Can ANY Boss Survive Pre Patch Radahn? - Elden Ring
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 июн 2024
- In this elden ring video I'm testing whether any of the strongest bosses in elden ring can survive Pre Patch General Radahn.
As I'm sure you guys know Radahn was way stronger when the game came out, so I thought why not restore his former stats and test how well he does against the other bosses. Compared to now, back then he caused way more poise breaks and had bigger hitboxes and many other strenghts. Hopefully we'll get to fight a prime version of Radahn in the shadow of the erdtree DLC

I can't believe that the legendary battle between Radahn and Malenia was canonically him stunlocking her to oblivion until she got pissed and bloomed all over the place.

The elden beast trying to fly away only for radahn to pull it back down was crazy.
That was so cool

Bro I'm bout to bust out radahns swords an try now😂😂😂😂
Gravity Magic for the win
Pretty sure the beast was poise broken by the small orbs and then switched to his poise break animation which is on ground
The damage that the Radahn space program move does is insane. If it weren't for that move, we'd have several more losses for Radahn
Radahn space program! LMAO Nice.
The poor AI have no idea how to dodge. 😂
@@takeyourheart3030in Radahns defense, very few could dodge a meteor (maybe astel 🤔 )
Exactly. radagon and the godskin duo would've easily won
And Godfrey and possibly the Elden Beast
Mohg using his phase transition, thinking he's won, and turning around only to get hit dead on by a flaming meteor was some great cinematogrophy 10/10
tbh Mohg beats Radahn face to face
even then he tanked it and almost dropped radahn
@@2174863 he survived it bc I think that that meteor died mainly fire damage and mohg has more fire resistance than the fire giant
These videos proving that the dodge roll is the strongest ability in Elden Ring
It has been in every souls game ever
It always was, the fact that you can literally get immortal during the dodge animation is just broken
Don't forget the shield poke
actually that would be the dodge roll that also takes a percentage of their health #justmalikeththings
This is why many souls people have trouble with Selkiro and a much easier game in general Wulong. Nioh in term of difficulty is always higher unless you farm for gears and make good build. Ng+5 in Nioh is ridiculous using a normie build. You ate like 5 different detrimental debuffs just blocking a hit in a fight against a duo or a trio bosses so if you have no good build it’s hell mode incarnate.
The fact that Rick started against Radahn in the ranged mode proves us that he is the Elden GOAT.

I like how Astel has the perfect teleport ability to skip his archery sequence, but the first time Astel uses it is to move less then a few centimeter forward.
At least the second attempt was less embarrassing.
Cecil's teleporter moment
can we just acknowledge that in the Gideon fight when radahn became a meteor Gideon just looked up and said "ah"
"Ah, I knew you'd-"
I find it really cool that Astel won the first fight, like some sort of revenge that finally came from the stars who were held back for so long by radhan, only for him to turn around immediately in the second fight as to say "wtf is this shit why am I so far"
The fact that Maliketh was staggering with every single hit and yet he won both battles within seconds, tells why he was feared. Also that roar at the end was amazing.

