the same. Going into it is fine it's just keeping it centred
Same
i don't know, i got new skates like 3 months ago and everything else is great, i have jackson competitors, i can do like 2 or 3 revs and then my hip just gives out or something
Ilse Jimenez it might be your blades
1) Put ALL your weight on the spinning leg to not getting unbalanced. 2) And do a REAL 3turn for the entry (not with flat outside edge, weak arms or others mistakes).
AND your spin will be centered.
yessss a hip exercise pleaseeee
I’ve tried a rocker into salchow entry just for fun. It’s very difficult to hold, but when you get it, the jump has huge momentum and height due to the whiplash effect of the rocker.

Yaass I was waiting for this video ! :D I can finally try jumping salchows now ^^ And I'd really appreciate if you posted a video on hip strenghtening ! :)
why couldn't you do sals before
I'm self taugh , I don't want risking jumping in the wrong way and hurting myself if I'm not informed enough about what I'm attempting.

Hey Katie I think you could make a video on How to differentiate Salchows from Axels. It's so Hard to Spot and diferntiate
CanisLupus1987 If the take off skate glides backward then briefly stops and pivots before getting into the air it is a Salchow, but if the skate three turns and there is a forward glide before the jump, then it is an axel with a three turn set up (which is becoming more common now days with the new scoring system).

your way i believe go with what your coach says

just landed this today! thanks for the tips :)
Is your free leg kinda pivoting into the jump? I’ve seen people do it without the free leg touching the ice. What is the difference between the two?
Epilepsic light flashes xD
Just what I needed!

Any tips on how to transition faster?
I keep landing my double sal but instead of kicking my leg back on the landing I'm sitting down 🙃 also after doing a few I hit a wall where I can't do anymore, it's so frustrating!
Yay I've been needing this
