  • In this video, Pete Thorn shows how a simple effects chain used within a preset in the Helix amp and effects processor can enhance the sound of any acoustic guitar with an undersaddle pickup.
    HELIX
Helix Floor is the flagship amp and effects processor from Line 6. Helix Floor leverages dual-SHARC processing and HX Modeling to deliver the authentic sound and feel of vintage and modern amps, cabinets, microphones, and effects. Meanwhile, that same processing power lets you create countless tones that simply don’t exist in the analog world. The Helix Floor amp and effects processor also boasts the most intuitive and player-friendly user interface on the market. It includes a full-color LCD screen, ergonomically arranged controls, capacitive-touch footswitches, customizable scribble strips, and an onboard expression pedal. Four independent internal signal paths and extensive analog and digital I/O combine to provide nearly limitless signal-routing flexibility. The Helix Floor processor can also integrate external hardware devices, becoming the master controller for your entire rig, and third-party impulse responses (IRs) can be loaded to further personalize your sound. Plus, Helix Floor presets are compatible with all other Helix family devices-including the Helix Native plugin.

You have crossed over to the worship side of things. This is going to be huge in that field.

Fantastic how that changed the tone! I totally didn't even have acoustic guitar IR's on my radar Pete, killer! I just downloaded the demo IR pack and will likely purchase one or more of the others.

... this isgreat ... I spend quite some time during the last years with recording acoustic guitar für my solo projects ... but I've never heard of this idea with ir-responses für acoustics so far ... great solution for a live amplification as well ... :)

I do something similar with Two Notes Torpedo Cab M+ using "Martin acoustic mic'd with Neuman mic" IR. Acoustic guitar plugged into Cab M+ input
EQ and Room are big parts of the equation

I use my HX Stomp on a Nylon String guitar with a Piezo disk pickup stuck to the underside of the soundboard. I EQ the presence and treble frequencies way back, and use the Jazz Rivet with the 57 mic. I'm surprised at how good it sounds, and prefer it to using a real mic.
One tip about using this type of Piezo pickup: Avoid gluing or sticking it too securely to the soundboard, as the more tightly it is affixed, the brighter, thinner, and quackier it will sound.