The ending for Malenia is Amazing and Fitting Hype
i agreed with your ending statement it felt just right and lore fitting
Wow Radahn’s arrows were ridiculously busted back then
Ikr
tbf he would only use them at the start of the fight, so there were really no need to nerf them as they were ridiculously easy to dodge
i think it shouldn't have gotten the nerf, having literal pillars launched at you should realistically do huge damage
What traversing Anor Londo for the first time felt like
Yes....yes they were
Placidusax: Disappears and reappears in the sky to surprise-attack him.
Radahn at 23:52: *I can do that too.*
Placi after that: Let the lord show thee how to ambush again..
*23:41
I cant help but notice that Radahn almost lost to some of the higher bises and only win because of his one-shot meteor attack, which the boses didn't even try to dodge and defend again.
That attack has little to do with his poise. It would be interesting to see how he would fare if one shot attacks were disabled
It wouldn't be interesting to see. He would lose. His HP and damage are way too low compared to late game bosses.
Then Rick wouldn’t be in the game
He would lose to every lategame boss then
His problem is that he is a glass cannon.
And only a mid game boss
Duuude those Mogh duels were real nailbiters. The way Radahn got away from that first Nihil - I didn't even notice until he came crashing down! Fucking epic! Also those satisfying hit noises whenever Astel got knocked. Unf.
Something I've noticed from all the boss battles I've watched is that Placidusax is surprisingly good at pulling unexpected wins.
Absolutely
He wasn’t the first lord for nothing
Gideon performed unexpectedly well
Would have won if he didn't keep using his worst spells 😂
Gideon the all-knowing-seeing heavenly God, please someone make a mod where he is just insanely OP I love Gideon bro he basically plays like someone in PVP but a bit dumber spell-casting-wise if they buffed him and had him use really strong spells that would be cool.
I thought the exact same
The End absolut awesome bro!
The imagine of Malenia in her second phase in front of the burning erdtree is so awesome
Loved seeing Rick facetank Radhan’s arrow barrage like it was nothing
I love how Godrick starts in the second phase, so he can at least deal some damage before the inevitable.
He did a pretty good job to be honest
The ending kinda mirrors the lore of Melania vs Radhan. Loved it keep up the good work!
I loved the beginning where morgott just turned around looking at you like "are you serious?"
It’s crazy to think this is Radahn as just a husk.
The dude would be insane at his peak.
Quite ironic, isn't it? ;)
Not just a husk of his former self, he's also *still holding all of the stars in place while doing this entire fight*
Radahn at his strongest could've single-handedly ripped the Erdtree out of the ground and used it as a weapon
@@tundralwhisper7345two main co7nter points. We dont know how much weaker radahn is.
Second there is nothing to indicate that homding the stars back is physically draining.
@@joemoe650I mean he lost his mind to the rot and is still able to hold them back.
Whether by force of will or by his insane mastery over gravity magic we'll never know for certain but we do however know that in his prime he was MUCH stronger and there's plenty of text evidence within the game that tells us as much.
It was excessive. Go watch the ign review when you hear the guy talk about how hard it was. It was the hardest boss I think of any souls game or sekiro. Maybe equal to demon of hatred but he’s not bad once you learn his counters.
Match 2 with Placidusax was pretty funny. Placi was actually outpacing Radahn's ranged damage, so he decided to change tactics and go fight close range.
Fuck it swing or get swung
So nice seeing mohg win upclose and close fight far away. Hes my personal favorite boss
The cutcscene of malenia blooming in caelid is so fucking cinematic. Beautiful.
Beating pre patch radahn took years off my life. He feels so easy now, like he’s got pillows for swords
I didn't have that many issues with him, honestly. Much smoother of a ride than that damned Apostle in Caelid tower...
@@paweuszcz4856 That apostle is probably the true radahn tbh. That thing was ridiculous
Not much problem with pre patch Radahn, I did not find a way to fight him first until I was like level 90 or so and he was not much of a challenge by then. I didn’t even know who was gonna be there. I fought on and off horse and use the horse to dodge his long winding attack, when he leaped up into the sky I know some stupid shit gonna happen and got on my horse and ran. I specifically avoided watching anything about the game and even then when you fought smart he wasn’t much at higher level. I had a shield so when I felt like my timing wasn’t good I just block the arrow shot and continue to get close lol. I didn’t even bother learning to dodge his gravity arrow. 😂
Malenia broke me. I spent around 5 hours on her and I said fuck that then look for a way to beat her then I got her in an hour or so.

