Fun fact, if you die at the same time as phase 2 Malenia, her death animation is so long that you die before the victory flag becomes active. This means you have to fight her again. I know this because it happened to me.

Watching these boss vs boss videos really puts into perspective how insane your character is to be able to defeat these enemies and how much of a battle it really is.
Yes, especially since every boss feels different for each player. For example - malenia was much easier for me than godfrey. Yet she destroyed both his phases.
@@paumartisa I discovered parries very early in the game and loved them so much I was using them all the time. By the time I got to malenia I mastered the art of parry and absolutely destroyed her. Godfrey on the other hand is unparryable. Also the steering wheel joke was amazing, thank you.

I think that's mostly because Gideon has much less HP for her to absorb, so her bs healing ability isn't as effective when fighting him compared to when she's fighting bosses with more meat on their bones, like Radahn, who she gets chunks of HP from after every hit.

that second phase just represents “deadline crunch” so well. she gets destroyed in the first phase and then melts 3 stronger opponents in seconds in phase 2 miyazaki “some players may beat this, can we give her a nuke”
I does the same relative damage to every enemy in the game its %max hp damage if I'm not mistaken, so it always takes the same chunks off bosses, relative to their total jp
I made a corrupt Omen Killer build that uses bloodflame and blackflame depending on the situation with the Old Lord's talisman to boost its time on the weapon to about 11-12 seconds. You can cast it while running which makes up for the low time it's applied. I pair it with wild strikes on the Omen Killer Cleaver which absolutely shreds bosses away. For bosses that move around a lot I only bust it out sparingly and usually switch to bloodflame, especially if they can bleed.
It seemed pretty clear to me from the title alone that most would die of rot at the start of phase 2, if they make it that far, since none of the AI is programmed to get away from the flower

Well to be honest. That wasn’t 3 godskin duos. That was 3 godskin nobles. Malenia would probably die to 2 godskin duos due to how much health they have combined with their chemistry

@@Lepoetism i think what he meant was that in football you have homefield advantage. And if malenia was fighting in her opponent's arena they would've had homefield advantage. Mabye
So I took advantage of this to proc her WFD with throwing daggers from a distance in her first phase. It's more comforting not getting sprung with death. Made it slightly more bearable but has minimal effect for her second phase.
I think a major thing impacting this is that she gets triple the healing, since it scales with each target hit. When she waterfowls, everything dies and she gets half her health back. It often makes a major difference in the fight's outcome here.
That's pretty minor compared to the advantage of having 3 of you fighting her. A lot of the fights where she's pushed to phase 2 aren't really even because the boss is strong, but because three of them together can chain stun lock her until she transitions.

He's already rotted in the game. I think it would be a stand still if Radahn is still in his OG form that being said Malenia is also weaker in the game than she was before fighting Radahn.
Radahn nearly killed her... she knew she had no way to defeat the big Chad fair and square and so in a last ditch attempt to beat him she nuked 1/6th of the continent with scarlet rot and yet that was still not enough to kill him. Radahn>Malenia

I feel like the godskin nobles could definitely win if given some rematches but I 100% knew 3 Malikeths could win, i've seen him stomp Malenia one on one, the percentage based drain of Destined Death doesn't care how much you heal, if he stacks it on enough the outcome will always be the same, really the only bosses i've seen beat him are ones that do MASSIVE posture damage in their attacks to the point they can keep him stunlocked and locked down.

Should've put her in Radhan's Arena so he can probably take use out of his Phase 2. It's so old seeing creators always put them in her arena, because it screws over a portion of the bosses facing her.

