Thank you for the walk thru. I just got as a gift the Sirui NWS 35 MM with the anamorphic adapter for my Sony a7iii and Sony a6100. I’m honestly new to video and photography so I’m excited to see what I can create with this setup. I’m def subscribing, and I appreciate the help. Thanks again and good luck to u
i watched all your videos and liked them thank you very much for the review you did exactly the setup I was wondering about and I have a few questions for you I have an x-s20 and I plan to shoot short films and I shoot alone. I am new to this and I want to improve myself in manual focus. I am seriously undecided between siriu nightwalker and siriu sniper because the sniper series has autofocus. Since I shoot alone, autofocus sometimes works. I plan to buy it with an anamorphic adapter. However, there are some parts that I am curious about 1. Is the ring on the anamorphic adapter the focus ring? If it is a focus ring, will the focus ring of the lens be completely invalid and we have to do the focus operation from the adapter? 2. Is the focus ring of the anamorphic adapter the same as cine lenses? I want to attach a follow focus, can I attach it directly to the adapter? 3. Does autofocus get disabled when we use an anamorphic adapter? If not, if I buy a siriu sniper + adapter instead of a siriu nightwalker + adapter, will it make more sense to have a focus ring (on the anamorphic adapter) where I can attach both auto focus and follow focus? Thanks in advance for your answer.
Aveti idee cum se comporta lentilele anamorphice pe X-H2? Vazusem ca lentilele functioneaza foarte bine cu X-H2s pentru ca are si formatul video de 3:2 ceea ce H2 nu are. Ati testat pana acum? Multumesc!
Thanks for the video 😁👍👍 I resisted the temptation of grabbing the night walker series during crowd funding, I'm going to wait and see what other focal lengths Sirui brings to the night walker line, if they add variety I'll consider grabbing a few lenses. Right now that comes on the top of my head only Laowa and Meike have an extended cine lens line, but definitely not at the same price point or low light capability. But I gotta give it to Sirui that this lens line really looks good esthetically. They make fuji cameras pop even more than fujinon lenses do to an external beauty perspective.
@@AndreiDimaReviews the adapter or now 200 USD off in B&H. That's why I searched for this video. But the beatifull horizontal blue lance flare you get white the anaforfhic lenses are no where to be found whit the adapter. No flares, no anamorphic, just black bars U.u"
"work" yes, but it would turn your AF lens into manual lens since you must set your lens focus to infinity for this to work. Adapters are generally good entry points to niches, but unlikely to satisfy your needs the more you deep yourself into the niche. I don't personally recall of any AF anamorphic lens available in the market for any particular mount. As a single shooter, as long as you're aren't filming yourself, it should be just fine so long as you're ok with manually focusing using the adapter's focus ring 😎👍
The footage you recorded doesn't look anamorphic at all sadly. I believe it's better to buy 1.33x sirui lens instead of this adapter, it's cheaper yeah but I find more cons than pros for using it as an real alternative
While it may not be the best solution, this adapter still brings some anamorphic characteristics and advantages. Saying it lacks any benefits at all is an exaggeration.
U have to consider , that a 1.25x x 4k DCI give you after debayer a true 4k resolution while every camera after debayer record actually less. Except for downscale in camera. So for me its a nice addon on my bmpccc4k, also u can use it or not and have spherical lenses, if u buy 1.33x u are forced to film anamorphic all the time.
Just can't see the attraction for the so called anamorphic look. Especially when the lens flare element is taken out of the equation. It seems like a whole load of hassle for not that much in return. Just my humble opinion. I know many love them but I can't see what people are talking about. I hear what they say but can't actually see it. Sometimes I wonder, can they? Is it just bragging rights??
Thanks for sharing! Your shots brought me back to 2008, when I was living in Valencia (during 'La Crisis')
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for the review. Looks very soft, night walkers without the adapter render so much better.
You're welcome!
Some really beautiful images Andrei! Where was the sweet spot, in T-Stops, when using the Nightwalker's with the adapter? F2? F2.8?
Thank you, Mark! On the Sirui Nightwalker 24mm and the 35mm, the sweet spot is at T2. On the 55mm, it is T2.8.
@@AndreiDimaReviews Thanks! That's super helpful. Keep up the good work, really enjoying your recent videos.
@markwiemels thank you, I am glad you like them! You have a nice channel, great quality content, keep it up!

I think using it with the DCI 17:9 should give you a wider shot than 16:9 and slightly more resolution.
True.
Great video, Andrei!
Thank you!
So interesting lens and anamorphic is for me the next level 😊

In mare parte am folosit 4K DCI, poți sa folosești liniștit lentile anamorphice pe X-H2.
Great video, Andrei! Really thorough review, plus love the footage you captured 👏
Thank you!
I heard that there is a minimum focal length of lens that the adapter works with. Would it work with the upcoming sirui 16mm nightwalker?
You get vignetting on the 16mm.
Thanks!
4:17 did you use a helios with that adapter?
I used the Vivitar 28mm f2.5.

They’re adding a wider & tighter focal length
@@JaymesMedia that will be very nice 😎 👍
@@williamaungleyraud I just purchased the adapter. Right now B&h has it as $399 for one more day
@@JaymesMedia that sounds great! Thx, Myron!
Ai probat adaptorul pe 18 55 mm fujinon? Merge montat pe acest obiectiv dar eram curios pe focala de 18mm cum iese imaginea.
Salut, nu l-am testa pe 18-55mm.

I recently got the 24mm with the anamorphic adapter but I'm noticing really bad distortion with the adapter, do you have any tip on how to reduce it?
FLARESSSSSSS
Can you be more specific.

Will this work with autofocus lenses (for us single person no focus puller shooters)??

This works with autofocus lenses if you manually focus, the autofocus will not work properly with the adapter on.
