Lots of figure 8 crossovers on the circle forwards and backwards. Stroke 1 lap around the rink. Edges around a circle forward and back ward, on foot glides. Stretch on the boards. 3 turns holding onto the boards. Forward to backwards two foot turns
I do the same things for warm-up that she does and I am by no means advanced (just been skating for 2 years) so I'd say this is a pretty universal routine (save for the twizzles and rockers maybe)
i'm not very advanced, here's my usual warmup: 1. lap of stroking around the rink 2. Russian stroking 3. Backward russian stroking 4. outside 3 turn, backward crossover, step forward and repeat on the other side 5. inside 3 turn, forward crossover, step forward and repeat sofabar has some great beginner warmups :)
How to warm up on ice for beginners Number one start off with a flip like an actual flip next do a triple Axel you know nice and easy after that you're going to want to do three backflips in a row and there you go you're all warmed up
Katie you inspire me to do figure skating so I am starting classes on October, thank you and can u make a stretching routine warm up for figure skating ⛸!!! ❤️
Hi Katie, Thank You 🙏 for all your video that you make to help and encourage us to become better skaters. How long is your warm up? L❤️ve your video‼️ 👍
I'm new to your channel, I can't tell you how helpful it's been. I hope you have plans for more in 2018. When I started really trying to learn how to skate, I didn't have any resources accept my VHS tapes of figure skaters and books from the library. My parents didn't have the money for me to take lessons, so I paid for them myself in high school and saved all my money from my Target job to buy my SP Teri Super Teri Deluxe, the same skates I have today. For many years I didn't have the time or even a rink to continue skating. I have some time now and a rink and hour away. I'm happy to say I still remember everything I taught myself. And your videos are helping me clean up my form and technique. Thank you so much!
Can you plz do a beginner-moderate trick video 😁 I don’t take classes but have recently convinced my mum to take me skating for the first time in a year🥳
Hey Katie! Can you make a video of what you do on your competition warmups? It would be cool to see what your essentials are for a quick 5-minute warmup session!
Looking at you on ice looks so smoothhhhhh but when I skate I don't look as smooth as u and I keep tripping over the ice but I never fell plus the ice is not as smooth cos people were making scratches
Could you make a video series for the moves in the field tests? It really helps me with that when I can see how they are supposed to look and then I learn them correctly the first time.
I was with you til you got to the rockers!! Lol, but I've passed most of the moves before that and they are still really helpful to warm-up and work on strengthening edges. I'm also working on brackets right now and they're really hard! Could you do a video on those? :)
Super jealous of the lack of people on the ice (although I also imagine it's super early in the day?). Also you have a Subway in your rink!!! It's interesting to hear the American terms for some of the moves too, here in the UK the first thing you did we call lemons, the perimeter crosses we call Russian Crosses, cross strokes are cross rolls here, and the edge pulls we call one foot slaloms :p
hi pretty katie,is there an exercise we can do to improve our back swizzes? i ve already passed in this level but i still csn´t continued this moviment
Hi Katie, L❤️ve your warm up on ice. It great 👍 so many footworks. In the future it will great if you could do this kind of warm up but in the slow motion. Thank You 😊 Really appreciated‼️ ⛸
I am so happy that I found your video. Although I skate only 1 years I do try to do whatever I can in regards of warm up for my level. There are lots of things I found really useful in your video and even some new drills I'll try... not sure if I will even be able to do it yet, but I'll try. I just posted new video beginner friendly and I linked yours (advanced level) to it... here is the video - ruclips.net/video/8PsiKlwmQQg/видео.html .... how many more years do I need to do this to look at least a bit like you on ice... :):):):) keeping up the great work and yes please do videos... I would be very interested in some easy footwork, perhaps connecting 3 or 4 moves together as I cannot find them on youtube anywhere...
I wish my ice could be that empty... a real dream of having the whole rink to myself
Yeah, also, she would have either hired private ice or got on the ice at the start of the practice session.
Ikr
euna be lucky you get to ice skate
euna Maybe a friend works there? My dad works at my ice rink and during in night time he'll let me go onto the ice because legit no one is there.

I would love to see a warmup routine for a less advanced skater.
YEEESSSSSS