Not really in my case. Everyone is saying that he is easy boss and I know this boss can a lot, on my first playthrough he killed me more than 5 times, it isn't a lot but most of the bosses die in first three tries. He has a lot of one shot spells, if you aren't close and disrupting his casts he can really unleash hell on earth.
If only the ai had them avoid the scarlet aeonia instead of chilling inside it they might have won cuz they stunlocked her Poise break after poise break It would be interesting to see a one on one fight but with better ai that isn't tailored to fight the player
@@ToxicallyMasculinelol i don't think she gets extra poise, I think since she's more agressive you just get less chances to actually lower her poise stat since it goes back up sort of like stamina does.
x3 damage, spells and stuns too. Look the First Lord, Malenia was cancelled more than Will Smith after the slap. So, not much the solo will change how the result, rather Milenia will win all I guess
anything big and easily hittable she's gonna restore her HP too quick for it to matter, for anything to beat her it has to be something fast that plays keep-away and has the raw damage to burn her hp down before she regens off hits. I wonder how she'd do against 3x placidusax with all his teleporting and flying around, but he might still be too big and slow and feed her HP.
Every time she descends upon her opponent and uses the flower thingy, she gets an instant advantage. So it makes sense that Maliketh, with his long range high damage capabilities, that he would come closer to victory then almost anything else.
I'd like to see how she does in some of their home fields. Like if Rennala could still summon dragons and shit or if Radahn could turn into a meteor without dissappearing... also want her to fight the Elden Beast
It didn't do any damage. In fact it put Mohg at a disadvantage because he couldn't do anything for so long. It really annoys me when people take away his Nihil, especially when Malenia can do multiple waterfowl's and scarlet aeonia's in a row.
@@Fagbagmgee It actually did a fair bit, but she was lifestealing through it, so it looked like it didn't do anything. The whole time it was going on, you should have seen Mohg's HP bars dropping rapidly. Had Malenia's lifesteal not been a thing, it most likely would have put her down, if not at least come very close.
@@Noobzlikeu she was doing her scarlet aeonia while mohg was doing his nihil. She doesnt have life steal on the part where the flower blooms, only the part where she comes down at you. She wasnt life stealing mohg's attacks and mohg didnt do any damage to her.
@@Noobzlikeu Each nihil is percentage based damage and does roughly 1/3 of targets hp. If Mohg's nihils actually worked, Malenia would've died almost immediately.

I love how Gideon finishes her first phase using her flower attack only for her to immediately respond with a much bigger version. Seems almost petty in a way.
Says alot that Hoarah Loux easily got her almost dead but she used one ability twice in a row and one shot them with 0 counter. Really is just an ability where if you are AI and or melee and as such dont create distance you cannot win. If it wasnt for that unlucky rng they easily win.
Her abilities are not RNG based... Did you even waych the video? She uses it everytime she gets to a certain health percentage... just like Waterfowl dance.
@@MaterialMeister It both is and isnt. She will use waterfowl as soon as she reaches 75% hp if you are close enough and if you attack her. She wont use it until you hit her next. She spammed waterfowl 3 times almost in a row because Rennala is using projectiles. Malenia hates most projectiles. I learned this during my bow only run. Against melee she doesn't spam waterfowl unless you stunlock her too much. She used her waterfowl against me a total of 20 times in her first phase alone in that bow run. Pretty much every time I shot at her with 2 or more arrows in a row she would side step and waterfowl. Thank god I was fighting at range. Her Aeonia works the same in phase 2. She will always start with it and then she wont use it again till you drop her to half health. Which is why she did it twice here.
this is impressive to watch all those powerfull bosses just faling like flies around her, and to think a single player could take her down with time and patience...

well first thing is that shes vampiric so the bosses have no chance already because they will not dodge like a human would, the other thing is the big reason they cant finish her is because of that burning flower, the Ai is not smart enough to step out of it, a human can easily figure that out.
Its due to his attacks and AI. None of these battles do the fighters actually dodge, so for one of them to beat Malenia they have to stay either out of the Flower Nuke ( which they don't because the AI only knows to attack) or have a move that drains her health quickly and at rapid speed so they do not die before her Flower Nuke gets them. Maliketh's draining attack does just that. The Godskin's would have got her, but they stayed too close to her during the nuke, even Gideon may have got her since all his attacks are casting centered which means he was further away. Its the AI and moves!

I like how Hoarah Loux had more of a chance at defeating her than Godfrey, goes to show just how devastating he is once he stops holding back.
If she did not do a 2nd Lotus Bloom move (or whats it called) at the end but a normal slash or even waterfowl, I think they wouldve gotten her.

So I took advantage of this to proc her WFD with throwing daggers from a distance in her first phase. It's more comforting not getting sprung with death.
Made it slightly more bearable but has minimal effect for her second phase.

I think a major thing impacting this is that she gets triple the healing, since it scales with each target hit. When she waterfowls, everything dies and she gets half her health back. It often makes a major difference in the fight's outcome here.
That's pretty minor compared to the advantage of having 3 of you fighting her. A lot of the fights where she's pushed to phase 2 aren't really even because the boss is strong, but because three of them together can chain stun lock her until she transitions.