Dude was actually cracked.
Placi vs radahn looks like the battle was animated for eachother. Amazing
That single shot of Malenia unveiling her final form against the backdrop of the burning Erdtree is legitimately horrifying.
Imagine she learned who took her brother and went on a rampage across the Lands Between to get him back. She'd be unstoppable.
And then she immediately one shots Radahn after the cutscene. Absolutely perfect.
The true tragedy of Radahn is his placement as a relatively early-game boss. I feel like Fromsoft underestimated how early players were going to face off against him and as a result made him this powerful initially.
More like they forgot they put him as a lock to the Eternal Cities and had to nerf him since they overtuned him at first.
Caelid is a very confusing area. You can access it pretty much from the get go but everything is strong or incredibly strong. If this was a standard dark souls game, no open world, then caelid would've definitely been like an archdragon peak type of area.
@@genesisosunadid not have problems in caelid after 30 levels, what i did have problem is dragonbarrow, dogs or enemies in general got too much hp but hit like a truck, they did not balance late game at all,in ds3 with 30 vigor i can tank that five combo of soul of cinder but with 30 in elden ring you get oneshoted by any basic enemy from capital its so stupid, also fuck royal revenants
I think it was intentional kind of half hemorrally on because I think it was intentional from the get-go that he was going be a boss at his prime in a DLC. I'm telling you right now we're going to get a prime rhadan in the DLC
Caelid bosses give more runes than atlus plateu and are harder so idk where youre getting this idea that hes an early game boss
These are amazing cinematically battles.
Especially Rykard
Watching Laser Golem fall straight on his face over and over was the icing on the cake for me 😂😂😂
Placing Rennala in melee range was a death sentence. Also, Maliketh once again showing why the likes of Radahn and Malenia at full power were scared of him.
Edit - The bit a 4:41 was hilarious. Radahn saw Gideon about to bloom and was like "Aw HELL no, that ain't happening again"
Edit 2 - 19:03 Bro really said "GET OVER HERE!"
Honestly, putting her at melee was more of a benefit than a detriment because if she was at range then Radahn would have just used his Aldritch-style arrow rain and killed her with one volley of it.
Indeed,. I always find Maliketh one of the hardest fights.
I have no trouble bullying Malenia and Radahn, but Maliketh always puts me on edge and I fight him cautiously
Rennala is annoyingly bad. Slower casts than ANYONE else's yet still weak af, questionable intelligence, and no self preservation instinct.
@@glatykoffi6672 in the lore the Renala boss is just an illusion magic cast by Ranni. It makes sense that she is stupid. Also the real Renala didn’t bother fighting you at all.
It's weird how different the experience of fighting different foes is for many players. I had no problems with Radahn (except the few times I didn't know the dodge timing for his instant kill meteor attack), Maliketh was so-so, but Malenia absolutely destroyed me. Damn dude, Radahn vs Maliketh is cinematic as fuck! Beast Clergyman just gets bullied, but once he truly lets the beast out that destined death just burns Radahn away like nothing.
Its to bad the AI is a bit derpy sometimes. Id like to see some of these fights more accurate to how they would actually play out. Almost every boss just sits and does nothing when Radahn does his meteor attack. That fire damage absolutely violated Radagon and Malenia lmfao! If they would actually dodge that, or if Morgott would have dodged the arrows, we would see very different fights. Still an awesome video!
Placidusax and Radahn trading blows with the swoop attacks was one of the most badass things I've seen in these videos.
I love that the dragon was beating him at long range so he tries to close the distance.
Morgott vs Rahdan broke my heart. 😢😢😢
Exactly, no close up attempt. And godrick gets second phase! But not morgott
He was a nightmare pre patch. Did eventually beat him but I had help and died a countless number of times. That version of him was a boss that felt like a chore and didn't offer any sense of reward afterwards.
The funny thing is, it's pretty easy to see here why From thought release Radahn was fine; in the grand scheme of ER bosses, he really does *not* have that much health, and if you've been thorough in exploration in Liurnia and Caelid in particular (and maybe if you took The Secret Way to explore Altus a bit), by the time you actually reach him, you'll have any number of ways of pumping hundreds of damage a second into him consistently, especially with so many buddies available. It's just that his hitboxes were so obnoxious, and his counterattacks did so much damage, that screwing up at all felt oppressively infuriating. I can understand why he got adjusted (and, overall, the game is probably a little better for it) but this really demonstrates why he launched in the state he did and why plenty of folks were still able to get by him without trouble.
Neat video!
I was super happy to have beaten him before the patch and I had not idea he was nerfed till nearly the end of my first playthrough 😂

Bruh. He's the same strength now as he was at launch. People need to stop this misinformation
Read the patchnotes 1.03 he was nerfed by mistake and fromsoft patched it back so Radahn is since 1.03 the same as he was on release
@@jayyajObjectively wrong. His poise damage is lower, his weapon hitboxes are so small you can literally just hug the legs and be safe, his aggression has been toned down massively as he just kinda stands around now whereas he used to be relentless, and all of his attacks did way more damage. The overhead slams dealt about three times more damage. The meteors (the ones he summons and throws) were capable of one shotting at 40 vigor while the current ones can be survived at 25 vigor. I have Elden Ring on disk. I've tested it extensively. This video speaks for itself. Gideon can beat current Radahn quite easily. He usually has about 40-60% health remaining afterwards too. It would be amazing if the DLC allowed us to time-travel right into the Shattering, when most bosses and armies are at their fullest power.
Let's hope
Luckily the base game have already gave us prime malenia and maybe maliketh and a Godfrey who seems far from his lowest point 👍
As much as I would like this, isshin is the only example (I can think of) of us fighting someone in their prime in a Miyazaki fromsoft game, so we probably will not.
@@dallaspark9100we already fought malenia in her prime, especially when she turned into the goddess of rot
dudeman7826. True. I forgot about the goddess of rot form.
Yes! A W for my boy Maliketh! I wish he had more health, because his bossfight is so cool, yet so short once you've got your winning run.