Rigged. I wanted to see an open field fight Radahn could prob win first phase.
He's already rotted in the game. I think it would be a stand still if Radahn is still in his OG form that being said Malenia is also weaker in the game than she was before fighting Radahn.
Radahn nearly killed her... she knew she had no way to defeat the big Chad fair and square and so in a last ditch attempt to beat him she nuked 1/6th of the continent with scarlet rot and yet that was still not enough to kill him. Radahn>Malenia

I feel like the godskin nobles could definitely win if given some rematches but I 100% knew 3 Malikeths could win, i've seen him stomp Malenia one on one, the percentage based drain of Destined Death doesn't care how much you heal, if he stacks it on enough the outcome will always be the same, really the only bosses i've seen beat him are ones that do MASSIVE posture damage in their attacks to the point they can keep him stunlocked and locked down.
Maliketh is the strongest boss in the game. Malenia is just a cheap lil' B that breaks the rules of the game.

@@benedictjajo Mind that Maliketh didn't have access to a large portion of his moveset, since a lot of his evasive moves are dependent on his specific boss arena.
Should've put her in Radhan's Arena so he can probably take use out of his Phase 2. It's so old seeing creators always put them in her arena, because it screws over a portion of the bosses facing her.
Doing so would mean she doesn't get HER phase 2... which is needless to say crucial in seeing how the bosses fare against the Malenia fight in full.

Not really in my case. Everyone is saying that he is easy boss and I know this boss can a lot, on my first playthrough he killed me more than 5 times, it isn't a lot but most of the bosses die in first three tries. He has a lot of one shot spells, if you aren't close and disrupting his casts he can really unleash hell on earth.
It made sense right away though, Malenia's one major weakness is to stagger, that's why Horah Loux also clowned her first phase.

anything big and easily hittable she's gonna restore her HP too quick for it to matter,
for anything to beat her it has to be something fast that plays keep-away and has the raw damage to burn her hp down before she regens off hits.
I wonder how she'd do against 3x placidusax with all his teleporting and flying around, but he might still be too big and slow and feed her HP.
Every time she descends upon her opponent and uses the flower thingy, she gets an instant advantage. So it makes sense that Maliketh, with his long range high damage capabilities, that he would come closer to victory then almost anything else.
Makes sense lore wise though that flower thingy is the scarlet rot which pretty much decimates anyone in the lore and she is the Goddess of Rot

As expected, Mohg's Nihil spam actually almost did her in. It's insane how dangerous that move is.
It didn't do any damage. In fact it put Mohg at a disadvantage because he couldn't do anything for so long. It really annoys me when people take away his Nihil, especially when Malenia can do multiple waterfowl's and scarlet aeonia's in a row.
@@Fagbagmgee It actually did a fair bit, but she was lifestealing through it, so it looked like it didn't do anything. The whole time it was going on, you should have seen Mohg's HP bars dropping rapidly. Had Malenia's lifesteal not been a thing, it most likely would have put her down, if not at least come very close.
@@Noobzlikeu she was doing her scarlet aeonia while mohg was doing his nihil. She doesnt have life steal on the part where the flower blooms, only the part where she comes down at you. She wasnt life stealing mohg's attacks and mohg didnt do any damage to her.

If Mohg's nihils actually worked, Malenia would've died almost immediately.

Says alot that Hoarah Loux easily got her almost dead but she used one ability twice in a row and one shot them with 0 counter. Really is just an ability where if you are AI and or melee and as such dont create distance you cannot win. If it wasnt for that unlucky rng they easily win.

@@MaterialMeister It both is and isnt. She will use waterfowl as soon as she reaches 75% hp if you are close enough and if you attack her. She wont use it until you hit her next. She spammed waterfowl 3 times almost in a row because Rennala is using projectiles. Malenia hates most projectiles. I learned this during my bow only run. Against melee she doesn't spam waterfowl unless you stunlock her too much.
She used her waterfowl against me a total of 20 times in her first phase alone in that bow run. Pretty much every time I shot at her with 2 or more arrows in a row she would side step and waterfowl. Thank god I was fighting at range.
Her Aeonia works the same in phase 2. She will always start with it and then she wont use it again till you drop her to half health. Which is why she did it twice here.

well first thing is that shes vampiric so the bosses have no chance already because they will not dodge like a human would, the other thing is the big reason they cant finish her is because of that burning flower, the Ai is not smart enough to step out of it, a human can easily figure that out.

Its due to his attacks and AI. None of these battles do the fighters actually dodge, so for one of them to beat Malenia they have to stay either out of the Flower Nuke ( which they don't because the AI only knows to attack) or have a move that drains her health quickly and at rapid speed so they do not die before her Flower Nuke gets them. Maliketh's draining attack does just that. The Godskin's would have got her, but they stayed too close to her during the nuke, even Gideon may have got her since all his attacks are casting centered which means he was further away. Its the AI and moves!
